1.Lions- Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
Although I think they’ll trade down and get a defensive players such as Brian Orakpo, this is the pick if they stay put.

2. Rams- Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
Build through the line, best way to form a team

3. Chiefs- Brian Orakpo DE Texas
The best passrusher in the draft, defense wins championships so why not start off with the foundation of the defense, a good passrush makes alright DBs look better.

4. Seahawks-Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio St
Probably losing Trufant so why not pickup the best corner in the draft, good in run support good man to man.

5. Browns- Aaron Curry OLB Wake Forest
Defense is not doing great, Aaron Curry doesn’t need 5 hour energy to open a can of whoop-***

6. Bengals- Jason Smith OT Baylor
Quickfooted guy, franchise left tackle, prevents those hits on the QB that destroyed your season.

7. Raiders- Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
Al likes his glamour picks, and this one might help a lot, #1 reciever, got it all, takes pressure off of JaMarcus, which takes pressure off the line, which helps McFadden. Get your popcorn ready.

8. Jaguars- Andre Smith OT Alabama
Somehow won the Alabama player of the year as an OT, called the greatest lineman in all the land for the past two seasons. Do work

9. Packers- B.J. Raji
Not a DE, but will take double teams in order to let the DE’s go one on one to the QB, also helps stuff the run game. Allowing those DBs to do what they do best and take that ball out of the air to the house and into the crowd.

10. 49ers- Michael Oher OT Ole Miss
Not the best of the bunch, but would do a lot of help for whoever the 49ers put at QB…

11. Bills- Everett Brown DE Florida State
Monster, Their LB core is solid, just need a passrush. Watching them against the patriots that last time was sickening, they had all the time they wanted to throw the ball and theyd still be able to run it for solid gains. DL needs help, make them fear the passrush so they have to run more and be more predictable.

12. Broncos- Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
Great Vision, this pick seems like a great fit to me, it defies the usual late round gem, but if you look at the Broncos offense all I see is Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall, get a running game in there and your defense has time to recoop and isn’t on the field as long.

13. Redskins- Rey Maulaluga ILB USC
Although it pains me to say it, I think Rey could do well on this defense. Not many big names, but an all around talented young LBer fits the bill.

14. Saints- William Moore S Missouri
This guy is ridiculous, he is the prototypical safety and very Brian Dawkins-esk.

15. Texans- Vontae Davis CB Illinois
Robinson is a small guy, Reeves is a small guy, the only bigger corner is Earl Bennett and he’s not exactly starting material. Vontae is still raw great in man, a playmaker, excellent tackler, leader, make it happen.

16. Chargers- Chris Wells RB Ohio State
I’m pretty sure Sproles would resign if LT was gone, and it looks like he will be. So A great compliment back to Sproles would be Wells, get a Carolina type running game and this team is super bowl worthy.

17. Jets- Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
Would be an amazing pick for them, get an actual good WR on the team help Mr. QB out

18. Bears- Darrius Heyward-Bey
Cold weather WR, tall, #1, all qualities the bears are missing. Keep Hester as a #2 or slot.

19. Buccaneers- Aaron Maybin DE/OLB Penn St.
Probably not exactly what they’re looking for but nonetheless him and that guy on the other side are gunna kick butt in the passing game.

20. Lions (f/Cowboys)- Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss
Hardworker, take some doubleteams off of the ends, allow a passrush so they don’t get mauled deep.

21. Patriots- Darius Butler CB UCONN
Underrated player, amazing speed, good instincts, fluid hips, good height.

22. Dolphins- James Laurinaitis ILB Ohio State
Seems like a Parcells guy, tough as nails, smart, can get a lot bigger.

23. Vikings- Tyson Jackson DE LSU
After seeing hope from the other Jackson, I think this Jackson completes your line, the rest of your draft is mostly for Depth.

24. Colts- Alex Mack C Cal
No Dts left really, go OL, find this guy who is the general they need after Peyton’s second best friend retires.

25. Falcons- Percy Harvin WR Florida
They need another playmaker on offense, great compliment to Roddy White.

26. Eagles(via Carolina)- Duke Robinson OG Oklahoma
Not an OT but will help that line alot

27. Giants- Clint Sintim OLB Virginia
Its not my pick, im personally obsessed with DBs, but hes a prototypical SAM so what the heck.

28. Ravens- DJ Moore CB Vandy
Steal, he’s young and raw, learn from Rolle and McAlister and they’ll have a solid replacement for when either of them retire or get injured.

29. Eagles- Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma State
Not a #1 WR, but a solid blocker and deep threat, wanted to give you Josh Freeman, but I probably would’ve been neg repped up the butt cheeks.

30. Tennessee- Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech
Think Haynesworth will stay, get another passrusher on board to take advantage of that.

31. Pittsburgh- Kenny Britt WR Rutgers
Limas Sweed, psh Kenneth right here is a nice receiver to replace Hines, I think Hines has maybe one more season on him possibly.

32. Arizona- Brian Cushing OLB USC
Superbowl Champs, no Safety worth it, no Lineman worth it, take a solid LB

25. Falcons- Percy Harvin WR Florida
They need another playmaker on offense, great compliment to Roddy White.
Horrible Pick! Atlanta has ZERO need for a WR! We have our perfect compliments to White, the possession Jenkins who had 800 yards this year receiving and Harry Douglas who will be a great slot. taking a WR for us would be stupid and it isn't even close to a need. Atlanta's needs:
NT
OLB
SS
DE

to even think ATL needs a WR proves just how little you know about Atlanta and the needs of the team. Not to mention you think that Dimitroff is as dumb as Matt Millen to take a WR in the first round when actual needs are present.

so again, we don't need a WR.

i dont see him as specifically a WR, i see him as a playmaker, and when a paperthin Harry Douglas has to return kicks, theres a problem.

so you have us wasting a pick on a return man/clone of Harry Douglas and Jerious Norwood? it's even worse of a pick when you explain it like that. the only offensive need we MIGHT have is TE. that's it. but Douglas and Norwood do what Harvin did in college. If we need a KR, we will sign one, but we like having Douglas back there for punts and Norwood back there for kicks. so honestly, there is no problem outside of you not knowing a thing about the Falcons.

Im satisfied with the pick but I think the order is a little messed up. Vikings pick at 22 not 23. The Dolphins and Patriots pick after the Vikings.

well all im saying is that you guys need more playmakers and even if you dont think so Percy has great value there. Special teams is 1/3 of the game as well.

And yes i know, i couldnt find one that was updated

we have playmakers. we have quite a few playmakers. and a few clutch guys to go with the playmakers:
Roddy White
Michael Jenkins
Harry Douglas
Michael Turner
Jerious Norwood

that's enough playmakers to have an offense run. and our clutch guys:
Roddy White
Michael Jenkins
Brian Finneran

if you notice something Harvin would be our #3 RB or #4 WR, you don't take that spot in the FIRST ROUND. you take it in the 5th or 6th. What we need on offense is a playmaking Clutch TE. so if you want to go offense, that's where you go, otherwise, just stick with NT, DE, OLB, or SS.

and you especially don't take a KR or PR when your current guys were top 10 in the NFL. proving more and more you know nothing about hte Falcons.

Finneran and Douglas over Percy? idts, plus Douglas is to tiny to go slot, Finneran too slow, Roddy is #1 Jenkins is on and off good, Percy would help

what are you even talking about? you are really proving how little you know about hte Falcons:

Roddy #1
Jenkins got 770 yards and 3 TD's and is the clutch 3rd down guy.
Douglas is too small? he's 6'0" 190, the average size for an NFL slot man.
Finnaran is our #4 and is a damn good receiver when he is in and thrown to. he only missed one catch this year and it was because it was a throw away.

And then there is Laurent Robinson, who could wind up being a better receiver than any of our current ones outside of Roddy with his size and abilities. so no, ATLANTA HAS NO NEED FOR A WR! I don't know why you can't get it through your head that we don't need one, and will not take one since we have actual needs like NT, OLB, DE, and SS.

If we go anywhere on offense it will be TE, because Ben Hartsock can't catch

First things first, your draft order past the 20th pick is a touch jumbled, Ballin. Look here. (http://www.gbnreport.com/weeklydraftorder.html)

Yeah seriously. What do you have on Trufant that is leaving us Seahawks fans starting to panic? He just signed a long term deal this offseason so I don't think he's going anywhere.

Personally, nice job with the Jenkins pick, but what's up with the explanation?

20. Lions (f/Cowboys)- Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss
Hardworker, take some doubleteams off of the ends, allow a passrush so they don’t get mauled deep.

Even if that were true, considering who their DT's are, add Peria Jerry to that mix and you have a group of DT's that teams can continue to just run over. Not a good idea for the worst run defense in the league.

24. Colts- Alex Mack C Cal
No Dts left really, go OL, find this guy who is the general they need after Peyton’s second best friend retires.

Glad to see someone else give the colts a center in a mock.

31. Pittsburgh- Kenny Britt WR Rutgers
Limas Sweed, psh Kenneth right here is a nice receiver to replace Hines, I think Hines has maybe one more season on him possibly.

Sweed is a rookie amd two dropped passes does not a Troy Williamson make.

I think it would be Finneran and Douglas and whoever else the Falcons would use on that pick on.

Finneran and Douglas over Percy? No.

Finneran and Douglas and lets say Brian Cushing as a starting linebacker over Percy in the slot or maybe the #2? Yes.

Percy wouldn't even win the slot receiver spot.

I was glad to see you back, as I missed seeing that avatar, but then I saw your Dolphins pick. Now I think you can go back into hibernation.

Laurinaitis is not tough as nails. He's soft as tissue. He cannot get off a block to save his life! He would suck in our defense, so I wish people would stop giving him to the Dolphins!

Glad to see someone else give the colts a center in a mock.
If the Colts didn't already have two (near-)equatable talents in youngsters (Mike Pollak & Jamey Richard), plus a potential third (Steve Justice), who could replace Jeff Saturday tomorrow, I'd be all for Alex Mack. Especially as I really like him as a player/prospect.

You're saying that Mark Sanchez falls out of the 1st round?

01-23-2009, 08:26 AM
William Moore has been ridiculously BAD at the Senior Bowl practices. He has done a great Darnell Bing impersonation. He will probably not get drafted until after the 14th pick of the 2nd round.

DiG
01-23-2009, 09:51 AM
If the Redskins think that Blades has what it takes to stay outside and take over for Marcus then I think Rey would be a great fit in our defense inside. And with the big 4 OTs and Raji off the board this pick makes sense.

Solid Bears pick. For future reference, Britt or Hakeem Nicks would also work for me in that spot if DHB and the top DEs are all gone
