Sounds like Gruden had a worse relationship with his/our players than it appeared.

Not so much. Simeon is acting like a jilted lover.
He was cut by 3 teams in the span of 6 months. We obviously knew something, because 2 other teams did the same. Not to mention 2 other very highly regarded coaches in Mike Shanahan and Tony Dungy.

Simeon isn't the only one to have said negative things about Gruden.

Exactly. It seems like a lot of guys had trouble with his ego.

Warren Sapp talked about this earlier today. As he relayed it:
In the case with the Colts, Tony Dungy told Rice man-to-man that he was cut and that he didn't have it any more. He treated him like a man and was honest.
With Gruden though, he made Rice fly to Tampa to fail a physical that both sides knew would happen, and he was cut the first day of training camp without Gruden looking him eye-to-eye or saying a word to him.
Basically, Rice is just one of Gruden's former players calling him out to be the two-faced coward he is.
No human being likes to get treated like a body. Players put their bodies on the line for a coaching staff and the least they can get is some respect and integrity in return.
2-faced coward pretty much sums it up.
Doesn't mean Gruden can't coach, although personally I don't understand the rumors of him to the college game.
But he needs to cut this crap out for his next job.
I agree. His problems are not coaching related. Most, if not all have to do with his interpersonal skills and character traits. His inability to stick with a QB, bring in talent that exceeds the limits of his dinky offense and bond with his players. Those are just examples. He does have a brilliant offensive mind and calls good plays, but he doesn't put himself in a position to succeed. A year off from the game would do him wonders imo...straighten everything out.
