Stop giving the Eagles a safety in the 1st round. Safety is not a need. The staff loves Quintin Demps as our free safety of the future. Quintin Mikell is borderline elite as well. Our only need for safety is for depth purposes. Unless you think taking a player 21st or 28th overall to be a career backup is acceptable, do not give the Eagles a safety in the first.

TE(only Pettigrew is acceptable in the first),#1 WR(Britt, Nicks, DHB,etc...),OT/G(Britton,Robinson) and RB(Wells, Moreno, McCoy) are all bigger needs than safety. It is no longer a 1st round need because like Twista said Demps and Mikeel are our safeties of the future. The players I put in brackets are suggestions for our 2 first round picks. Eagles will 99% go o-line in the first unless o-line becomes a hot commodity which it very well may given the depth in this years draft, then they will most likely trade down to the early fist and take someone like Beatty. Another possibility if the o-linemen start flying off the board is to address some of the other needs listed above and hope someone like Loadholt is still around in the 2nd round.

Eagles will pick an OT this year.
WR is also a need, but ultimately they go with an OT

When is WR not a need for the Eagles?

Don't worry. No safety is going in the 1st anyway.

Truths to the draft
#1. No Shanahan deciple will ever take a 1st round RB (this is off topic)
#2. There is always at least one reach and/or bust in every draft. (OT)
#3 More often then not the Eaglese will draft an OLman in one of their first two picks

What's so funny? Mikell played about as well as any strong safety this past year not named Polamalu, Wilson, or Sanders.

So did I, and I'm an Eagles fan. Q is pretty good, and really had a nice year, but to call him elite is pretty damn funny.
That said, this poor misguided bastich is correct that a 1st rd S is far from a huge need. Mikell isn't elite, but not every position can have an All-Pro.
Drafting a mid-rounder to develop is a good idea, as is re-signing Dawk for another year, but definitely stay away from any S in the 1st, especially this year.
The Eagles #1 need by a long stretch is RB. Westy is dangerously close to breaking down, and C-Blunt is a FA and is 99.9% definitely gone.
That offense without Westbrook would be in deep shiz, and they can't think they're going to get that lucky again to draft a top 3 NFL back in the 3rd rd again. Finding an elite replacement is a must ASAP. Hell, they need two young backs ASAP.

I totally see what you're saying. Any other brilliance to share? Like how Mike Vick is an underrated passer? Or maybe that Rosie O'Donnell is so hot she makes your tighty whities clinch?

I don't see why Q gets no love. I honestly am hard pressed to name more than 5 strong safeties who had a better season. I got Wilson, Polamalu, Sanders and that's it. Anyone care to throw some names up there?

This was taken from my OP: "Quintin Mikell is borderline elite as well"
I used to be a Mikell doubter but I really don't see how he couldn't be considered elite if he plays next year like he did this year. Especially now he has more motivation, with his coach having cancer.
The Best/Worst for each player in that mock is the worst thing ive ever seen.
Yeah no kidding. Apparently Chase Coffman's floor is.. Dallas Clark? I'll take that..

As annoying as you might find that, what you did is just as annoying.
If someone wants to refer to the team they follow as "us" or "ours" then let them. I do it all the time.

i agree that with the depth of o-line in this draft, the birds could very well trade down, or take OT with there first pick and hope Pettigrew somehow slips to there 2nd first round pick

No, it's just a lineman on either side of the ball, not just an OL.
