Then why was Floyd quoted saying that UM told him that?

draftguru151

Floyd said he never said that. There is an article on rivals about how it was never said.

keylime_5

there is a rivals article about Floyd refuted it ever being said. Doesn't mean it was never said just b/c Floyd didn't want people to think Urban said that ;). It comes from his high school coach saying that about Urban.

sbh15

It comes from random people being complete idiots. No kid would ever believe a coach would die for them.

In fact, most of these kids would be creeped out by that.

I heard from UF fans on Volnation that the rumor originated from a South Carolina MB, where someone there cited an unnamed coach from Floyd's HS. Floyd did refute it when he heard the report going arouund, and even said Meyer saying that to him would've been a little too much.

So yeah, Floyd never said it. One of his coaches supposedly did.

Gotta admit it's kind've believable though. ;)

keylime_5

ya know that SC message board pretty much just took what nevadabuck heard verbatim and posted it on there and then it exploded and went everywhere. It all originates from what Floyd's HS coach reportedly said.

QB Dominique Brown to Louisville. Apparently he wants to play QB. The "next Tebow" speech must've sold him. Great system for a running QB....Brown is as raw as they come though as a passer. He makes Pryor look like Joe Montana when Terrelle was coming out of high school.

most feel wvu or usc

likes monte, but wvu has easier depth chart (1 sr 1 jr start; 1 soph 1 rsfr back-up); and his coach is a candidate for wvu's open ga position (played db here in 80s)

Surprised to say the least that we landed Jeffcoat and Hicks. I give alot of credit to Muschamp who has been leading the recruiting front lately and alot of these defensive guys really want to play for him. Future looks really good, I just hope that we can find a RB to rely on instead of a committee approach because Gilbert will do just fine.

Newton should get the bulk of the carries next year

I would be happy with any of the top 4 in-state RB's in next year's class.

That and all this is based off of "I wanna head out to minnesota with my brother DONNELL KIRKWOOD!!!"

I mean, it doesn't even say, "I'm going to" or "I'm headed to" or "I'm switching to". The kid didn't tell anyone about it, but posted it on facebook. Maybe the kid wishes he could keep playing with someone he's close with. Maybe Kirkwood got on his facebook and wrote it. WHo knows. Yea, that's what I was getting at. There's no direct statement either way, it's all based on interpretation of a single quote and what may or may not be implied by it.

I obviously don't have more info to the situation that anyone else, but has it been confirmed that Louis actually wrote it, and meant that he's going to sign with Minnesota?

I don't understand how so many people/publications can just accept one line on facebook, which has to be left to be interpreted of all things, as a source. I just find it entertaining.

We have been watching him at Mizzou for a few years with the hope that he might follow in his father's footsteps but it appears their is no interest. Anyone claiming where Henderson is going at this point is just guessing. The fact that there is so much pro-Buckeye buzz this close to the announcement (mainly from ESPN and Rivals) isn't a good sign for OSU imo. I think they're just putting pieces together that say logically OSU is his choice b/c it's closer to home and USC/UF/ND just had coaching turnover or controversy.....but I've always had the feeling that he'd pick USC just b/c it's USC with Carroll there or not. I feel like the whole signing day extravaganza, not being able to decide between top schools, dropping hints every so often for different schools, etc. has a lot to do with his dad loving the spotlight. It's always his dad in interviews, talking about trips and coaches and whatever.

Miami has a better chance with Henderson than most realize I think (like 10-15% opposed to like 1% which looks like from this thread) but I still think that puts them 3rd behind OSU and USC.

Wondering about who Alabama would have to replace kicker Leigh Tiffin, they signed Cade Foster from Southlake Carroll HS in the DFW Metroplex.

That's the same HS that senior QB Greg McElroy came from, Saban's recruiting staff is hardwired into it. Foster holds the Texas state HS extra points scoring rcd. with 234 & was ranked the #1 kicker in the country.

Hmm curious. What thugs does Iowa have? Outside of I think 5 or 6 about 2 years ago that were kicked off, I don't think any come to mind. Please, enlighten us?

Also, it's obvious Ferentz is treating Henderson like the incredibly hot girl. She's used to all the attention and guys bending over backwards for her. Then one guys is like, "Eh, you're not really that hot, I'm not interested." All of a sudden she has this sensation that she has to **** that guy.

Ok then, I'm going to say it's between USC and Miami.

I think it's gonna be USC and second place won't matter. I wouldn't be surprised if he said in the end his final two schools were USC and Miami with OSU third, but either way I've had the feeling all along it would be USC and that feeling just gets stronger with every article quoting an interview with Henderson or his father. That's gotta be where he's been wanted to go all along.

However, if he doesn't pick USC, it's gonna be Ohio State......if that makes any sense.

Speaking of Southlake Carroll, they had a running back this year who had close to 1,700 yards rushing, around 9 ypc, if I recall, runs a 4.5 40, but I can't seem to find anything on him on any recruiting sites. How is this possible, since this is one of the top class 5A teams in all of Texas??

Demarcus Milliner is the national #1 ranked DB who is slated to join Dre Kirkpatrick as an immediate secondary starter for Kiby Smart's defense.

Lindsay is one of 3 Texans on the Tide roster for the incoming class of 2010, including #1-ranked nationally kicker Cade Foster who holds the Texas state HS rcd. for extra points with 234.

But ya just said Rogers and Ambles likely to UT like 2 hours ago! :p

I wouldn't be surprised if he chooses UNC. Ambles has been really hard to gauge since Kiff went to USC. Vols fans figured he was as good as gone, and then all of the sudden he shedules a visit and braves through a snow storm to get to Knoxville. So I'm not sure anyone really knows what he's thinking. Ambles kind've reminds me of Hakeem Nicks too, so that's funny that UNC is a finalist.

As long as he doesn't go to USC or to another SEC team, it's alright. Vols should still rake in a helluva WR corps for the future. I'm still hopin' though! :D

3 Auburn 29 3
4 Alabama 25 1
5 Oklahoma 29 0

21 Stanford 23 0
22 Ohio State 18 0
23 California 16 1
24 Ole Miss 18 0
25 Oklahoma State 29 0

Pls. discuss, I'll start: Big congrats on Auburn's surprising #3 ranking, & Texas A&M cracking the top 10 classes after yrs. of losing the in-state talent in the Great State to Texas, Texas Tech & others.

Note how far USC has fallen to #11, & with crosstown rival UCLA & Ric Neuheisel out-recruiting the Trojans with 19 total recruits to SC's 12, you have to believe the departure of Carroll is the biggest factor there. I think SC had more highly ranked decommits than any other major program this yr.

And Urban Meyer's unretirement after retiring suddenly after the NC game loss with cardiac concerns (was it a ploy? you tell me) has worked as the Gators retain their #1 ranking.

Is Keenan Allen or Gabe King the one 5-star recruit for Cal?

Dooley's been a God send. He's proven that success can come through doing things the right way, and not mortgaging the university's reputation just to get a plug on SportsCenter. Recruits have said he's personable and a man of integrity, which allows Vols fans to have a genuine pride in our HC. Dooley has made me feel like a man, and even taught me how to dance just in time for Prom. Not to mention, him and his staff's recruiting has been nothing short of miracle work. Maintaining a Top 10 class after coming in less than a month before signing day, and adding blue chip recruits to boot. If Derek Dooley and Pat Summit had a love child, it would make Jesus look like a hobo.

Volnation has noticed the UNC beanie on his Twitter...but not as much as him wanting to go "bone to bone" with female radio personality Heather Harrington, who played volleyball at UT:

OSU wasn't going to be a top 10 class this year. Henderson and James may have pushed it up in that range, but it's a smaller class and Ohio was very down this year.

And I'm not busting balls here. I'm serious. You have a bunch of midgets on the team and coming in. I don't get it. He is killing the program.

Also, I still don't get how these SEC schools can sign 25+ kids a year, every year. It's shameful the way they oversign and cut current players. So much for the college part.

True, but all signs point to USC. It sounds like his parents are following him to wherever he goes. Columbus is warmer than Minneapolis, but come on, who are we kidding? Warmth, glitz, glamor, and NCAA sanctions wins out.

If he works hard, he's going to be a top 10 pick in three years no matter what school he goes to. Seems to be a solid kid. Good luck to him.

Picking a school that is not in your "final" three is out of left field. When Parker told everyone that he was deciding between USC, Michigan, and Cal did you honestly think he was going to end up at Washington? I'm not surprised he's going to pick Washington. I'm surprised he's going to pick them after eliminating them earlier in the process.
