Lynch prolly won't be there at 16 due to the Bills and their need for one once Willis is traded. I think a young back either 2nd or 3rd round will be the choice

To me it's 50/50 whether they trade him or not. Also it's not a given that without Willis they would draft a RB in the 1st round. They do have an okay RB in Anthony Thomas and they do have other needs that they need to adress.

Please everyone knows that Anthony Thomas can't be a starter and yes they have needs but they've addressed the OL and really the only other options would be corner or LB, and Patrick Willis would be the only possibly pick and maybe Leon Hall

I think you trade down in the 1st and get olsen and another 2nd round pick and get Michael Bush. He's a beast.

As far as Free Agency goes, there's nothing of any real value except for Jamal Lewis who i wouldn't mind seeing in a packer Uniform.

Ahman Green wasn't steller last season but at least we knew we could depend on him to get 1,000 yards and catch the ball better then most RB's in the league. No we have to depend on Lynch (if we get him) who is very solid but a rookie none the less or a FA such as Lewis who was domiante 3 years ago but isn't what he used to be.

I think that Jamal Lewis/Michael Bush/Vernard Morency would be a very solid RB core. Bush has been hurt and with Lewis he doesn;t have to be the guy and can ease into the starting job down the road.

Turner costs a 1st rd and a 3rd i believe thats way to much, Davenport signed a 2 YR deal with the Steelers the other day. Never really been a fan of Jordan, Bush i think will go before we pick in the second round......Tony Hunt great solution i think! Bout not sure how far he falls

Thanks for putting all those video links together...

I have to say, after watching that I really am starting to become a Tony HUnt fan. Kid has some moves, is tough and unafraid of contact, runs right through arm tackles and doesn't go down easily and catches the ball very well. I don't know about anyone else but that sounds like a heck of a solid Green Bay Packer to me!

Not to mention at 220 pounds he is ready to carry the load. I like him.

Actually Hunt carries his 239 lbs well haha not 220 lbs, he is very impressive. Ahmad Bradshaw looks really good and would fit in are system i think and Lorenzo Booker that guy can move and fly ( see him as maybe a warrick dunn but less power). He has the important kinda speed....football speed. There was nothin really for Kenny Irons, Michael Bush, Chris Henry or Deshawn Wynn so thats why i didnt put any of them up.

No, I said it the whole time, even when he was doing well for us, Gado is not at all a good RB and shouldn't even be sniffing the #2 spot. We got freakin steal when we got Morency for him.

Question, why not a second or third for McGahee? I mean seriously he probably would do pretty well with you guys.

Mwkick
03-05-2007, 09:45 PM
McGhee is the most overrated back in the league. Seriously, the guy averaged 3.8 yards a carry last year and only had 6 tds. He's injury prone as well. Why trade away a second round pick when u can draft a younger back with less mileage??? To me, that's just throwing away picks. We would have been better off with Ahman.

AS for brandon Jackson being compared to Brian Calhun...when was the last time you saw Brian run over someone???? Just curious. Maybe he should have stayed, but I think that guy is going to be a very solid back.

Yeah Larry Johnson seems to be cursed! haha Well now Henry is off the board and went to Denver and that means it is less likely that the Bills will trade Willis i think (not sure how many other teams are interested) So Marshawn is lookin more likely again. Bout I'd still rather take Hunt or Pittman
maybe Bradshaw, Walker, or Booker ( more like Calhoun) Jackson just not a fan.

Trade up for AP!
But really I think TT has a rookie in mind to fill the void, much like Jennings last year. My guess is that we take a rookie to split carries with Morency. I still think we are gonna be pretty poor at that position next year though.

Gi-15
03-06-2007, 12:23 AM
Why insn't anybody talking about Brian Leonard as a possible target in round 2? I think he would fit perfectly : 1- He is packer people.
2- He would be the perfect complement to Morency, he could be a terrific west-coast FB who can catch the ball, block, and he could also be the change-of-pace Power RB. They could be both on the field field at the same time, imagine the possibilities.

RockJock07
03-06-2007, 12:32 AM
Jamal Lewis DOES have gas left in the tank. He had more rushing yards and touchdowns then Green did last season.

Lewis is no LT or LJ, but to say he has nothing left in the tank is flat out wrong, plus he's 3 years younger then Green.

So Lewis and Michael Bush in the 2nd.

Mwkick
03-06-2007, 06:59 AM
It took LJ how many years to start? He broke the Penn State bust mold, but he was still cursed in a way.
Calhun didn't run over his fair share of people. The guy was 5'9" 190lbs in college...if that. Jackson's got 20lbs on him. Calhun was more of a shifty back. Not saying he wasn't good, but I can't see the comparison to Jackson.
Jamal Lewis shouldn't be a packer. I hate to say it, but he's not the Jamal of old. The guy can still play, but there isn't much left.

He seems to be a good power back and do we still have Miree?i really liked Gado and i wanted him to be our starter last year but i realized that the only reason i wanted that was because he was a great story not a great player. we got the better end o the Morency trade.

i think TT would be alright with having Morency start next year, but i'd rather bring someone in.

BTW Calhoun can break tackles.

Id like to draft a RB but if we are going to stick with Morency, a cheap veteran pick-up sounds like a good idea. I think we can get somebody like Chris Brown or LaMont Jordan (once hes cut) for a good price.

I wouldn't mind seeing TT go after Willis McGahee. He's done well in Buffalo and they havent surrounded him with anything up there. But Im willing to bet Buffalo's asking price is way too high. Id trade a 4th rounder or something along those lines. I have to admit though Im a little excited to see Vernand Morency get the starting job. I think if he works hard at it, he could be really good.

I hope the Moss deal goes down. He would fit this team nicely for a couple years. I know TT is pretty stubborn when it comes to signing older FA's. But it would benefit this offense. We can't keep relying on rookies every year. Other than that I like what TT is doing. He's prolly laughing as teams sign these FA's to lucrative deals.

If we do trade Rodgers, we would need a veteran QB. Who is available?? I like the idea of grooming Ingle Martin. As far as Im concerned he's shown more potential than A-Rod. Maybe that's going a little too far there, but Im not big on Rodgers. He looks like a little punk too.

Would TT consider trading up to pass Buffalo for Marshawn Lynch?

Seeing as his traded down 4 times in the '06 draft, 3 times in the '05 draft, and "[with Seahawks during 2000-'04] six times without even once trading up." For a total of 13 trade downs and 0 trade ups, I'd say odds are against it. Although there have been rumblings that he might trade up to 6 if AD is there, I haven't heard anything about Lynch, but if I had to guess today, I'd say no he wouldn't.
