Probably between when the 3 armored vehicles surrounded him and the officers started banging on the window. My assumption is he started to panic when his car was surrouned, and when SWAT came along side his car, he pulled the trigger on himself. That's why one of the SWAT officers suddenly started bashing the window in order to open the door.

It wasn't really exciting. You couldn't see anything visually graphic or flash from gunfire. You didn't know what happened to the guy until the 4 SWAT members opened the door and didn't pull him out to put him in custody - thats when the news anchors started speculating that the person inside must be incapacitated or a non-threat, most likely meaning he had unfortunately shot himself.

Also, the man wasn't a celebrity, but he was a wealthy business man. He was already an assault suspect, and was apparently distraught over financial issues, which led to him taking his life.
