Round 1
1 | Detroit | Eugene Monroe OT - I really don't think Stafford will be able to do anything in Detriot until hes got a legit offensive line in front of him. I say, build the team up, then throw in a franchise QB. It makes it easier for the QB to adjust that way. Not to mention, Monroe is probably the safest choice in the draft and Detriot really needs the guys that can come in and make an impact from day1.
2 | St. Louis | Andre Smith OT - Once again, St. Louis is screwed over by another team taking there LT. Lucky for them Tackle is a stacked core this year so they can take Andre Smith.True hes got question marks but they aren't HUGE issues, and if he doesn't pan out at Tackle, Im sure he can be a solid Guard at the worst.
3 | Kansas City | Aaron Curry LB - For weeks, I've had them taking Orakpo. Adding him to a line with Hali and Dorsey would be nasty but he kinda reminds me a litte of Vernon Ghloston. I think Curry is the best player in the draft and would easily give Kansas City an elite playmaker on defense which they desperatly need in that front7.
4 | Seattle | Malcolm Jenkins CB - Seattles pass defense is ranked DEAD LAST. Yes, I know they have Josh Wilson, Kelly Jennings, AND Marcus Trufant, but Jenkins gives them that potential elite shutdown corner and adding him, means easier matchups for Wilson, Jennings and Trufant. He can also play FS if all else fails. I also think out of Nicks, Britt, Harvin and even Heyward-Bey 1 of them could all be availible at there 2nd rounder.
5 | Cleveland | Brian Orakpo DE - With Curry AND Jenkins both gone, I think Cleveland takes the BPA that fills there biggest need. I still believe in WImbley and with Orakpo playing opposite of him, it might take some pressure of him and breed similar success with what Pittsburgh is doing with Woodley and Harrison.
6 | Cincinnati | Jason Smith OT - With Curry taken, I think they should look to address there o-line. When Carson returns next year he's going to need some protection. Cincy is a pass first team, and adding a tackle that excels in pass blocking makes sense.
7 | Oakland | Michael Crabtree WR - The Oakland Raider offense has really come together down the stretch. Russell showed that he's still not a bust, Michael Bush showed signs of a possible comeback. Zach Miller emerged. I've even heard good things about Mario Henderson at LT. With a backfield like Oakland(McFadden, Fargas, and Bush) and solid TE with Miller, a maturing QB, doesn't it make sense to add a go-to-guy in the passing game. Crabtree is that potential elite WR that is the missing piece in Oaklands offense.
8 | Jacksonville | Jeremy Maclin WR - With the 3 best OT's gone, I doubt the Jags reach for Oher, instead they get a WR who can actually catch. Last I checked, thats what good WR's do. Maclins a solid deep threat, can run the curl or slant routes and work the sidelines pretty effectivly. Garrard doesn't hold the ball to long and Maclin finnally gives them a dependable WR.
9 | Green Bay | B.J. Raji NT - With Green Bay switching to a 3-4, in order for it to be effective, they are gonna need a NT who can stuff the run and pressure the passer. Raji gives them that guy. This could mean, moving Justin Harrell(former 1st round pick) to a 3-4 DE where he could finally start to produce.
10 | San Francisco | Everette Brown DE - I actually gave them Michael Oher here, but then earsed it and gave them Brown. There defense really lacks a true pass rusher and many successful teams have ATLEAST one guy, who can get to the passer. Brown gives them that guy. I passed on Oher here, becuase of his inconsistency, the fact that they have Joe Stayley, and that I perosnally value defense over offense.
11 | Buffalo | Brandon Pettigrew TE - I seriously think that the Buffalo defense could be alot better if they got some help from there offense. Thats why I passed on Maybin here. Pettigrew gives the Bills offense a solid blocker in the run game, and a guy who can work the middle of the field in the passing game. Someone who Edwards can look to dump the ball of to when the play is breaking down. They've got a solid run game in Jackson and Lynch and a good deep threat in Evans. Pettigrew is the missing piece.
12 | Denver | Rey Maualuga ILB - I'm not sure if Denver is switching to a 3-4 or not, but I still think they need a guy like Rey on there defense. Nate Webter is there starting MLB, hes 31 and only had 76 tackles. Maualuga is an instant upgrade and will be a key building block for there defense for the next couple years.
13 | Washington | Michael Oher OT - I really want to give the Skins a Defensive linemen here but I think the only ones worth being taken are Orakpo or Brown. I think Oher is a better pick than Maybin or Sintim. He's a terrific value pick, and should really give Samuels, whos old and injured a push for the starting job.
14 | New Orleans | Chris Wells RB - I really want to give the Saints a linebacker like Sintim or even a corner, but when you look at there defense, its not all that bad, well they might be but when you've got that high powered New Orleans offense taking pressure off of that defense I think they can get the job done. Wells gives that offense(#1 in overall yards) ANOTHER dimension which is scary. Spliting Bush, Thomas and Wells could give that offense there own version of Earth wind and fire and really take alot of pressure of Brees, which in turn makes the offense alot more effective, which leads to more scoring, which leads to less pressure on the defense. If New Orleans offense can carry the team and finish games on offense, I think that defense is good enough to win em games.
15 | Houston | Vontae Davis CB - Houston is a team headed in the right direction. I think there offense is playoff ready and there defense is damn near close. They've got a solid d line with an elite pass rusher. They've got a playmaking linebacker. All they need now is a ballhawk safety. Unfortunatly
there isn't one worth this high a pick, so they go for a CB. Davis and Robinson could be one of the better CB duos in the league and Reeves playing nickel is a much better suited for him.
16 | San Diego | Tyson Jackson DE - If Igor Olshansky leaves via Free Agency, no biggie. I think Tyson Jackson would replace him very nicely and suit the Chargers alot better.
17 | New York Jets | Matthew Stafford QB - If Detriot passes on Stafford, and San Fran really believes in Hill I think its a defenet possibility that Stafford could fall. With Rex Ryan playing wittness to the emergence of Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh in Baltimore, I think he can see the same for him and Stafford. New York is easily a better team to play for than Detriot and he could come in from day 1 and be the starter. Already a solid o-line in New York and a defense that (under Rex Ryan) could possibly be a top 5 defense Stafford could possibly have Joe Flacco/Matt Ryan type success.
18 | Chicago | Darrius Heyward-Bey WR - Hester is a guy that can work the middle of the field, run the slant/curl routes and a threat to score whenever hes got the ball. However, he doesnt have the height to be a effective deep threat. Insert DHB. I think from day 1 could be a dangerous deep threat and the interdimediate routes could come over time.
19 | Tampa Bay | Mark Sanchez QB - Under Gruden, the Bucs never had a franchise QB. That should all change now with a new Head Coach. Expect Morris to take the same approach Harbaugh and Smith took and get "there guy" in there first year.
20 | Detroit | D.J. Moore CB - I think they go with Moore over Smith. They just release Bodden and that doesnt make things any better for the backfield that gave up an average 232 YPG. D.J. is an instant upgrade over whoever they have and can even play some offense. He gives them that "Wildcat" type player. God knows, they can use any type of threat on that offense.
21 | Philadelphia | Eben Britton OT - Tra Thomas and Runyan are solid starters but they are aging and adding a young guy like Britton means they won't have to worry about replacing 1 of the guys when they retire and also gives them insurance incase one were to go down to injury.
22 | Minnesota | Josh Freeman QB - I think that they can look past there DB and try and finally get a franchise QB. They've got an elite run game, they've got one of the best o-lines, they've got a solid WR corps, I don't care how inexpirenced Freeman might be. Any Quaterback could succeed playing in an offense like Minnesota's.
23 | New England | Brian Cushing OLB - Outside of Jerod Mayo, the Patriots linebacking corps is very old. They could go with James Lauriniatis but I think they go for a Mike Vrabel type guy in Cushing. Vrabel is 33 and slowing down. Cushing can be a situational pass rusher until Vrabel hangs em up. Personally, I prefer James Lauriniatis but I think they will opt for Cushing and his pass rushing abilities.
24 | Atlanta | Aaron Maybin DE - Maybin at 24 could be considered a steal, but I think Atlanta would happily draft him. I honestly believe Jamaal Anderson is a bust. Maybin playing alongside John Abraham could make things alot easier for Maybin. This could give Atlanta a very good DE tandem.
25 | Miami | Sean Smith CB - I really think, come draft day that Sean Smith will be 1st round worthy. Is he now? probably not but hes rising fast. He gives Miami a tall, physical corner. Something they lack in Goodman and Will Allen. Larry English or Sintim could also be good fits in Miami playing alongside Porter could give Miami a very effective pass rush, which in turn upgrades the coverage.
26 | Baltimore | Hakeem Nicks WR - As a Raven fan, I truly believe corner is a bigger need, but I'm not 100% sold that Smith is a good fit for us. He might be undersized but I want a true tackler in our secondary. If this is the case for us, I'd rather us take Nicks. He reminds me alot of Anquan Boldin. Hes got great hands and is a terrific YAC guy. Gives Flacco a go-to-guy when Mason starts to slow down.
27 | Indianapolis | Peria Jerry DT - Eric Foster and Keyunta Dawson are listed as the starting DT's for Indy. Jerry is an instant upgrade. Need I say more?
28 | Philadelphia | Kenny Britt WR - Im not going to give Philly a RB here. Why? because they are a pass happy team and adding the 6-4 Britt to a passing attack with DeSean Jacksons and Kevin Curtis has the potential to be very good. Jackson is speedy quicker target and Britt is the physical WR. Throw in Curtis in the slot and Westbrook out of the backfield and thats a very dangerous offfense.
29 | New York Giants | Clint Sintim OLB/DE - Drafting Sintim gives New York a very good problem, lol. Drafting him means Kiwinuka can stay at DE where he is obviously better at. Then they get Osi back, and they still have Tuck. What should they do? I say, DE should be Tuck and Osi, move Kiwi to OLB and have him play alongside Sintim. Throw in Antonio Pierce at MLB and thats one hella scary front 7.
30 | Tennessee | Alphonso Smith CB - He might be undersized but he gives Tennesse youth at the CB position which they desperatly need. Hes a true playmaker and his size is his only weakness.
31 | Arizona | Knowshon Moreno RB - Outside of Hightower, they've got nothing once Edge leaves. O-line could be a possibilty but I think RB gets the nod here.
32 | Pittsburgh | William Beatty OT - I think they really need a true pass blockig linemen. Tackle is weaker than Guard on there o-line and Beatty is a fantastic pass blocker. something Big Ben could really benefit from having.
+rep to all constructive critisism:)
1 | Detroit | Eugene Monroe OT - I really don't think Stafford will be able to do anything in Detriot until hes got a legit offensive line in front of him.
