I read that too, and I had much the same reaction. It's even worse that it's Dallas he supposedly wants to go to. He has a better shot winning another ring in Baltimore that he does in "Big D."
Our money would be better invested in Jason Brown.

I've said let him go and sign our younger talent, maybe now Bischotti will listen as well.

****, if Ray really wants to go, then WTF, I guess we can let the guy go. Afterall, it could help us resign Jason Brown but I stil believe Ray will be a raven, and I will always believe that until he signs elsewhere.

Yeah it will suck to lose him though..last loss that really affected me was Adalius Thomas, he was my favorite linebacker we ever had...besides Ray ofcourse. It'll sting for while when he leaves but the earth will still rotate and hey we all knew we would have face this one day, even though I have to admit the thought never crossed my mind until this season.

Jeezz. Imagine our defense without him. We'd really take a step down without him in the middle. It just won't be the same. I can't believe Ray would do this though.

There is no way that this is real... What a strange story that would be a big time player that grew up in south florida in the 70's and 80's that wasn't a Dolphins fan?!? Then went to U of Miami in College and was still a COWBOYS FAN????? come on that seems a little far fetched. None of this came as a quote from Ray but a quote from DeMarcus Ware?! This is posturing on Rays part by allowing this to happen...

So true. Every time I see bad news posted like that I just try to think it's speculation or a rumor (like when I read Adalius Thomas was gonna sign with the Patriots, who I hate). But it always turns out true. We've just got too many ego's on this team.

If this is true, then what a sellout. I know football is a business, but when you're the face of a franchise like Ray is, you don't talk about going to another team during the season, after a game in which you have effectively clinched the playoffs.

Ray apparently loves $, and Dallas means $. Ray isn't committed to this team like everyone makes him out to be. He's always been out for Ray Lewis, with the exception of the whole murder thing then he was all about the city that defended him. But that's long ago, just like the Super Bowl victory is. Other then last season's run, this team with Ray hadn't won a playoff game since the real leaders of the Super Bowl team Shannon and Rod left. Ray got all the media hype about being a leader, well a leader doesn't bail on his troops and thats what he's going to do. Time for a changing of the guard and its long overdue. Don't let the door hit you on the way to Dallas Ray!

Look he never said he wanted to leave Baltimore he has just said he wants to get paid what he is worth. All this doesn't mean he is leaving town. Just that he is interested in exploring to see his real worth... lets not jump the gun and start selling him down the river !!!

Paid what he's worth, or paid for past performance? He's had a great career and will be the 2nd true Raven in the HOF, behind JO very fitting based on that draft. That being said, all this nonsense is not showing high character to me and I'd rather move on and sign younger guys who will be here for years as opposed to 1 maybe 2. You pay big money on a contract for performance in the future, not for what you did in the past. With that said, Suggs is more important then Ray Ray.

Very true and Suggs is locked up for atleast the next season and while I would like to keep Ray, over time I've drifted to the not at the cost of our future side of the debate.

Come on who is going to step in next year and fill the void? We are on the verge of a Super Bowl and are only a piece or 2 away. Why not make a run at that instead of always being like Baltimore Teams and always being in a rebuilding mode?! We are right here lets keep the pieces in place and make a run past the Steelers.

We are not on the verge of a Super Bowl. Last season is done and gone and next guarantees nothing. We have a QB going into his 2nd season and while he will likely improve on the flip side he could have a sophomore slump. Mason is another year older and there has been vague rumblings that he may retire. Clayton and DWill are still question marks in the passing game, Willis has a lot to prove, Ray Rice has the same question marks as Flacco, Leron has to show he can do it again. TE is a huge hole for us in terms of the passing game. We don't know who our starting center is, who our starting strong safety is, for that matter who our punter is because Koch is a RFA. Our corners are laughable right now, we don't know what to expect on defense with a new DC, and Harbaugh is only in his 2nd season.
How is that exactly on the verge of a Super Bowl?

Yup because all these rumors about other teams are from Ravens' fans.....
NFL Network doesn't report it
PFT doesn't report it from around the league
ESPN doesn't report it

You're the ultimate pessimist !!!!!!!
With your support we couldn't go anywhere !
Why not look at it another way and say we have a QB that is going to have another year under his belt in an offense designed by one of the best in the game. We have a veteran WR that is in tune with our QB. Clayton came on strong at the end of the season and looks like he is poised for a breakout. We have 3 running backs that are running behind a great young OL. We have a need to address in the Draft at TE and CB and we are going to return a strong nucleus of a defense that was arguably the best in the league we have a Great young coach coming off an 11-5 1st season and he has the support of arguably the best Front Office in the league and we were 1 game from the super bowl??
Do we have some needs to address of course but so does every team in the league !!!!! Don't tell me that your looking it from reality. Because your not your forever the pessimist!!

New England didn't even make the playoffs are you going to tell me they aren't a super bowl caliber team????

I know but because we have had so many teams in baltimore that are in constant rebuild mode that it doesn't surprise me he takes that stance.
A real shame that we don't notice how close we really are to having a super bowl team and maybe even a Dynasty. I mean what is the big difference between our organization and New Englands? Our focus and great track record with the draft, the ability to retain quality players and the ability to let go players that aren't part of the core that we build from. Those are marks of great organizations that can win championships. If Harbaugh turns out to be the great coach he seems he can be. It will be funny to see all these haters line up to start preaching how wonderful we are !

Cowboys | Not expected to spend big in free agency
Mon, 23 Feb 2009 08:27:32 -0800
Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he is not expected to make a big splash in free agency. "It would surprise me to see a big splash," Jones said. That would seem to eliminate the possibility of the team adding Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent LB Ray Lewis, who has expressed interest in joining the Cowboys to some players.

Well as this is good news... it is Jerry Jones so he could be blowing the smoke screen incase Ray is seriously wanting to come to Dallas. Would help Jerry in driving his price DOWN not up...
But I am sure Ozzie and crew will get something done.

I'm tell you guys. Ray's going to be a Raven next year. Our FO value's him way to much. They WILL give him the contract he wants. My only concern is Jason Brown. I pray we re-sign him and as time goes on lock up Suggs longterm as well. Screw Scott, maybe even Leonhard as much as I love him and same for Stover, if it means locking up our young stars in Suggs and Brown and keeping our heart and soul in Ray.
Ray Terrell & Jason >>>>> Stover, Leonhard Scott.

Leonhard is a fan favorite and I can agree with the sentiment that we should keep him, but do we really need him? Can't Zbi fill in for him nicely??
I think Brown will be signed before the end of the week. Most of his BIG MONEY is coming in the form of a move to Guard not center. He sees his niche is the center position. He knows the Ravens really want him in the middle not at guard...

F the cowboys.
We made it to the AFC Championship with a rookie QB, a rookie Headcoach, and a defense which was anchored by Ray Lewis.
Why would he want to leave that?? Your rich as it is Ray, stop being a greedy money hungry sports star and think about your team.

As much as I love Ray, and as great as he's been for us, all this stuff is really rubbing me the wrong way. It may just be a way to create more leverege for himself, but even if it is, this is far from the way to be going about things.
After all this franchise has done for him, after the entire city stood by him through all his troubles, this is not how we deserve to be treated. To me the whole way this FA process has been handled with Ray has been disrespectful, and a slap in the face.
Ozzie's gonna do what he can to get Ray a fair offer, and he can take it or leave it.
