With the combine over now. Who do you guys think are the best defensive ends for the 3-4?

The top guys are probably Jarron Gilbert and Tyson Jackson. The next tier probably has guys like Ziggy Hood and Chris Baker (I know some people are going to say he's too short and stocky but he played 3-4 end in college, has very long arms and the speed needed to play the position in the pros). And then someone like East Carolina's Khalif Mitchell (6-5, 318lbs, 5.09 40 and 30 reps) would probably provide good value in the later rounds.

Yep, as stated above...Jarron Gilbert and Tyson Jackson are probably the top two. I think Ziggy Hood could make a very good weakside 3-4 DE. All of those 3 will probably go late first to mid 2nd. Gilbert is my fave out of the bunch, but thats based mainly on potential.

Would Moala fit in as well?

I'd add:

Robert Ayers
Kyle Moore
Zach Potter

I think he would, surprised he slipped my mind.

Hey Death check my post above.

Yeah, he has the size and build. But i think his lack of consistency could be a killer in 3-4. Its his responsibility to stick in his lane, and im not sure he would do that.

Tyson Jackson and then Jarron Gilbert. Fili Moala too, but he's a project/depth guy. Hood's much better off in a 4-3 base.

I was kind've hoping he would have added some weight, just to add depth at NT for the 3-4.

Sammie Lee Hill intrigues me as a guy who can probably play inside or outside on the line in the 3-4 depending on the situation as a mid-round small-school guy. It's basically been covered though.

Next year with Suh, Oghobaase, Arthur Jones, Odrick, and a bunch of guys I'm forgetting should be nasty.

I'd roughly rank 'em:

Tyson Jackson
Jarron Gilbert
Fili Moala
Khalif Mitchell
Ziggy Hood
Zach Potter
Sammie Lee Hill (despite having NT size, seems more like a 3-4 DE to me)
Rulon Davis
Ricky Jean-Francois
Kyle Moore
Pannel Egboh
Darryl Richard
John Gill
Corvey Irvin
Will Johnson
Demonte Bolden
Terrance Knighton
Ra'Shon Harris

Won't rank the others. My favorite guy not at the combine is Jeremy Navarre from Maryland.

You're now the 2nd guy to mention Hill as DE. I was thinking of him and Knighton both as NT's. Anyone can to share why they're thinking DE's for them?

As far as I know he played DE in college, and he's got really nice athleticism along with good height. Seems like a guy that could play both because of his athleticism and his size, so it depends situationally but he seems to have the ability to move around a little in a 30 front, at the very least depending on the situation.

Robert Ayers

I'm not sure Ayers would be a good fit in a 3-4 at either end or OLB at his size but maybe that's just me. I think his talent and potential would be wasted there.
