I don't know if Brad was worth bringing in for 3 years but they need insurance in case Romo gets hurt

He'll only be there for one of them.

Was hoping the Giants would get him to help Eli. Would also be nice to have a backup if Eli goes down. We're done if he gets hurt during the year without a capable back up..

So they cut a old immobile player...to sign another old immobile player.

Brad Johnson > Drew Bledsoe
Atleast Bledsoe got the ball to TO on occasion. Johnson's arm would fossilize before TO could catch a pass.

Dont doubt the Pillsbury Throwboy

If his arm is weak, he'll get it to TO on screens and let TO work for his yards, something he at excels at regardless. He'll also be able to hit Witten on intermediate routes. Glenn is really the only guy who has to go deep.

Let's not kid ourselves here anyway, if Romo regresses or gets seriously injured it doesn't matter who the backup is, they aren't making the playoffs.

I hope there aren't Cowboys fans who disagree with this.

Why not? Romo could get hurt after we've locked up a playoff spot! Then who'd be right? :D
Seriously though, that's one of the main reason why I keep clamoring for Defense in the Cowboys thread. With a strong D, you don't need to be reliant on QB. Just ask Bears fans.
Let's just hope Romo doesn't develop a sudden predilection for cocaine.
