According to this report: http://dallascowboys.com/news.cfm?id=24CC297F-A3C9-F7E3-FC3BE82E71D6B47F, if Ellis comes back healthy, Wade Phillips said they will play Ellis in Merriman's position, which is the weak side, which is where Ware is now. So is Ware moving to the strong side?

If he did, what would you guys think?

I think it would work fine. He played both sides last year when Ellis went down, so this would not be ground shaking.

Apparently, that's what Merriman plays, so that's his rationale.

Not sure how to feel. He'll use Ware in coverage more than Ellis, which is a good thing. But I think Ware would take better advantage of the chances he'll get on that weak side than Ellis. In Phillips We Trust.

Im pretty sure Wade Phillips knows what hes doing

I'll go ahead and say this. Many of you may remember that I was one of the most anti-Tuna guys. As far as Phillips goes, he has my trust until he loses it. I wasn't being sarcastic when I said "In Wade We Trust". That's gonna be my motto until I see what he can do with our Boys in a game.

I predict that Wade will lose Ward's trust two weeks into the preseason.

Don't joke.

If he's trying to maximize Ellis' abilities, which I think he is, then I think it's a very good idea. You want Ellis doing what he does best and limiting his coverage responsibilities, especially coming off the injury. I'm excited!

Wait, he said that Ellis will play Merriman's role....isnt that SOLB? I thought Merriman lined up on the strongside more often.

It doesn't really matter. Theres almost no distinction between the rushbackers in Wade's defense. They both have the same responsibilities for the most part, and they'll both get moved around often.
