I know this is a big request to ask but I'm a lions fan so please feel bad for me and answer this. What type of defense did Schwartz run and could you a position by position description of what type of size, speed, athleticism is ideal for that postion. For example DE: 6'3 270 quick and agile gets to quarterback or 6'6 300 run stopper. Thanks in advance.

This should go in the Titans team forum.

i would say gunther has a bit more say in the matter but so far everything has been quiet except for one article. basically it's all a guess right now until after the draft but we're pretty sure he's running a 4-3 with more blitzing by the linebackers, safeties, and corners. we're not running that tampa crap anymore and from now on getting to the quarterback is not just the line's job.

imo, his defensive line is built from inside out

DC's don't decide the defense a team plays, the HC makes those decisions. By hiring Gunther, if he was Schwartz's choice, then Schwartz probably liked what he heard from Gunther about what kind of defense he perfers when he interviewed him but in the end, the HC still decides which kind of defense the team will play.

Actually, he runs a 4-3 that relies heavily on the defensive line getting pressure. He rarely blitzes. When he does it's a corner or a safety blitz. He rarely blitzes at all and even when he does, it's even rarer he blitzes linebackers. He also uses guys with prototype size. If you look at the Titans starting defensive lineup, I'd say all of the starters are prototype size except for Tulloch.
