So let's get to the important issue.

Are they both top quality draft experts? Is one better than the other? Are they both chuck-headed windbags?

I've always cautiously respected Kiper's opinion. He always seems well prepared and has some insight.

I don't know as much about McShay, but after seeing him on ESPN this morning, it doesn't seem like he knows as much as the average poster here, let alone the smart guys.

The Analysis:

Kiper: Long frame, lacks punch in the running game, impervious to concussion

McShay: Younger, flashier, questionable football IQ?

First one to say one of them has a nice bubble loses.

We should make this a royal rumble and add in Mike Mayock.

Going to have to choose Kiper as he is the media father of the Draft. IMO they're all boring, McShay is dumb

Are we allowed to bash Kiper?

I like Kiper. he's quirky. and he is the draft. seeing him on TV gives me draft wood.

i also love his speech impediment that makes it impossible for him to say a prospect's name without immediately stating their school and position.

you can bash kiper... but you cannot bash the hair.

ya really can't bash that hair...even with a baseball bat. it cannot be damaged. if he ever played football, he wouldn't need a helmet.

I hear there is an velociraptor on the loose in a ferrari. Maybe he could bash it.

With hair, he could bash;
However, the raptor would win.

McShay pisses me off. Plus his resume isn't good enough to be in that spot.

14. No knocking Mel Kiper, Jr.

a) Regardless of how you feel about him he is "The Godfather" of the NFL Draft and all draftniks owe him a debt of gratitude for helping to make it the event that it is today.

Please be aware of Rule 14. I don't want to close the thread, but you know.

I like them all honestly. They aren't idiots like some of you say. They're making a living off of what we do for a hobby. They obviously are smart. What influences your opinion on them is your opinion on their more well-informed opinion than yours. Just because they differ in preferences doesnt make them an idiot.

That being said, I think McShay goes against the grain too much. He is flashy with his opinions and goes for the longshot too much and doubts the proven too much.

I like them all because even if they are completely wrong (in our opinions) they provide entertainment and discussion about the draft and prospects, which is always interesting. And probably the reason I joined this site.

Scott Wright > All.

Scott Wright should be on TV over Kiper or McShay. And that's the damn truth.

Mike Mayock has the most overall football knowledge, Kiper has the most balls (willing to go out on a limb), and McShay has a pretty good grasp of what teams are thinking. I like McShay for mock drafts, but I prefer Mayock and Kiper in terms of actual prospect analysis.

it's difficult to determine not only the skill of college athletes and to how they will perform... but then to evaluate closed door front offices and determine their motives and watch pro teams play and what their needs REALLY are and match up all three of them... really, anyone who does it has to guess on a lot of things...

Somebody tell me how Mayock is better than Kiper? From what I have seen Mayock is spot on with SOME of his positional evaluations particularly defensive backs. He is really bad with lineman evaluations. Kiper overall is a lot more solid imo.

McShay couldn't carry Mayock's or Kiper's jock strap.

I am forever a Mayock disciple because he somehow, someway, predicted Donte Whitner #8 to the Bills in 2006

Mel Kiper gives me wood, no joke. Couldn't imagine the draft without him. I dislike McShay

I don't mind McShay, but he isn't in Kiper's league. Honestly though, it's the draft that's the real star. Put someone on TV who is a halfway decent communicator with some interesting info related to the Draft, and I'm sucked right in.

Id have to say slightly McShay over Kiper.

Kiper looks like a space alien with that huge head.

Id like to see in an MMA fight. Id take Kiper by TKO
