Anyone else love St. Patties? My entire family is Irish, and its my favorite holiday of the year. I love it more then my birthday. I went out today and bought a bunch of St. Patrick's day ****, I'll post some more pictures after the festivities tomorrow, is anyone else getting hammered? I'm boycotting all classes and assignments and getting hammered. Who else is excited?

Happy birthday buddy!

And I love St Patties day, ode to my people! This afternoon my friend and I went to the local liquor store and had them order a 1/2 barrel of Killians. Im hoping they get it early, around noon, so that we can get things started.

My buddy who works in the meat department at a local grocery store also picked up filet mignon, ribeyes, ribs, & crab legs so we can grill all day & night.

Grilling steaks & ribs isnt Irish, its the spirit that counts.

And Killians is still originally from Ireland, the recipe isn't quite the same as it was originally in the 1800's but things don't always stay the same.

I'm 2nd Gen Irish-American, and I find it fairly disrespectful when I see a bunch of retards running around wearing green and drinking Guinness to act like they're Irish for a day... Especially when they start doing shots of Bushmills (Protestant liquor on a Catholic holiday?)...

LOL @ the idea of Killian's still being Irish. Fail. Guinness is a minor failure - mostly because of the commercialism involved. Beamish is the only way to go - sooo much better than Guinness...

No, it's not. I'm done even discussing it because you are the only person on here that believes that.

Also, add in the fact that St. Patrick's Day was declared a public holiday by Ireland, the color associated with it was changed from St. Patrick's blue to Ireland's green, and Ireland embracing the the celebration of St. Patrick's day outside of Ireland and actually encouraging it in order to increase Irish cultural awareness. Yea, I'm pretty sure Ireland has little to no qualms about how St. Patrick's day is celebrated.

But, really, it's all about "Do I care?"

I really don't celebrate any holidays these days. Only reason I do Christmas is that it's an opportune time to get together with family. I do Halloween and St. Patrick's Day (sometimes New Year's) because it's a good time to hang out with friends. I will get pissed off if I see someone order Bushmills or Killians, but otherwise I tend to do a good job staying away from the crowds of people that aggrevate me.

When were the Irish slaves in America? I might understand your point if British people did it. But St. Paddy's day is essentially an Irish-American holiday.

Not to mention, I get drunk on MLK day also. I don't dress up in blackface, but I do drink 40s.

If you get offended by St Paddy's day, you really need to chill the **** out. Do you also have a problem with American's drinking Corona's on Cinco de Mayo?

Relax, you only have one life. Might as well enjoy it, rather than bitching about, and being offended by completely insignificant things.

Plus, I think someone wearing blackface on MLK day would be ******* awesome. But I think being offended is a waste of time and energy. Plus I am a middle class white, so...

I'm not going out tonight, but I am going to finish off a six pack of Killian's.

I'm Mexican, and i have a problem with that..

Because Corona is the crappiest Mexican Beer you can possibly drink. Modelo FTW!

Tecate is nice and cheap and it's pretty damn good. And Corona tastes ******* awful. I don't know how people can drink that piss.

I swear Tecate and XX don't have any alcohol in them. Whenever I drink either one i feel no effects.

Guiness pints and Irish car bombs ftw!

Woops, sorry, are Irish car bombs offensive because they imply the Irish drink Guiness and Jamisons?

Read up on the Provisional Irish Republican Army. You'll see why that is offensive.

I don't read up. I assume drinking two irish liquors is embracing my heritage. I win at being Irish.

**** no, Tecate is the worst beer in existence. Corona's aren't good, but they are much better than Tecate. Give me a Pacifico any day.

NYC has the highest Irish population in the world. That includes Boston and Dublin.

Yes, but St Paddy's day was primarily celebrated by the Boston Irish, which is why it has such a huge St Paddy's Day celebration.

This past weekend, while San Francisco was celebrating St. Patrick's Day, I was walking down the street at night and happened across an upturned green bowler hat on the sidewalk filled to the brim with puke. It seemed to sum up the holiday rather well.

Happy St. Patricks day (although I'm 4 minutes late on the west coast).

In my same work clothes as yesterday...with bed head and smelling strongly of alcohol. Debating if it is unethical to have a hangover puke at work. So many people were out last night...it was a ruckus....free drinks from 5:30-7:30 owned me.

Just so everyone knows, St Paddy's Day isn't really even an Irish holiday. It is an Irish-American holiday. The celebration in Boston is much bigger than the celebration in Dublin.

South Boston on St. Patrick's day (and the sunday when the parade is if the holiday is during the week) is absolutely insane. If anybody has a chance to go there that day, definitely do it at least once

I'm Irish as well (Driscoll is a common Irish name for those of you that do not know) and I was a mess last night. I watched my Wings beat the Flyers with all my friends from Philly with my Canadian Beer (I know I know). It was awesome though. Wore a green red wings shirt.
