I think the camera angle and rustling of the camera makes it appear that it strikes out, but I've watched it slow for awhile, and I don't see it doing anything other than raising it's head.

Bird eating spider is scarier, because it's right in someone's neighborhood! You're not going to encounter a snake that big unless you live in the jungle with tribes or go looking for one.

But imagine waking up, going to the bathroom to take a piss, and then seeing a bird dangling and getting owned by a spider that size! If I saw that I calling the police, animal control, FBI, and the army!

I agree with you all, spiders are way scarier then snakes...I actually own a snake, hes a 3.5 foot long ball python...he is a softie though, wouldnt hurt a fly...but I could never own a spider. In fact, if I could eliminate anything from the face of the earth, it would be spiders. Followed by socks. I ******* hate socks too.

I think they just overblown. Very few people in America have ever seen one in person and the likelihood of us ever seeing one is near impossible.

You know what scares the **** out of me (besides that bird-attacking spider)? The Brown Recluse spider.

Lol, read this, from the same story but from Fox News

Oddly, the Brazilian spider delivers more than a painful bite that sends most victims to the hospital. Researchers have found its venom also stimulates an hours-long erection in men.

Patients not only experience overall pain and an increase in blood pressure, they also get an uncomfortable erection.

In Brazil, emergency room staff can immediately spot the victims of a bite.

"The erection is a side effect that everybody who gets stung by this spider will experience along with the pain and discomfort," said study team member Romulo Leite of the Medical College of Georgia, presumably speaking only about male bite victims.

"We're hoping eventually this will end up in the development of real drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction."

I'm an optimist, I'd put it to good use and I'd go on a rampage. After all, the only uncomfortable erection is the one that does not find a purpose.
