Since 1970, assuming that Matthew Stafford goes #1 overall, there will have been 17 QBs selected #1 overall in the NFL draft. Now, my question is, I would like them to be ranked as who is the mostly physically gifted base on "arm strength, size, release, and any other physical skill that comes to mind. Remember these ranking are not based on the career of the specific indivuals, but based soley on the physical skills, it doesn't matter if the player was a boom or bust, that is not the question, so please based thi on phsyical skills only.

Michael Vick is #1 easily if you ask me. Yes, he was short but his arm combined with athleticism is something we probably won't see for a very long time.

How many of these "gifted QB" threads are we going to have.

Elway, Vick, JaMarcus in some order.

Vick or Russell are the most Phyically Gifted.

Vick has great speed, great arm and average size
Russell has one of the best arms ever, great size and decent speed

What do you mean? I think a better thread would be "Who was more physically gifted, Vick or Elway?" :D

Vick, for being a ridiculous athlete with a cannon, Jamarcus, for being untackleable with a giant arm a la C-Pep before he decided to start sucking complete ass, and Elway for having exceptional athleticism, a big arm and a "faster than the rex cannon decides to go deep" release.

there should be a rule against making threads that have the word "ever" in there title... best ever worst ever most ever... yea talk to me at the end of time as thats what ever includes and also no matter what criteria you use to declare said winner... your still wrong

How about the next thread ranks the best poker playing QB's taken #1 overall. The ones who can finish stage 1-1 of super mario brothers the fastest?

How about which one would have been most likely to have cured cancer had they not decided to play football.

Peyton Manning. He could have cured cancer. But he became a football player instead.

These threads pop up too often :)

The next one should be Ranked the best Prospect, #1 overall QB

or... maybe we could stop talking about quarterbacks all the time and just rank #1 overall picks :)

It's probably Vick first, Elway second, Palmer third, and Russell fourth.

People forget what a great athlete Palmer was before his knee got shredded.

It's either Vick or JaMarcus Russell, depending on how much value you place on mobility and size, respectively. Elway is up there, too.

just on raw talent, it has to be Vick no question. Elway and Russell can be 2 or 3.

Vick? Non-sense.

Steve Young was, for the USFL in 1984 and then again as the #1 pick in the NFL Supplemental draft... oh, are we talking about the regular NFL draft?

How nobody has mentioned Randall Cunningham, Steve Young and Fran Tarkenton beats me...

My list goes
1. Vick
2. Elway
3. Cunningham
4. McNabb
5. Young (Steve, not Vince)
6. Brett Farve (his arm alone gets him on this list).
7. C Pep
8. Jamarcus Russell
9. Fran Tarkenton
10. Steve McNair

Oh and Carson along with Peyton and Elway are the 3 easiest#1 overall picks of the last quarter century when talking about QBs. If Vick, Russel and Paler were in the same draft Carson would drafted 100 times out of a 100. I hate these athlete or best physically, because Peyton, Marino, Brady, Montana and Elway are the best QBs of all time and only one of them is even considered mildy athletic.

Get real, teams look for leaders, arm strength, accuracy, physical tools, vision, size, work ethic, and an overall sense of understanding the game and being able to slow the game down in their head. Russell nor Vick could do all of these things that why this debate is ridiculous.

you're praising jamarcus russell for his intangibles? i've heard he's dumb as bricks.

vick is the most complete QB with respect to being physically gifted and having off-the-chart intangibles. vick made the falcons relevant every game they played, they were never out of it. it was like watching a madden game when he was in his zone. i miss seeing him play...

Jordyzzz is the answer to every question regarding intellect, size, and athleticism. He can play any position and doubles as our head coach sometimes. He's better than a QB, he's Jordyzzz.
