1) Detriot...M. Stafford q.b. georgia
big armed, franchise caliber q.b. with great intangibles that is known for throwing the deep ball...seems like the perfect compliment to megatron and should be comfortable running detriots power run/playaction offense....should be starting by week 6 if not sooner.

2) S.L....A. Smith l.t. alabama
best run blocking o.t. that I have ever seen coming out of college and has much longer arms than most expected..franchise left tackle.

3) K.C. ...A. Curry lb wake forest
versatile prospect that can play slb if you stay in the 4-3 or ilb if you go 3-4...great in coverage on blitzes and tremednous in run support...has the production and measuarables of a top 5 pick and will require attention from blockers which will help free up the monster glen dorsey.

4) Sea...E. Monroe l.t. virginia
extremely fluid left tackle prospect excels in pass protection and can develope into a very good run blocker...comes from a program that is pumping out great l.t. prospects of late....franchise left tackle.

5) Cleveland...M. Crabtree w.r. tex tech
extremely productive w.r. with ideal size, tremendous hands and a great feel for the game....reminds me of q. boldin after the catch and would give brady a fitz/boldin type duo to work with.

6) Cinci...J. Smith l.t. baylor
extremely good pass blocker that will extend palmers career protecting his blindside...an investment here is a no brainer and jason is perfect for your scheme.

7) Oak...B.J. Raji d.t. b.c.
huge penetrator in the mold of ngata and haynes worth...will free up kelly and the rest of your defense...had a great combine and is great value here.

8) Jax...J. Maclin w.r. mizzou

dont be fooled by the 40 time guys...he ran the fastest cone drill in the entire draft and faster than any of last years corners as well!..he has extremely fluid hips, is very physical at the line and has a great feel for the game...tremendous ballskills and hands...could lead the league in picks and make a run for rookie of the year because of q.b.'s throwing away from champ.

13) Washington...M. Johnson d.e. g.t.
athletic freak may be the best pure athlete in the draft...has better production than most realize and tremendous upside...fills a huge need at great value here and should get alot of 1 on 1 chances with haynesworth in the middle.

14) N.O. ...C. Wells r.b. ohio state
power back with very good speed and one of the best stiff arms in the buisness...will give the saints a younger version of deuce and that element should allow reggie bush to become a 1000/1000 yard threat.

15) Houston...S. Smith c.b./s utah
c.b/s hybrid with is a tremendous athlete with very good size and great production...had an outstanding combine and proday...i see him as more of a safety that can come down to matchup on recievers like a c.b. and throw some real curveballs at the offense...either way he will take advantage of whats becoming a great young front 7.

physical d.e. that gets after the q.b. very well for a man his size...fills a need and fits your scheme to perfection at great value here.

18) Chicago...H. Nicks w.r. unc
extremely productive w.r. with ideal size and perhaps the best hands in the draft along with crabs...very good run blocker which could help spring some long runs for forte and set up some nice bubble screens to hester whom he compliments to perfection...I think dhb is a better prospect but considering scheme, what you guys have in place already and ortons relatively weak arm nicks is a much better fit.

extremly fast w.r. with very good hands and ideal size...his speed compliments flacco's arm to perfection and will help keep the box lean for our running game...dhb is a very good run blocker and dangerous on reverses and bubble screen plays so he will have no problem fitting into our offense while gradually improving his routes and developing into flacco's carreer #1 w.r.

31) Arizona...L. McCoy r.b. pitt

I like your mocks, but you seem to make them all the time with out tons of changes lol

Andre isn't really in the running for 2nd overall, I would be flabbergasted if they took him over J Smith and Monroe. Michael Johnson and Gilbert both seem like reaches, although not impossible.

Good Bronco picks

Beatty is a stretch as their number 1 and probably could be had at their first pick in second round, they don't need a TE with their #2 and they don't need a running back with their 3rd pick. Jacobs, Bradshaw and Danny Ware trio is not going to get better unless they jump up for Wells and trade one of their 3.

GMEN picks should go as follows:
1) LB - Matthews or Stimtin or Laurenitis
2) WR - Britt, Robiskie or Nicks
3) Oline - Jamon Robinson or Duke Robinson or Beatty or Unger if they are still around, or a Safety - Patrick Chung

Baltimore's draft isn't bad, but Irvin seems like a stretch in the third. Better than Boone though lol.

Edit - No way Jerry falls that far into the second round, if into the 2nd at all.

Good Bronco picks

1) I update it every 3 days or so due to free agency...had to give the seahawks an olb and take a olb from the lions which shook up the rest of the draft.

2) Andre is EASILY the best o.t. in this class...dont get caught up in the "bad character" hype...I wouldnt be surprised if detriot took him.

3) Johnson is an amazing athlete with better production than most think...he has the highest upside in this class imho.

4) gilbert is a beast and could develope into a justin tuck clone.

I know tall reciever is priority #1 but the value isnt good for one (with britt gone) until the third when aron kelly or ramses barden should be available...the other picks were simply great value.

the only reason i dropped boone is becasue of the orlando pace rumors...irvin is solid and would be a great fit.

hood has surpassed jerry as the #2 d.t. in my book...the colts get a steal, thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

I'm not caught up in "bad character" hype...I'm caught up in "out of shape" and "bad workouts" hype.

And I really doubt the lions took him considering they are talking contracts with guys not name Andre Smith.

their taking stafford but if they go o.t. it will be andre smith and you can quote me on that....jason and monroe simply doesnt fit th power run/p.a. scheme that they are developing...they're both liabilities in the run game.

"out of shape"...lol...you do realize he was lighter at his proday than at any point during the season....and what "bad workout" are you talking about?...jason smith did more bench reps so that means he will be a stronger run blocker????...lol

Alright buddy...you seem pretty set in your ways lol

good luck finding people that agree that Andre Smith is in contention for number 1 and that he will be taken before JSmith/Monroe

no point in commenting on mocks if constructive ideas are simply shot down.

i hear ya and i reshuffle my mock all the time thru constructive ideas...but having jason and monroe ahead of andre isnt an "idea", it's the norm...if a position is wrong or a trade happened that I overlooked thats one thing but to tell me to change my pick based off your o.t. tackle rankings isnt going to happen.

o.t.
1) andre smith
2) e. monroe
3) j. smith
4) m. oher
5) w. beatty

Nice Raiders picks except the center in the 3rd, Satele will start and we won't take a center. Give us Ramses Barden. Although neither Delmas or Barden have Davis type speed, but they're close and Zach Miller didn't have Davis speed either. Murphy may be a better WR in the 3rd though.

amazing patriots draft, but i agree with bigburt, barwin will be gone late first/early second in my opinion

That would be a great first day for the Pats, first 4 picks all on defense at positions of need.

Gardner is a solid pick in the third too, we could use a couple of linemen.

The Saints WILL NOT reach for Sean Smith at #14 and definitely would not take him over Wells. The Saints beileve in taking the BPA. There is no way Smith is the best player available at #14.

The only thing I would change for the Colts draft is have them take WR Hakeem Nicks over Percy Harvin. Then it's a GREAT draft. I would love it if we could somehow get Jerry in the 2nd instead of the 1st.

59) Carolina...J. Meredith l.t. s. carolina
nimble and natural left tackle would form a great young set of bookends with otah...great upside.

so i guess jordan gross was just a waste

Well, you won't jump off that DHB bus but I've learned theres no arguing with that one....

But we would so jump on Britton in the 2nd there. I'm still iffy on him in the first, but i know it'd be considered, but in the 2nd....man....the value and need totally sync up. So I'd take him there and then take Sidbury in the 3rd.

That'd be so much more awesome.

If you replaced Brown with Eric Wood or Clay Matthews that draft would be orgasmic, pretty baller as is.

The only thing I would change for the Colts draft is have them take WR Hakeem Nicks over Percy Harvin. Then it's a GREAT draft. I would love it if we could somehow get Jerry in the 2nd instead of the 1st.
I can't believe you would complain about Harvin/Jerry/Freeman, 1985. That's a ridiculous haul. Sometimes you make me want to pull my hair out. :p

Especially as Nicks isn't a Colts receiver.

their taking stafford but if they go o.t. it will be andre smith and you can quote me on that....jason and monroe simply doesnt fit th power run/p.a. scheme that they are developing...they're both liabilities in the run game.

"out of shape"...lol...you do realize he was lighter at his proday than at any point during the season....and what "bad workout" are you talking about?...jason smith did more bench reps so that means he will be a stronger run blocker????...lol

haha okay mister.
A. Andre Smith isn't going #1. No chance in hell

B. An jus cuz a guy is lighter doesnt mean hes in better shape. He coulda been more in shape during the season at a bigger weight then he is now being smaller.

C. Just cause Michael Johnson has as much or more upside then anyone in the draft doesnt mean hes an elite talent

Nice Raiders picks except the center in the 3rd, Satele will start and we won't take a center. Give us Ramses Barden. Although neither Delmas or Barden have Davis type speed, but they're close and Zach Miller didn't have Davis speed either. Murphy may be a better WR in the 3rd though.

i had murphy goping there for the longest time but you convinced me to go center...which is it?

That would be an amazing Patriots draft, but I highly doubt Barwin falls all the way to the end of the 2nd round.

i was thinking about giving barwin to the niners and sliding larry english down to you guys...either way it's a nice fit imho.

The Saints WILL NOT reach for Sean Smith at #14 and definitely would not take him over Wells. The Saints beileve in taking the BPA. There is no way Smith is the best player available at #14.

I love me some beanie but what do you know about smith?...he's the best free safety in the draft and also a top 5 corner.

I think Kruger in the third would be a better Niner mock I do like it though.

i gave you guys an olb in round 2...why do you need another one?...is lawson o.k.?

The Texans will not take a RB in the first round as long as Kubs is there. Wells would be a nice back up to Slaton, but you dont take back ups in the first round. I believe they will wait a take a RB in the 3rd or 4th. The pick will be a USC OLB.

1) dhb is a beast and has the size to compliment hester.

2)I'm not that high on britton...ayers is a better prospect and a steal at that point.

3) ayers/tupou > britton/sidbury imho.

a) you wouldnt dare say that september thru december...lol..he has been wayyy better than both of them his entire career and is better than both of them as we speak...my ONLY question was his arm length but he measured in with the second longest arms behind loadholt.

b) I see what your saying but it has no merit in this case.

c) I dont think you get your point...johnsons "talent" and potential puts him ahead of other d.e.'s that might have had a better statistical year.

this a, b, c thing is getting annoying.
If Michael Johnson has such elite skills an is worth a top 15 pick, then how come he didnt dominate in college?

Mr. Hero
03-24-2009, 04:34 PM

Please don't listen to this man, just the fact that he lists Laurnaitis as a good idea for the giants should seal the deal since we don't need a WLB with Boley singed or a MLB with AP backed up by Goff. We could still use an upgrade at SLB so a guy like Sintim or Matthews would make sense, but not in the first round. Beatty's a great pick but he most likely won't last til our pick.

he outplayed your boy monroe (whom you think is better than andre smith lol) this year.

That 1st rounder would be amazing.
Unger isn't bad, I think Wood is a better fit but we almost have to take a Center in the 2nd.
In the 3rd I would much rather take Kruger or a RB. The only DT worth taking for us before round 4 or 5 is Raji.

so? he was on a pass happy team. of course his stats are gonna be huge, but he sucked against top opponents.

Getting someone like Glen Coffee in the fourth would be a much smarter route. Having Wells and Slaton looks good on paper but Houston isn't a team that will just pound the ball like a Carolina or Tennessee especially considering the fact that the defense cannot stop anyone consistently. You have to ask yourself why would the Texans take a first round RB when they passed on Mendenhall last year before Slaton was even on the roster. It is just a real long shot at best that this happens.

Decent Miami draft, although Byrd and Pryor seem extremely high at those two spots.

Overall, I like how those Vikings picks played out, but C is not anywhere near as big of a need as RT is, and with Eben Britton available, we have to take him, I understand you are very low on him, but he will definitely bygone by the first couple of picks of the second round, if he even makes it that far.

Horrible skins draft. Johnson is way too much of a risk at 13. Sidbury and tupuo are both there at our pick in the 3rd and would be better then Phillips
