View Full Version : Trading up?
Probably 90% of Skins fans want to trade down on draft day, myself included. Obviously we have no second round pick and trading down would allow us to address more needs. But with a smaller amount of "impact" players than usual in this years draft class what is everyones thoughts on the idea of moving up a few spots if one of the big prospects falls a little bit. I could see the Raiders, Jags, and Packers as teams that might try to move down a few spots.
I wouldn't do it for this years 3rd rounder but what if it was a future 3rd rd pick plus this years 5th or something like that. Here are the guys that I could see the Redskins being interested in moving up for if they fell into the 7-10 range:
-Brian Orakpo
-Michael Crabtree
-BJ Raji
-Aaron Curry
-Eugene Monroe

Maybe Monroe or Curry if they drop a little. The others I don't think are worth it.

No one is gonna trade from 5-10 down to 13 for a 5th round pick this year and a 3rd next year.

i never said 5. im thinking 8 9 or 10. the difference between 9 and 13 is only 200 points on the value chart which is a mid third round pick. if a team thinks they can get the guy at 13 that they want why wouldnt they. for example maybe jax and maclin or something like that.

Moving down 6 spots and only getting a 5th rounder in return? No chance of that happening.

I'd do it for Monroe/Curry/Raji.
I think we could have a shot at landing Rak at 13 and Crab would be nice but we have too many other needs.

No you said next years 3rd. No team is going to move down 6 spots and the only thing they gain in this years draft is a 5ht round pick.
And you said 7-10 range, 13-7=6 6 spots
