Im interested to see how you think last years prospects would be ranked if they were prospects for the upcoming draft. Please try not to let last years rookie success' make you bias...rank them together as prospects :)
For instance...
RB:
1: Darren McFadden
2: Rashard Mendenhall
3: Jonathan Stewart
4: Beanie Wells
5: Knowshon Moreno
6: Donald Brown
7: Matt Forte
8: Lesean Mccoy
9: Kevin Smith
10: Felix Jones
Thats just a quick example...but you get the idea ;)

Mannn, OT's a hard one to rank. Props for even attempting it :|
And i thought about Chris Johnson, but all those other RB's were definative 1st to 2nd rounders...CJ was widely viewed as a 2nd to 3rd rounder, and seens as a reach by the Titans. But heck...it sure payed off! XD
EDIT: In fact scratch that...i was thinking about Johnsons projection before his absurd combine resluts. Yeah i'd probably rank him in the 6 to 10 range.

Thanks yeah it was a tad tough. I think an idea of like comparing the top 10 at each position over like the past 5 or so drafts would be neat too.

I'd put Flowers at 3 and I was just coming up with something kinda quick on the tackles.

I absolutely love Flowers. He's on of my favorite defensive players in the NFL and was amazing at VaTech. But I still don't think he's be the #3 CB at 5'9 with a high 4.5 forty.

Yeah i'll second that man. I had a boner for Flowers for years. But as far as prospects go, i couldnt put him that high.

I'm just glad so many teams thought he was to small and slow to go first round so the Chiefs could steal him in round two suckers....:)

I don't think Desean Jackson should be ranked that high. He is good, don't get me wrong, but I think he is neck and neck with Harvin. Maclin should be number 2 since last years WR was about depth, and not quality.

Purely from "as a prospect" and "how I thought of them as prospects":
1) Jonathan Stewart
2) Rashard Mendenhall
3) Ray Rice
4) Beanie Wells
5) Knowshon Moreno
6) Felix Jones
7) Darren McFadden
8) Chris Johnson
9) LeSean McCoy
10) Matt Forte
11) Donald Brown
12) Shonn Greene
I guess I'm the only one who liked last seasons RBs a lot better than this year's?
Being completely honest, this is probably how it look. I was and still am really confident in Ray Rice, though I admit being surprised at how effective he's been as third down back. I really liked Steve Slaton, but I didn't expect him to be more than a role player. I was really down on McFadden - he's done much better than I thought. Matt Forte, I confess, I hadn't really studied. All I knew was big guy who runs well - should've done my homework.
McCoy, Greene, Brown - for me, they're at pretty much the same level as prospects. They're entirely different runners, mind, but I still have questions about each of them that holds them back for me. Brown, I want to see more physical, and I wonder if he's hit his peak. Greene, I question the speed and if he's just a one-year wonder. McCoy, I'm slightly more confident in his game, but I also saw some bad habits when he struggled - the Sun Bowl, I saw him trying to bounce stuff outside, pull some fancy moves and ending up losing yardage.
I'm more confident in Moreno, but that's probably just bias.

Personally, I like Monroe more than Smith but I just put JS higher of the two because he's the favorite right now. I should have put Monroe #1, but you already quoted my post. I know Jake Long was just awesome in college, but many had serious questions on whether he could play LT in the pros. He did prove doubters wrong with a real solid season but at the draft, some thought he'd be a RT. Although he was the #1 pick, he was almost nobodies #1 player. Most had Chris Long, DMac and Dorsey ranked ahead of him. Similar situation this year but Nobody question Monroe's/Smith's ability to play LT. That's what gave them the very slight edge on the rankings.
