Brown Leader
03-27-2009, 02:51 PM
First day. Out the box I think.
anyone know this line..
"you don't want the boot" Cube.
Proposed trades:
Peppers to NE for the #23, #47 (hasn’t signed the tender yet
which could mean he’s serious about leaving and waiting
for his agent to put the deal in place)
Vikings trade up to S.D.#16 and give up their #86 and a 010’ cond. (thinking the
Vikings are real likely to go after a NFL ready QB prospect )
Panthers trade up with the #23pk (they get from NE) to NY Jets #17 for their #59
(Panthers locked up Jake but can’t be serious about him still
as long term starter.)
Lions trade back up to #26 giving the #33 ,#65 to Baltimore. (three blue
chip at key needs better than 5 so so’s and they still have a 3rd .)
ROUND 1
___________________________________________
1 Detroit: Matthew Stafford QB
Got the bazooka and can run-he’ll need to-offensively the
Lions have other skill positions in place and the QB is
harder to fill than the OT.
2 St. Louis: Jason Smith OT
Rams need to take the best LT in this class-Smith?
3 Kansas City: Aaron Curry LB
Chief Curry
4 Seattle: Eugene Monroe OT
Hard to figure where the Hawks will look. Monroe is a top
5 LT prospect and drafting Jones replacement looks to make
the most sense for the Hawks.
5 Cleveland: Michael Crabtree WR
Slowly coming around to this-WR situation making Crabtree almost
a necessity. OC Daboll’s WR’s in NE were playmakers and more quick
than fast-Crab fits that mold.
6 Cincinnati: Andre Smith OT
Character concerns a little overblown with Smith-Lewis will make him
work and he can hold down the right at a high level. With the defense
finally stepping up thanks to Zimmer the Bengals have to protect Carson
and continue to run the ball like they did late in the season.
7 Oakland: B.J. Raji DT
Even though it didn’t look like it last season J.Walker is a #1
WR. The Raiders will be a beast of a running team and if
they hold up better against the run could force opponents to
tap out.
8 Jacksonville: Percy Harvin WR
I’ve been a fan of Harvin and his pro day performance finally justifies him
as a potential top 15. Del Rio has shown no problem reaching for his guys
and will let Percy do his thing for the Jags offense. Holt (if signed)
would make an ideal tutor for Harvin.
9 Green Bay: Brian Orakpo LB/DE
If Kevin Greene can’t make a pro bowler out of Orakpo
no one will.
10 San Francisco: Everette Brown LB/DE
More than just a rush specialist with coaching.
11 Buffalo: Peria Jerry DT
Pass rush is the pressing need and Jerry will provide that.
12 Denver: Aaron Maybin DE/LB
High upside 34 OLB the converting Bronco defense
can’t pass.
13 Washington: Michael Oher OT
Pressing need is filled-Skins could only hope he’s still on the board.
14 New Orleans: Chris Wells RB
Beanie is the closer the Saints needed in 08’ and is too good of a
prospect to pass. Jenkins is not a great fit for the Saints man scheme.
and the addition of vets Sharper/Prioleau makes S slight less need.
15 Houston: Malcolm Jenkins DB
Whether it’s at CB or FS Jenkins should upgrade the Texans defense.
16 TRADE Minnesota: (via San Diego) Mark Sanchez QB
Vikings make the move for their new franchise QB and the Chargers are
happy to move down and acquire more picks.
17 TRADE Carolina (via N.Y. Jets) Robert Ayers DE
With few premiere DE's in this class Panthers trade up for Peppers replacement
18 Chicago: Kenny Britt WR
Britt's stock is up because he's got some TO in him-
hopefully the good part.
19 Tampa Bay: Josh Freeman QB
Hate settling for this as it's becoming cliche in
most mocks but reasoning makes since as long as Morris
indeed thinks highly of the guy
20 Detroit (from Dallas): Rey Maualuga LB
Schwartz turns the most glaring defensive weakness into a strength in an
off-season.
21 Philadelphia: Brandon Pettigrew TE
Reid will be able to run the ball this season if he chooses to. Adds a
red zone presence that’s lacking.
22 TRADE San Diego (via Minnesota): Tyson Jackson DE
Acquire picks and select blue chip prospect at their need.
23 TRADE N. Y. Jets via Car. (from NE): Jeremy Maclin WR
Home run counterpart to Jerricho and makes whichever QB better.
24 Atlanta: Brian Cushing LB
Should be handed the WLB spot.
25 Miami: Hakeem Nicks WR
Really like the nick name Miami Bey but Nicks is a true #1
prospect at WR the Fins need.
26 TRADE Detroit: (via Baltimore) William Beatty OT
Ravens can trade down and still fill needs while the Lions
get a needed LT with a 3rd 1st rd pick.
27 Indianapolis: Evander Hood DT
Should be the defensive steal of the 1st round for the Colts.
28 Philadelphia from Carolina: Knowshon Moreno RB
Expect a trade up for Knowshon (Browns?) but he fills Eagles
need of a power compliment in 09’and can take over the reins
eventually.
29 N.Y. Giants: Darrius Heyward-Bey
Helps counter the absence of Plax if Eli can throw that far.
30 Tennessee: Eben Britton OT
If they’re aren’t ant 1st rd grade WR available the Titans are
in a position to take the best value. Depth at T and
G is thin which means Collins is an injured OL away from
becoming a disaster because he’s a totally different QB
under pressure.
31 Arizona: Larry English LB
Starting OLB for the Cards full fledged 34 defense.
32 Pittsburgh: Max Unger OL
Could start at LG or Upgrade at C.
ROUND 2
____________________________________________
33 TRADE Baltimore: (via Detroit) Darius Butler CB
The man scheme the Ravens run fits the abilities of Butler more so
than Sean Smith.
34 New England (from Kansas City): Eric Wood OL
Competes for a start inside-provides depth(in a pinch RT) and
long replacement for Coppen.
35 St. Louis: Donald Brown RB
Jackson Brown-Spags new band.
36 Cleveland: Conner Barwin DE/LB
Reach? Upside through the roof for Rob Ryan to groom…er
coach up.
37 Seattle: Louis Delmas S
Russell’s starting days over.
38 Cincinnati: Alex Mack OL
Pressing need.
39 Jacksonville: Alphonso Smith CB
New DC Tucker can coach this 5’9er up to be a great starter.
40 Oakland: Patrick Chung S
Ka-Chung!
41 Green Bay: Ron Brace DT
Key cog in the new 34.
42 Buffalo: Michael Johnson DE
Expecting to score some points the Bills might go for their
pass rush with gusto-all Johnson needs to do for now is what he
does best-fly upfield and chase.
43 San Francisco: Vontae Davis CB
We’re brothers-we’re happy and we’re singing- Singletary
smackin r egos cause we’re full of... Give us a hi-five. lol….
Headcase drops imo and becomes a good value here.
44 Miami (from Washington): Sean Smith CB
Physical Cromartie sized CB can compete/handed start as rookie.
45 N.Y. Giants (from New Orleans): Duke Robinson G
BOPA after off season attention on the D line.
46 Houston: Clay Matthews LB
Texans looking for a SLB and a situational rusher/blitzer.
47 TRADE Carolina (from NE (from SD): Marcus Freeman LB
Upgrades the SLB spot making an elite athletic LB corp.
48 Denver: Coye Francies CB
Young and willing to learn from the best
49 Chicago: Paul Kruger DE/LB
Energetic hustler can contribute immediately
50 Cleveland (from Tampa Bay): Jarius Byrd S
Pool might be more suited for SS and Byrd’s ballhawking could help the CBs
Frees up WR/RB/QB/RS/Gnr Cribbs from some PR duties.
51 Dallas: Brian Robiskie WR
Hands, height should help out Romo.
52 N.Y. Jets: Gerald Cadogan OT
Athletic ability and smarts to start and sing the
national anthems.
53 Philadelphia: LeSean McCoy RB
Should try being like BW now.
54 Minnesota: Phil Loadholt OT
A legitimate reach but fits the run oriented
offense well.
55 Atlanta: Will Moore S
Lawyer Milloy v. 2
56 Miami: Kraig Urbik G/T
Physical drive blocker for LG
57 Baltimore: Clint Sintim DE/LB
Versatility and toughness should blend in well.
58 New England: Rashad Johnson S
Disciplined and should be a reliable cover S
59 TRADE N.Y. Jets (via Car.): Jarron Gilbert DE
Learns the 5 tech.
60 N.Y. Giants: Andre Brown RB
Earth, earth and fire.
61 Indianapolis: Juaquin Igelsias WR
Imo could be better than prospected in the Colt offense.
62 Tennessee: D.J. Moore CB/KR
RS and could learn from Harper/Finn for a year
helping in the nickel.
63 Arizona: Andy Levitre G
Hog.
64 Pittsburgh: Victor Harris CB
Solid fit for Tomlin secondary.
ROUND 3
___________________________________________
65 TRADE Baltimore (via Det) Mohamed Massaquoi WR
Clutch and solid all the way around except for the
occasional drop.
66 St. Louis: James Laurinaitis LB
Can compete with Draft for the inside spot
67 Kansas City: Cody Brown LB/DE
Developmental rusher and glaring Chief need
68 Seattle: Mike Mickens CB
Need pick for weak secondary.
69 Dallas: (from Cleveland) Jasper Brinkley LB
Slight reach but Brooking is only short term
70 Cincinnati: Rashad Jennings RB
Similar to Perry but probably not a bust.
71 Oakland: Louis Murphy WR
Back to the classic Al kind of pick-field stretcher.
72 Jacksonville: Brandon Gibson WR
Underrated guy who’ll show up on 3rd down.
73 Green Bay: Troy Kropog OT
Depth guy. Good zone prospect.
74 San Francisco: T.J. Lang OT
Old school battler competes at either OT spot
75 Buffalo: Shawn Nelson TE
#2 TE? might fill Bills need
76 N.Y. Jets (from New Orleans): Shonn Greene RB
Short yadage and depth.
77 Houston: Sen Derrick Marks DE
Inside penetrator helps the pass rush
78 San Diego: Antoine Caldwell C/G
Chargers in need of run blockers inside.
79 Denver: Alex Magee DE
Athletic 5tech in need of a little coaching
80 Washington: Lawrence Sidbury DE
Good speed for a situational rusher
81 Tampa Bay: Keenan Lewis CB
Unheralded press CB with upside
82 Detroit (from Dallas): Fili Moala DT
Should add some pass rush in the interior

Local guy looking like a sleeper coming back from
injury-competes with Finley for the start.
84 Chicago: Jason Watkins OT
Depth OT

Could stack some sacks to team’s total in Philly’s
aggressive defense.
