Artice about tiger:

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- World No. 1 Tiger Woods will launch his bid for a 15th major title in the company of fellow American Stewart Cink and Indian Jeev Milkha Singh at this week's Masters.

A four-time winner of the year's opening major, Woods is scheduled to tee off at 1: 52 p.m. ET in Thursday's opening round at Augusta National Golf Club.

"There is a lot of excitement for the first major tournament of the year," Woods, 33, said Tuesday.

"I feel good about my game and had good practice sessions with [swing coach] Hank Haney. I didn't work on anything specific; just did a lot of fine-tuning."

Woods will be competing in his first Grand Slam event since winning the U.S. Open in a playoff with Rocco Mediate at Torrey Pines in June.

He was then sidelined for eight months while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery. He has already triumphed once in just three starts since returning to the PGA Tour.

"The preparation, the feeling that I have right now, it feels the same," said Woods, who clinched his 66th Tour title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational nine days ago.

"I was surprised at how fast I got the feeling back. Coming here, it feels the same, just like any other major championship."

Twice Masters champion Phil Mickelson has been drawn with fellow American Jim Furyk and Colombian Camilo Villegas for the first two rounds. They start at 10:45 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Vijay Singh, who won the 2000 Masters, will tee off with Australian world No. 4 Geoff Ogilvy and South African Ernie Els at 10:23 a.m., two groups in front of Mickelson's group.

British Open champion Padraig Harrington, who will be bidding for a rare third consecutive major victory this week, has a 10:34 a.m. start with 2003 Masters winner Mike Weir of Canada and Japan's Ryuji Imada.

Spanish world No. 3 Sergio Garcia has been grouped with Australian Stuart Appleby and Britain's Oliver Wilson. They tee off in the penultimate group at 10:56 a.m.

First off, following a ceremonial tee shot by golfing great Arnold Palmer, will be 1991 Masters champion Ian Woosnam and Americans Chez Reavie and Briny Baird.

Im trying to watch but the streaming at my office is terrible

I am currently streaming it... I think Greg Norman could finish in the Top 10!!!! He knows this course as well as anyone in the field. The crowd will be rooting for him rather than against him. He has already proven he can compete at this age.

They have picture in picture as well this year. I am watching Amen Corner and 15 & 16 at the same time!!! A tradition unlike any other. YES SIR!!! (whoops... had a 1986 flashback right there)

I bet on Tiger a few weeks back to win the Masters at 2.5:1 odds while everyone was questioning his injury. Now its down to 7-4 odds.

Chad Campbell dominating early once again and Rory is making a bit of a run

bored of education
04-10-2009, 02:41 PM
Rory is gonna be solid. I think steve Stricker will make a run. The Shark needs to play solid and not lose any strokes on the back nine.

The low ball hitters will start moving up a bit as well becuase they keep it away from the wind. tomorrow is moving day!

What an amazing front nine so far. If Tiger and Phil can get through 11 without losing some shots, the back nine should be one of the best in memory.

Tiger AND Phil choked.

pshaw

JF4
04-12-2009, 05:52 PM
I wouldn't say that Unseen. Well I guess Mickelson kind of choked but i've come to expect it out of him. Both played very well today and came back from what I figured was an impossible gap and closed it to make it close.

Seems like Tiger loves to wait until the 4th round to really make a push and with some solid players ahead of him in the leaderboard they weren't gonna pull a usual 'field' choke and Tiger to comeback.

Can't wait for this playoff though!!!!

cant really say tiger and phil choked

i mean, they were 7 back to start the day

even if tiger birdies 17 and 18, he still loses by 2 (maybe 1, cant remember)

The Unseen
04-12-2009, 07:38 PM
Yeah, I meant at the end. Even then, everyone else seemed to struggle near the end, so I guess the better term is "letdown." Alot of momentum that fell apart at the end.

Hurricanes25

Phil came all the way back to choke on 2 very makeable putts. Kenny Perry choked. But congrats to Cabrera, he deserved to win.

They were both -4 to start the day and if he birdied 17 and 18 he would have finished at -12 instead of -8 and would have made the playoffs.

and WOOOO 2,000th Post!!!!
