Can probably find a better link later, but the big news networks haven't picked it up online yet. It just broke on First and 10.

Apparently the dude driving the mini van was caught shortly after. Hope he gets punished to the full extent of the law.

Really didn't need to see the wreck.

I think we can all picture what a car wreck looks like. I'm sure his family doesn't/ didn't need the visual proof. Way to go TMZ! Dumb $hits.

Supposedly he had three other people in the car with him, two died, the other is in critical care. One of them is a teammate on the Angels; has me worried as I've been friends with an Angel player since I was about 12 years old...

I'm so glad they caught the guy.

wow... three dead one severely wounded, and all that for a red light. That driver is SO screwed... can you say second degree murder?

Smokey Joe

The mlb article stated 3 dead, one in critical condition, and another one of the people dead is affiliated with the Angels and is reported as a teammate. Just horrible news.

Wow, just awful.

I remember he was going to be a Top 10 pick in the MLB Draft but hurt his arm and dropped like ten rounds or something. I believe he was one of the Angels top prospects.

Downtown Fullerton is full of drunk drivers, which has over a thousand bars in a 4 block radius. And the cops are way too chill about it down there, they're probably drunk too.

RIP, and peace to all of the families and friends involved.

It's disgusting to see people lose their lives because some can't follow simple traffic laws. What's worse is that this MF was probably impaired, and tried to run away instead of showing some kind of concern for the lives he just wrecked.

Sad to see a person so young, so full of potential and promise die for something as pointless as a red-light. RIP. And shame on who ever thought that making that red-light was more important than some one's life.

This is the girl who was driving Adenhart's car:

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/04/0409_courtney_stewart_ex2.jpg

A 20 year old college student at Cal State Fullerton. If anyone hears any news on the third and fourth passenger let us know...supposedly one is a teammate and the only thing I've read is that one of the guys was 27 which is the same age as the player I know on the team.

Andrew Gallo charged with three counts of murder in death of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart. (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4059869)

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A 22-year-old man was charged with three murder counts and drunken driving Friday in the crash that killed Los Angeles Angels rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others.

Andrew Thomas Gallo ran a red light in his minivan early Thursday and broadsided a car carrying Adenhart and three friends, police said.

"At the time of the crash, Mr. Gallo's blood-alcohol content is estimated to be almost three times the legal limit," Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said.

Gallo could receive almost 55 years to life in prison if convicted of all charges, Rackauckas said.

How many die in car crashes every day? We are desensitized and the only reason it's even news is because there's one less baseball pitcher to entertain us.

Yeah, but the way the media covers it makes it seem like famous people's lives mean more than regular people's lives. Not that it will ever change, it's just sad.
