Jamon Meredith seemed to have great feet at the Combine in positional drills. I think he is a major talent and I like him better than Britton. Why is he not getting any love? Thoughts?

He will be good in a zone blocking scheme.

It seems like guys that aren't as strong get pegged as "zone blocking" guys. Is Meredith not overly strong?

He also struggled at times at SC. I believe he even lost his job to a freshman for parts of the season.

I don't see him ever excelling at LT, although like Travelle Wharton to whom he is compared he can do a decent job there while also having the versatility to play guard and RT.

Well, yes and no. He had to sit out the first two games because of NCAA rules. He started against Georgia at left tackle, and that was the only game we didn't give up a sack. We had a big hole at left guard, however, and the freshman you're referring too is Jarriel King, who's ridiculously talented and played very well last season, so they wanted both on the field. King got the nod at left tackle, Meredith moved in to guard.

He has a lot of potential, but a certain amount of risk. While he showed outstanding athleticism at the Combine, he did sometimes struggle with speed rushers. I think with proper coaching he can at least be a decent left tackle, but his spot is probably guard.

He had some issues with pass protection last year. From what I could see, it was a case of him getting over extended, but he has the talent and would benefit from good coaching.

Last year? He only played tackle for one game, the best blocking game for us.

He's shown a lack of effort/desire. He's got everything you look for physicall/athletically, but the mental part makes him a huge risk. I'd take him with a late-first or early-second if the Top 5 OT's are gone (including Britton). I love Meredith's potential and his versatility.

That he hasn't shown. He's isn't a Tim Tebow, but was regarded as a team leader. Him getting beat by speed rushers despite his athleticism wasn't because he wasn't trying, but because he made mental lapses, and John Hunt was a horrible line coach. I've never heard Steve Spurrier comment on a lack of desire with Meredith, and trust me, Spurrier will if he sees it. Just ask Jared and Emanuel Cook.

Mel Kiper listed him as the #1 Offensive Guard on his positional rankings. I love that idea.
