I love the immediate primetime matchup pitting 81 vs. 81. Awesome!

Week 2 as the Jets home opener yet again. Love it. Ruining the 1st home game for Jets fans = priceless.

I think the non-divisional matchups are tough to call this early. NFC South & AFC South are both tough divisions. I see no reason to think the AFC South won't be one of the top 3 in the league again this year, but the NFC South may not be so strong. Carolina is in decline, Tampa is in decline and has a new coach, Atlanta needs to prove they can be as good as last years' overachieving team. The Saints . . . well let's just say I'm looking forward to that primetime shoot out already.

If you have to choose 1 of the 3 I would say the Jags game should be 1st choice. Assuming, of course, they don't do something as stupid as drafting a QB. lol

I think the Jags could have a major turn-around going into this season. Their Oline gets healthy going into the 09 season and (if they're smart) adds a stud OT with the 8th overall pick. A WR in round 2 (Britt, Nicks, Robiskie) to give them a legit #1 WR and I think they have a solid season again.

Plus it's the second to last game and will likely have playoff implications.

Of to England . . . that should be interesting.

BTW - Bob Craft was interviewed briefly for the Total Access Schedule coverage and he said the Pats will be wearing the throwback jerseys for the home opening MNF game vs. Buffalo.

Kickass!!

I'm going to the Pats-Saints game in NO, it's only about 4 hours from Ole Miss. That will be crazy.

The first monday night game against the Bills is going to be absolutely nuts, I can't wait for football!

Ya both teams are wearing the throwbacks in honor of the 50th anniversary of the AFL....makes the game that much better

Awesome. That's one helluva great one to go see. Lots of good jazz joints w/in walking distance of the Superdome and a $5 cab ride to the FQ. Damn you . . . just thinking about it is making me hungry. lol

Correct. I'm going to see if I can rip a decent copy of the 50th Ann. logo on the Pats site to use in the Mock Challenge sig image. I'm not sure how much quality I'll lose though b/c it has to be done as a screen shot. :(

man im jealous going to a pats saints game would be sick. yeah im not sure which one im going to yet, but my gf said that she can get tickets from her neighbors, who are season ticket holders, and they are located 35 yard line 2nd row in... DOPE!! lol I am leaning either dolphins or jags because i think the jets will blow next year if they dont resolve their qb situation....

So what are everyone's expectations for the season?
Predictions? Break out seasons? Anyone taking a step back?
Will Brady come back like he hasn't missed a game? In top shape?
Will Maroney finally break out? Will B. Watson finally break out?
Will any rookies start earn a starting role on Week 1?
Winning the Division? Conference? Super Bowl?

Let me know what ya think

Not too rough. I don't predict any L's with the Boston teams (bad mojo), but that schedule is favorable.

I think they'll lose a couple games for "stuff happens", but that doesn't look too bad.

I wanna go to a Patriots game! :(

I'll probably have to settle for the Redskins though.

EDIT: Actually, the Patriots are visiting the Redskins in August. So maybe I can get some tickets there.

It's been a while for me and I envy you guys . . . a little bit, anyway. It has become so expensive to attend games that I haven't been since the Bills game in 07 when Vince took out Losman. A minimum of $65 for a ticket at the top, $50 to park and $7 dollar beers - and another bit of cash for tailgating expenses . . .

vs. my comfy couch, beer-stocked refrigerator, 37 inch HDTV w/the ability to pause and rewind for my own instant replay.

easy choice, atm.

^ I was at that game as well. My buddy and his family have season tickets 15 rows up 35yd line, bridge side, behind the visitors bench.

But the best seats I've ever had were 7 rows behind the pats bench, 40yd line, in the Titans game in the divisional round (when it was -7 degrees at kickoff)....hands down the best seats. But the best game I've ever been to was the snowbowl (not the tuck game...my father was at that), but the game against the dolphins when the fans started throwing snow up in the air.

Too bad a better opponent wasn't scheduled for the Wembley game. Hopefully the Bucs put on a good showing, but that's a match-up that (this early) I like strongly for the Pats.

And then three weeks later:

Colts/Patriots, Ultimate Hyper Battle of the Millenium X!

i think this schedule is tricky to analyze but i have them going 10-6 or 11-5, the division got a little tougher it seems like and the pats will split a couple series IMO with the jets and the bills but overall they will still be a very strong team

Rest of schedule:

vs. Titans (0-5)
@ Bucs (0-5)
BYE
vs. Dolphins (2-3)

Three easy wins.

@ Colts (5-0)
vs. Jets (3-2)
@ Saints (4-0)
@ Dolphins (2-3)

2-2 stretch, if we're lucky.

vs. Panthers (1-3)
@ Bills (1-4)
vs. Jaguars (2-3)
@ Texans (2-3)

A 3-1 stretch is likely for the last four weeks. This will get us to 11-5 and a playoff berth, probably the division. The #1 seed isn't out of the picture if we can manage to beat Indy.

The Dolphins are rarely an "easy win" but overall I think that sounds pretty reasonable. I doubt any of those last 4 are losses, though. None of those teams are strong and those are all December games (January for Houston) which means BB & Brady et al should be in top form.

Welcome to the fun!
