Our offseason wasn't amazing but, it was good enough. I belive our line right now is set! Actually I believe it's better now than then last year. Before the draft I was afraid that the Eagles were going to trade up and get a Lineman or take one with the first pick and miss out on getting a good RB. Now I have some confidence that if Moreno is there that the Eagles will take him. So basically all we really need is a RB, TE, DE & S. What position do you think the Birds will address with that 1st pick? Discuss

I think our primary needs as of now are TE, RB, WR in that order. I believe RB will be addressed in round 1 and TE in round two since some good players will be available there like Nelson or Cook. I don't thin we are going to address our need for a #1 WR this draft now that we've traded 28 unless we can get a guy like Ramses Barden in the 3rd, who I don't think will be a #1 guy, but he will at least give us the big red-zone threat we need. As for safety, there will be some good safeties available in the mid rounds. Safety is more of a depth pick though since we already have 3 starting caliber safeties in Jones, Mikeel and Demps. Same goes for DT, DE and LB which we can address in the mid to late rounds.

I agree with all of that, except I see RB as the bigger need over TE.

I personally don't think TE is a big need. An upgrade wouldn't be bad, but I dont think we need to overdraft at all.

Thats exactly why I've been shying away fro Pettigrew. We could potentially have our future starter already in Celek, and I think we draft a TE in the second or third round. The only reason I think so early is because we really don't have many other needs that are bigger than TE. But there are a lot of TEs that will be available in the late second to early 4th that I like a lot.

If the Eagles ran a lot of 2 formation set TE plays. Then I wouldn't apposed to it, but the Eagles don't run that much or use the TE that often. Thats why Celek is fine. They want to add a blocking TE, then pick one up later, no point in adding Petti as a first round pick to have him used as a blocker more.

If the Eagles didn't have a capable starting TE then Petti would be a fine pick.

I do not see DE and S as a need or even a position that needs to be drafted this year. Maby a 5th - 7th on a S to challenge for a spot or an UDFA at DE as a camp body but we do not need a DE in the draft with Cole, Abiamiri, Parker, and Howard as guys who could start on other teams also with Clemons as a Joker and specialist, Smith as a project/ pass rush specialist there isnt any room for someone else.

As for Safety we have Mikell an All-pro Demps and Jones as potential quality starters and Baker as a special teams guy there is no need at Safety either, espically since Mikell and Jones are able to play both Strong and Free.

with very little need at a lot of positions like OL, DE, QB, LB, CB, S. I don't see us making more than 8 picks in the draft meaning that either we stockpile picks for next year or move up.

Thats is sort of how I feel about the TE situation. We have someone who could potentially be a future starter there in Celek, could be very good if given the opportunity. We don't have a future at RB outside of Westy for the next few years, which is why I view Rb as the biggest need on this team. Every position has a player that is part of the future at that position except RB, (depending on how far out, QB as well) and that is why I view RB as the biggest need as of now.

I think we may add a safety for competition with Baker in the mid rounds, and since Jones is only on a one year deal, but I agree it isn't a major need. I agree with pretty much everything else though.
