View Full Version : 2010 Glorious Mock Draft

America

1. St. Louis - Sam Bradford, QB - OU. Rams get their QB of the future.
2. Denver Broncos - Sergio Kindle, OLB - UT. Get a stud OLB for their 3-4. The "Predator" will have an instant impact.
3. Cleveland Browns - Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois. After dealing away Braylon in '09, Browns get QB Anderson a real weapon.
4. Buffalo Bills - Carlos Dunlap, DE - UF. Mario Williams Part dos? Bills go Oher and Pettigrew in '09 leaving DE a big need.
5. Detroit Lions - Bryan Bulaga, LT - Iowa. 3 year starter has a Jason Smith-esque rise.
6. Washington Redskins - Trent Williams, T - OU. Aging tackles make the Skins go back to the trenches. Williams shows he is the best of the recent Sooner lineman.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jevan Snead, QB - Ole Miss. They thought they were set with Leftwich and McCown...
8. New York Jets - Dez Bryant, WR - OSU. After drafting Freeman in '09, they need to give him some weapons.
9. Kansas City Chiefs - Terrence Cody, NT - Alabama. Some might not have him as the top DT on board, but the Chiefs realize no one on their roster can handle the nose like Big Terrence Cody.
10. San Fransisco 49ers - Damian Williams, WR - USC. 9ers trade for Brady Quinn, and now get him a local threat to take it to the house.
11. Cincinnati Bengals - Greg Hardy, DE - Ole Miss. Geathers busted after his big contract. They need a threat off the edge.
12. Seattle Seahawks - Jonathan Dwyer, RB - GT. Early for a RB, but Seattle needs to add some skill to their backfield to help out Sanchez.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars - Gerald McCoy, DT - OU. Garrard rebounds with Crabtree's help. Big John Henderson needs some help inside and the Jags are lucky McCoy falls here.
14. Oakland Raiders - Ndamukong Suh, DT - Nebraska. Maclin in '09 lets Al make a sensible pick and address the abysmal d-tackle situation.
15. Green Bay Packers - Everson Griffen, OLB - USC. Griffen makes the transition from DE to OLB to give the Pack a rushbacker with huge potential.
16. Minnesota Vikings - Russell Okung, OT - OSU. Okung is tops in Big XII in '10. Vikings need to add youth to an aging line.
17. Houston Texans - Eric Berry, S - Tennessee. Yeah I know he'd go a lot higher (if he doesn't run a slow 40), but I forgot about him. Whatever.
18. Miami Dolphins - Joe Haden, CB - UF. Phins get the local boy to help their dismal CB situation.
19. New Orleans Saints - Trevard Lindley, CB - Kentucky. All-SEC performer teams with Tracy Porter to give NO a legitimate starting duo.
20. Dallas Cowboys - Dirk Nowitzki. **** Dallas.
21. Denver Broncos (from Chi) - Rolando McClain, ILB - Alabama. McClain is a perfect ILB in the 3-4 and the Broncos get the 2nd of their great LB duo.
22. Philadelphia Eagles - George Selvie, DE - USF. Andy Reid loves d-lineman.
23. Atlanta Falcons - Greg Romeus, DE - Pitt. They need help on the front 7. Curtis Lofton holds down the middle and keeps them from drafting Brandon Spikes.
24. Arizona Cardinals - Eric Norwood, LB - South Carolina. A converted DE, Norwood has the size and the rush ability to replace Karlos Dansby.
25. Tennessee Titans - Brandon Spikes, LB - UF. Titans get a new face for their Defense.
26. San Diego Chargers - Taylor Mays, S - USC. He gets over analyzed staying his senior year, but his lack of INTs turn some teams off. He forms a great duo with Weddle.
27. Carolina Panthers - Colt McCoy, QB - UT. Colt has bulked up to NFL size and the Panthers love his accuracy. Delhomme has almost nothing left in the tank.
28. Baltimore Ravens - Lawrence Marsh, DE - UF. Another extremely athletic Gator going in the 1st. Gives the Ravens an instant replacement for Pryce.
29. New England Patriots - Mark Herzlich, LB - BC. Herzlich is a hard nosed LB who will replace Bruschi and make a dynamic duo with Mayo.
30. Indianapolis Colts - Marvin Austin, DT - UNC. The former top recruit declares early despite less than stellar college production, but his top flight athleticism intrigues the Colts, in dire need of DT help.
31. New York Giants - Travis Lewis, OLB - OU. With 4.45. speed, Lewis gives the G-men a missile on the outside.
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Ciron Black, T - LSU. Steelers need to protect their top investment Big Ben. Black is a legit LT, a four year starter.

*Dallas takes Major Wright, S - UF. Dallas needs a playmaker at safety with no good replacements in '09 for Henry and Williams.

No way Hardy drops that low. He would probably have been the top DE available in this years draft if he declared. Despite the character issues and such.

Barring injury, the same should apply for next year. Given that and that I don't have us grabbing a DE/OLB early in my 09 mock, I would take Hardy or Selvie over Haden.

Lions would (hopefully) take Eric Berry at #5. Sucks that Carlos Dunlap goes #4 :(

Yeah that's true. I didn't feel like reordering everything.

Hardy was hurt this year. If he gets hurt again, or if teams look into his character issues, he could drop. I probably dropped him too low. He should have decent numbers and has great size, plus great production.

And I have the Dolphins taking an OLB in this years draft. Will Allen's contract will be up soon and they don't have anyone good enough to start opposite him.

No one thought Brady Quinn would drop out of the top 10 even days before the draft. This time last year, James Laurinaitis and Rey Maualuga were top 10 picks and Clay Matthews wasn't draftable. It happens. I don't think Mays will run as well as people think and he's not the ball hawk that teams covet. Part of that is how USC plays him, but I don't think he's a Laron Landry type player. He might be a Kherry Rhodes.

Please stop saying no way.... this time last year there was no way William Moore and James Laurinitis weren't going top 10....

No way does Herzlich get picked by the Pats! How can I be so sure of that? He's returning to BC for this fall.

Perhaps you should read. This is a 2010 mock, Not 2009.

Broncos picking number 2 makes me a sad panda. But I want Eric Berry! The 2nd one is fine, him Spikes or Herzlich.

You really have no confidence in McD, the rest of the intact offense or the drafted defense do you?

Trevard Lindley is better than any corner in this years draft so id be fine with him at 19 or something, awsome value

I seriously thought they were being sarcastic. I wouldn't even say "no way" to anything in this draft, with less than a week to go, let alone a whole year.

I'd be down with Bryant, but hope we don't take Freeman this year.

I didn't really put much time into the order. 17-20 with Cutler as a starter. Sorry, I don't like Orton and defenses usually go through some growing pains when switching to the 34. Especially when LBs like Boss Bailey and DEs like Ellis Dummervil are on the roster. It just worked for me to give them Kindle.
