For sure.
I know at least 4-5 of us who are occasionally on IRC so if we're all there on draft day we'll definitely make one.

I highly doubt Freeman will win the starting job this year.
But you don't have to watch us this year if you don't want to. I'll probably have better things to do.

Its true, he may not win the starting job. At least when McCown/Leftwich suck throughout the season, I know there is some hope at the QB position.
Better things to do? Its Sunday, you going to church or something?
Alright guys. I hated this pick as much as the next Buc fan, but we got to start accepting it. Josh Freeman is our QB of the future. Let's try to accept him.
If you compare his stats to Jay Cutler's senior season, they are remarkably similar. Freeman even had 14 rushing TDs his senior season. Even the team records are almost identical. Maybe we shouldn't write him off so quickly because his lack of elite production and wins. Just like Cutler, he didn't have the help around him. Each had one legit NFL WR prospect in there college stay, Cutler with Earl Bennett and Freeman with Jordyz.
What I'm saying is, maybe Freeman can turn into a legit franchise QB in the right situation. He has the arm and all the tools. We do have a pretty good line to protect him, a good running game to support him, and some big targets in Winslow/Stevens, Antonio, Ward out of the backfield and Clayton if he can find his rookie season form. If we get a legit deep threat like Mike Wallace in the 3rd, we could have a potentially explosive offense. When's the last time we could count on our offense week after week to win us games, and not just try to not lose them?
So let's give him a chance guys. It's a harsh reality, but suck it up. Let's give this management more than a couple months and wait till at least midway through the season to crucify them.
This is it, get ready for our future, for better or worse, he's our QB for the next 3 years at worse.

I'm very excited about the Freeman pick. There were few players that would have done that for me at 19, so I'm glad we got him.
The Bucs have all the tools for Freeman to find success. He fits our new offensive scheme perfectly. Granted that we may not have a deep threat for him yet, but who knows, maybe someone we already have will surprise. Its not like we've had a QB that can throw a deep ball in quite some time. Should be fun to see our offense operate outside of the 20 yard box we've been limited too.

He doesn't fit the scheme I'm thinking of. Jagodzinski and Logan love dumping it off to backs and TEs. They love throwing slants and curls. It's almost the same dinky route tree that Gruden ran. Freeman is a downfield thrower. We don't have the weapons or the coaches to implement that kind of offense.
I don't think he fits our offense well at all. I see it as Jason Campbell in Washington, except worse.
And no, I won't relent and accept this pick and be content that he's our "quarterback of the future". I'm not excited that Morris said he might've taken Freeman #1 overall. I hope the best for Freeman, but I'm also gonna stay true to my words.

I've read a ton of reports that Tampa Bay is looking to throw vertical a lot more than they did last year. Well at least that is what Pewter Report Insider has gathered.

From everything I've heard, we're going to a run heavy/play action offense with a vertical passing attack. This will be perfect for us to groom a young qb in, since Freeman can get a lot of playing time with limited pressure to force the passing game. Sure there will be a lot of dump offs to RBs and TEs. That's the essence of stretching the field with the vertical game. It opens things up underneath. I'm thinking pre-injury Culpepper. But I suppose I'm just being optimistic:)
The one offensive weapon we do still need is a deep threat WR. But that's a lot easier to acquire than a QB. Since we let Galloway go, I imagine our FO has a plan for this position. At least we're taking a step in the right direction.
