View Full Version : Coming Soon: "The Final Mock"

Scott Wright
04-24-2009, 11:09 AM
I know some have been wondering and I will indeed be putting out one more mock draft, the 10th and final of the year. I have been working sources via phone / text / e-mail all morning and have already begun to map out some of the picks but because it takes so long to write up all of the analysis it won't be posted until late Friday or worst-case very early Saturday.

Stay tuned...

Sounds good. Will be interesting to see where you go with the Top 10, which is getting a dramatic overhaul every other day in mock drafts

I will be very angry with a certain pick Scott. If you make that pick I will not be happy.

Why waste so much time and energy when the actual draft is only a day away ?

rotoworld posted it will be DHB or Maclin to Oakland. Tom Cable spoke to Maclin on Thursday night but I bet Al likes DHB better.

I'm not sure anyone really wants to trade up that high, the hot spot should be Jacksonville or Green Bay if Sanchez is still on the board.

Ha, nobody has good Oakland sources.

Tom Cable has to watch the TV coverage to find out what the Raiders are doing!

I do think it's either Maclin or Heyward-Bey for them though.

Scott,

With the Gonzo trade does that make Crabtree a better possibility for KC if they can't trade the pick?

Scott,

No, I don't think Crabtree is in the mix for Kansas City at all.

I have not locked in a pick for the Chiefs in my final mock but as of this moment here is how I would break it down:

Trade Down - 50%
Aaron Curry - 25%
Tyson Jackson - 25%

Im starting to think Curry isn't the pick for Kansas. Best player in the draft? Possibly. Safest player in the draft? Almost definitely. Fill a need? Yes. Impact you look for in a top 3 pick? Not even close. Jackson doesn't represent much better impact value but he plays a much more important position if the Chiefs do decide to switch to a 34. If Pioli sees any Richard Seymour in Jackson he will take him but ideally he'd prefer that to be around 8-12 range

I've read the Steelers want Darius Butler and Wood and that they arnt high on Mack. You usually do very well with the Steelers picks (I know you got Ben, Heath, Timmons recently)

I can't believe the draft is tmw

I'm one of the few Chiefs fans that would not mind taking TJ but if we stay at #3 why not Raji?

*crosses fingers for curry*

all these final mock drafts (Kirwin, Kiper, etc.) giving Tyson Jackson to the Chiefs and Aaron Curry to the Browns are getting my hopes up. Those two will likely land in those 2 cities, which one goes where is the question.

It's 1:15am central and I am cracking my second Red Bull.

Still have 11 more first rounders to write analysis for / format as well as round two and three.

Will I get to sleep tonight? Maybe. Maybe not.

hit one of those 5 hour energy drinks Scott...save ur body from sugar collapse..lol.

Do you have good Bear sources? How likely do you see the wr scenario panning out like last year where many who people thought would go rnd 1 fell into rnd 2. I'm hoping Robiskie is there.

I actually do have a 5 Hour Energy in reserve if needed...

As for the Bears, I think there is a real good chance a wide receiver will fall to them.

Those 5 Hour Energy drinks work a charm. Just be prepared to stay up if you have one..lol

so when you say fall do you mean one out of the Britt, Nicks, Robiskie camp? lol...we know Harvin is pobably on that wagon due to the bad drug test. I hope I'm not prying too much...lol

Why is it so important to scramble to get a last minute mock draft in ? The real draft is here. Instead of red bulls, you should be taking chill pills, get some sleep and enjoy the real draft. You are going to be so tired, you will probably fall asleep and miss a lot of it.
