The draft is finally here! Now starts the mock draft challenge everybody has been waiting for, it is time to see who truly is the best Patriots Mockster!

Participants: Consistent posting Patriots Fans only. These only include: Raven of Prophecy, Jay, FlyingElvis, Don Vito, TNPatsFan, Nalej, Proshoota25, AntoinCD, Bigburt63, ElectricEye, nepg, cdf_2108, Babylon, hannah73, BradysKnee, gpngc, Bradyjackson12, Bostonsportlova, HellonEarth84, Cronin, luckyjackaubrey, mully, sdotcarter33, and bhyg. (Private message me if you aren’t included)

Deadline: ALL MOCK DRAFTS ARE DUE BY 1 P.M. SATURDAY, NO
EXCEPTIONS! POST FINAL MOCKS IN THIS FORUM!

Rules: 1. We will be doing three rounds of mocking the Patriots potential moves. The picks are :

Round 1, Pick 23
Round 2, Pick 34
Round 2, Pick 47
Round 2, Pick 58
Round 3, Pick 89
Round 3, Pick 97

2. We will NOT be calling any kind of trades. If a trade does occur (which will
almost 100% happen) we will still use the round, player, and position
scoring. (See below) If you do think a trade will happen, then put that
player that you are thinking we are targeting, just at the 23 spot. If a pick
is traded, the spot will be voided.

Scoring:
10 points for correct player selected
4 points for the correct player round predicted in
2 points for a correct position selected

EXAMPLE MOCK DRAFT

Round 1, Pick 23: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida
Round 2, Pick 34: Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest

Round 2, Pick 58: Rashard Johnson S, Alabama
Round 3, Pick 89: Max Unger, OL, Oregon
Round 3, Pick 97: Graham Gano, K, Florida State

Scoring:
Pick 23: You did not predict the right player. But you predicted the right
position. 2 points
Pick 34: Your predicted the right player, round, and position for this pick. 16
points
Pick 47: You did not predict the right player. You predicted right position. 2
points
Pick 58: You did predict this player to be drafted, but you did not get
the position you thought at this pick. You did get correct round. 14
points
Pick 89: You did predict the right player, but in the wrong round. Position is
correct for that spot. 12 points
Pick 97: You did not pick this player, position, or round for this pick. 0 points

Total Points: 46

This may be confusing, but I believe the system will work.

WINNER: Whoever has the most total points.

Prize: The winner will be able to proudly display either sig 1 or sig 2 of their choice until the next draft AND have the title “Patriots Master Mockster Challenge Champion” for an entire year!

Let me be the first then;

1. Michael Oher
2a. Louis Delmas
2b. Clint Sintim
2c. DJ Moore
3a. Tyrone McKenzie
3b. Andy Levitre

Obviously based on the strong talk that we're trying to move into the top 10. As of now ill say Oher is the pick. Sintim could be gotten at 34 or 47 and CB will probably be addressed also.

The deadline is when the Lions officially go on the clock, correct? I've got my list but I'd like to wait just to be sure there aren't any crazy trades between now and the start time.

I scored a whopping 2 points for the correct position (OT) at number 58. Yay me! lol

It's number 58 not 59. Just an FYI...but I LOVE your draft!

I screwed up all the damn numbers. Sometimes I swear I'm dyxsleci.

I came very, very close to putting Butler at 23 and Ron Brace at 34 in my picks, then I changed my mind at the last moment and put Hood and English. I guess I outsmarted myself.

hahaa sounds good to me. should we change the way the scoring system is? whomever gets the most correct out of the 4 picks or so wins?

FlyingElvis
04-09-2010, 04:37 PM
We should go with 5 picks to include the first, 3 seconds and the 4th.

I thought the scoring worked fine last year.

Hah. I'm down. The 4th to notch it up to 5 picks would add entertainment value for sure!

Sweet . . . BoneKrusher has been commissioned to produce a sig this year since last year the sig was too lame to wear (or perhaps the winner was to lame to wear it? ;))

This year's winner can proudly suit up their sig, if they'd like, with this:
