I've recently the past year and a half rediscovered my love for hip hop. Started getting into underground stuff that makes me think a bit. I'm into the poetic side of hip hop. Anyone remember NFL2K5? The Crib had some of the best hip hop on there. Here's one of the songs form the game.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fm3ouSdu6N0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fm3ouSdu6N0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Dude's on some serious political ****. Not as heavy handed as Immortal Technique, but still good all the same. Here's a little bit of Immortal Technique too:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vgmDAdGASuo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vgmDAdGASuo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I'm a Lupe fan too. The dude has a way with his words and subject matter.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6bYst-gil_M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6bYst-gil_M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Annnnd I gotta show some love for my favorite rapper Asheru. He did the theme song to The Boondocks tv show, and the dude is a beast. Take heed gentleman.

no way man and immortal technique hes so good too he teaches me that it is not okay to respect authority figures, and he's not all about his image like other rappers... its not like his whole agenda is to appeal to young white kids by acting tough and speaking about conspiracies or anything or try to profit off of being "underground"

oh yeah and jedi mind tricks there so good too, they are so underground there fore they must be amazing, vinnie paz is like the best rapper of all time he has such a cool voice plus hes a fat white guy so hes easier to relate to for your average jedi mind trick fan

I never could've imagined Drake would get this much hype, although I will say I always knew the dude had talent dating back to his days before Young Money when he was almost exclusively R&B working with artists like Trey Songz. No doubt he benefitted from the exposure he got under Weezy, but he would've got noticed either way imo. He's way too good. Y'all can hate if you want, though.

I think it depends on your preference. Some people who are fans of the old school rap (ABC) absolutely hate the way the new rappers change words to make them rhyme with other words. and vice versa.

What is everyone's personal top 5 rappers of all time. Not who you think is best, just your favorite. As for mine, not necessarily in order:

Masta Ace
Nas
Jay Z
Dre
Biggie

Sucks to leave a lot of guys out, but that is almost definitely my top 5. Biggie, Nas, and Dre dont really need explanation. Jay is just one of my boys. He has put out some crap, but I just love Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint so much. He just straight rips it and it has some of the sickest beat ever on every freaking track. Equally good for bumping in your car or really sitting and listening. Ace is just my ultimate boy. Probably my personal favorite. A Long Hot Summer is in my top 5 albums all time, so freaking good.

I'm a big fan of rap duo's, many of which would not be rightly served without the other (or are just way better as a duo). So my top 5 are all duo's, with one group (that only has one actually rapper/singer)

Binary Star
Outkast
Black Star
People Under The Stairs
The Roots

Also is anybody is both a Mos Def fan and a MF DOOM fan (and what true rap fan wouldn't be?), you will like this video

It was Mac Minister. He got some love in the San Francisco song. He whacked Fat Tone and Cowboy Akins by luring them to a supposed meeting with Snoop Dogg. Things ain't been right since in the Mid West; just about a month ago Tech N9ne had an article in our local paper stating that he gets death threats even to this day.

Apparently he had said something about the murder on a KC radio station talking about it like he did it or someone he knew did it. The crazy thing is that if there's any place that bay area rap gets played outside of the bay area its Kansas.

no, it all but came out that drake writes for weezy. Especially on Tha Carter III.

BTW, i bet most artists now a days use ghost writers, so dont bash weezy for that. Bash him for putting out a ton of crappy songs whilst being so talented.
