Brown Leader
04-25-2009, 10:31 AM
Proposed trades: None. But guessing KC, NE, Den. and Jac.

ROUND 1
___________________________________________

1 Detroit: Matthew Stafford QB
Done deal.

2 St. Louis: Mark Sanchez QB
The right choice for the new regime. They’ll need a QB soon and so why pass on a top prospect ? Unless they’re courting Mike Vick-Spag is going to need a franchise QB to get off the ground. Focusing on the run game this year should keep Bulger from being a crash test dummy.

3 Kansas City: Jason Smith OT
Smith, considered for the #1 spot could be too good a value here even over Curry. Cassell is still a raw QB and could regress big time without protection and his NE weapons.

4 Seattle: Eugene Monroe OT
Curry could start but it was Seattle offense that threw the team out of wack last season. Mora rumored to want a strong run game like in ATL. Monroe’s a pro bowl prospect as a rookie in a zone scheme.

5 Cleveland: Aaron Curry LB
Many think this is the best player but QB and OL are harder to fill. If the Lions don’t make this happen this is a possibility for the Browns.

6 Cincinnati: Michael Crabtree WR
There’s a strange rift between Chad and coach Lewis. Rather than reward Chad with a trade after possibly tanking it last season I could see them force him to compete for a start. In any case Chad and Henry are not to be relied on for 16 gms and the #1 was traded away. The young guys didn’t show much. Despite needs at C and OT I think Lewis is stubborn and will go by the board at every turn.

7 Oakland: Jeremy Maclin WR
Maclin looks like lightning in a bottle and should give the Raiders a big play WR threat that’s missing. Safe choice because Maclin is a diligent worker.

8 Jacksonville: Andre Smith OT
Smith helps the Jag’s line anywhere other than C as a rookie and helps put the identity back together on offense.

9 Green Bay: B.J. Raji DT
Key cog for the 34 they hope.

10 San Francisco: Brian Orakpo DE/LB
Singletary wanted a better pass rush-gets to coach up Orak to provide that.

11 Buffalo: Michael Oher OT
Probably plays just as well as Peters did last year-inconsistent.

12 Denver: Tyson Jackson DE
Hot prospect that I find hard to believe going in the top 5.

13 Washington: Robert Ayers DE
Wow did Campbell sleep with Snyder’s wife or what-JC should have the biggest chip in the league this season. …should stay put and take the top 43 DE.

14 New Orleans: Chris Wells RB
Beanie is the closer the Saints needed in 08’ and is too good of a
prospect to pass. M.Jenkins is not a great fit for the Saints man scheme.
and the addition of vets Sharper/Prioleau makes S slight less need.

15 Houston: Clay Matthews LB
LB looks to be the position of need for the Texans and despite his
inflated Stock Matthews is the most athletic of the USC backers. At
SLB he can be a situational rusher as well and will not need to come
off the field like Rey.

16 San Diego: Rey Maualuga LB
Adds playmaking to the ILB

17 N.Y. Jets: Josh Freeman QB
No need to move up for Freeman. Three unproven already on the roster but Freeman physically towers over them. If Ryan is looking to build a Raven like team-Freeman could be nice in a running offense.

18 Denver (via Chicago): Aaron Maybin DE/LB
Looking like the best 34 Rush LB now to me.

19 Tampa Bay: Malcolm Jenkins CB
Top zone CB should fit well and start. No need to trade for QB’s cause Tampa’s getting cozy for Mike Vick-imo.

20 Detroit (from Dallas): William Beatty OT
Pressing need. Beatty could be thrust into a start this season.

21 Philadelphia: Knowshon Moreno RB
Eagles are in the SB this season.

22 Minnesota: Percy Harvin WR
Best playmaking prospect no matter who’s throwing the ball

23 NE: Everette Brown DE/LB
If they stay put Ev’s probably available.

24 Atlanta: Peria Jerry DT
Not a 350lb plugger but should be a steal for whoever drafts him.

25 Miami: Kenny Britt WR
Britt's stock is up because he's got some TO in him.
.

26 Baltimore: Darrius Heyward-Bey WR
Recent resign of Samari and vets Foxworth/Washington make CB
unlikely. Height speed opens up Raven offense. DHB is the easiest to nickname-on the Ravens how bout Fly-Bey.

27 Indianapolis: Hakeem Nicks WR
Slot run after the catch playmaker.

28 Buffalo via Phil (from Car): Brandon Pettigrew TE
Need is DE but could they pass on Pettigrew here?

29 N.Y.G: Eben Britton OT
Cheap, cheap,CHEAP. Solid safe Britton can start soon now that the top WR’s are gone.

30 Tennessee: Darius Butler CB/KR
Possibly the top CB prospect and helps out in the return game

31 Arizona: Larry English DE/LB
Starting OLB for the Cards full fledged 34 defense.

32 Pittsburgh: Eric Wood C/G
Inside pressure is the only thing that slows Big Ben

ROUND 2
____________________________________________

33 Detroit: Brian Cushing LB
Should hold down the MLB in Detroit but would take an
adjustment to play inside. Glaring weakness for the Lions defense
is shored up in an off season.

34 New England (from Kansas City): Max Unger OL
Competes for a start inside-provides depth anywhere and is the
long-term replacement for Coppen. A repeat of 08 this year would be a curse.
Considered Delmas but that would give the Pats two smurf
starters at S.

35 St. Louis: Michael Johnson DE
Spag can find the right role for the underachiever in his attacking
defense.

36 Cleveland.: Alex Mack OL
Needs dictate taking a OLB here but there’s little doubt that interior upgrades are high on Mangini’s board.
.

37 Seattle: Louis Delmas S
Russell’s starting days are over.

38 Cincinnati: Donald Brown RB
If Lewis continues bpa Brown is the guy in the 2nd if he’s there.

39 Jacksonville: Alphonso Smith CB
New DC Tucker can coach this 5’9er up to be a great starter.

40 Oakland: Ron Brace DT
Brace would be a good counter if a WR is reached by the
Raiders in the first.

41 Green Bay: Gerald Cadogan OT
Should have no problem earning a start as a rookie in a zone scheme.

42 Buffalo: Paul Kruger DE
Not flashy but should be the starting LE.

43 San Francisco: Vontae Davis CB
“Look at him…that’s my brother.” Backdraft was wack.

44 Miami (from Washington): Sean Smith CB/S
Might step into a starting role.

45 N.Y. Giants (from New Orleans): Brian Robiskie WR
Height, hands and clutch play would make up for Plax.

46 Houston: Patrick Chung S
SS starter should improve the run defense.

47 NE: Jarron Gilbert DE
Seymour’s last year on the Pats?

48 Denver: LeSean McCoy RB
Quantity doesn’t equal quality or reliability.

49 Chicago: Mohamed Massaquoi WR
Solid all around and is used to catching bullets.

50 Cleveland (from Tampa Bay): Clint Sintim LB/DE
Handed the start and could provide a better pass rush

51 Dallas: Duke Robinson G
Top G prospect shores up inside depth for the Cowboys.

52 N.Y. Jets: Phil Loadholt OT
Geared for Ryan’s run based offense.

53 Philadelphia: James Laurinaitis LB
Fits the system and is a depth guy at all three positions.

54 Minnesota: Jarius Byrd DB
If healthy a long time starter in a cover 2

55 Atlanta: Marcus Freeman LB
Could be handed the WLB and excel.

56 Miami: Conner Barwin DE/LB
Gets to learn from the best.

57 Baltimore: Cody Brown LB
Solid ILB or OLB prospect could benefit a lot from Ray and start.

58 New England: Rashad Johnson S
Disciplined and should be a reliable cover S

59 Carolina: Evander Hood DT
Interior rusher who is being slept on imo.

60 N.Y. Giants: Andy Levitre G
OLine depth-competes at LG and could develop into the C after Ohara.

61 Indianapolis: Fili Moala DT
Tampa 2 DT might be a steal playing alongside the Colts stars.

62 Tennessee: Juaquin Iglesias WR
Unheralded but could push for a start.

63 Arizona: Kraig Urbik G
Hog.

64 Pittsburgh: Victor Harris CB
Stock dropper who should be solid in the right system.

ROUND 3
___________________________________________

65 Detroit: Will Moore S
The type of prospect you rebuild with.

66 St. Louis: Andre Brown RB
Jackson-Brown. Rams running game will not miss a beat
if Jack goes down.

67 Kansas City: Antoine Caldwell C/G
Need for the Chiefs and could play C or G

68 Seattle: D.J. Moore CB
Provides solid CB depth and can be the return guy.

69 Dallas: (from Cle) Ramses Barden WR
Red zone target can fill some of that TO void.

70 Cincinnati: Jason Watkins OT
Ideally Caldwell would be available here but not in this mock. Watkins is developmental and could fill in like Collins did if he has to.

71 Oakland: Darcell McBath S FS
A rookie might be handed one of the Raider S spots.

72 Jacksonville: Brandon Gibson WR
Gibson’s underrated imo and could learn a lot from Holt.

73 Green Bay: Travis Beckum TE
Local guy competes for a start.

74 San Francisco: T.J. Lang OT
Old school battler competes at either OT spot

75 Buffalo: Lawrence Sidbury DE
Situational RE with great speed.

76 N.Y. Jets (from NO): Shonn Greene RB
Short yadage and depth.

77 Houston: Rashad Jennings RB
Can compliment Slaton

78 San Diego: Herman Johnson G/T
The drive “house” has shown to prepare for the NFL
is an indication he’ll do his job on Sundays or he’ll take
his first paycheck to nearest burger joint.

79 Denver: Keneen Lewis CB
Slept on man to man guy who could learn a lot from Champ.

80 Washington: Darry Beckwith LB
OL needs but value dictates a LB here

81 Tampa Bay: Dorrell Scott DT
Pressing need is inside

82 Detroit (from Dallas): James Casey TE
Clutch hands at the TE position is missing on the Lions

83 Green Bay (from N.Y. Jets): Mike Mickens CB
Deju Vu

84 Denver. (via Chi.): Derrick Williams WR/KR
Fits the new offense and frees up Royal from some returning

85 Philadelphia: Shawn Nelson TE
L.J. replacement.

86 Minnesota: Troy Kropog OT
Not ready as a rookie but can back up either OT spot.

87 Miami: Cornelius Ingram TE
Pure pass catching TE adds more options for Chad.

88 Baltimore: Alex Magee DE
Depth and ST and could compete for start at SS.

89 New England: Jasper Brinkley LB
34 ILB prospect with upside.

90 Atlanta Coye Francies CB
Stock dropper could be a good cover 2 CB

91 N.Y. Giants: Cedric Peerman RB
Great ins. Back in case injuries mount.

92 Indianapolis: Sen Derrick Marks DT
Tampa 2 DT

93 Carolina: Jared Cook TE /WR
Seam splitter should add a new dimension to Panther offense.

94 Tennessee: Ricky Jean-Francois DT
Explosive when healthy and vets could keep him in check.

95 Arizona: Johnathan Luigs C
Hog.

96 Pittsburgh: Kyle Moore DE
Youth movement upfront.

97 New England: Pat White QB/WR
Belicheck looks for talented versatile guys for
key situations.

98 Cincinnati: David Veikune DE
Hustling pass rusher should contribute

99 Chicago: Chip Vaughn S
Speed and striking are assets to compete for a start.

100 NY Giants: Keith Ellison S
Sleeper guy who could be starting jumbo SS.

As a Brown's fan, you're punishing the Bengals through your mock draft.

HaHA I know. I was going to put a -warning Bengals fans- on it. But I'll say coach Lewis is usually on some other s**t on draft day.

Cool, the Chiefs still have no pass-rush or targets in the passing game beyond Bowe.

We need a SS more than a FS IMO

I don't like that first round Vikings pick and think it is all a smokescreen, and I like Byrd, and Kropog, but i don't think Kropog will last that long. Also, where is Jamon Meredith? I'd go Britton, DJ Moore, and probably Pat White.

Meredith's a developmental zone OT with issues ("cake-eater")imo and should be a late round guy.

Bradley's overlooked-not sure what happened to him in CHI-maby this is the right system for him. Engram is old but rock solid as a #3. Vrabel is a better 34 LB than McGinest was and still has some left. Just my thoughts. I'd love to see the Chiefs come out the west.
