Who got the biggest steal of the first two rounds?
SanFran could have with Crabtee.
Ravens snagging Oher that late.
Bengals with Rey- personal pick ;)

I was pretty toasted by that point so the rest is kinda iffy. Any thoughts?

Jags getting Monroe (a guy pegged to go 2-4 for months) at 8.

I'm going to be a homer and say the giants getting william beatty at 60 when just yesterday most of us expected him to be gone before we even picked at 29. Give him a year to bulk up and he'll force Diehl to play LG or RT next season making our great run blocking oline also a great pass blocking oline.

And Britton in the second round.. Awesome draft for them.

I like what the jags have done a lot. If they get that oline back on track the running game should beast and Gerrard should have time to succeed as a game manager. Plus they'll keep their D fresher which, without more DL depth, is big for them.

Beanie Wells at 31 is a pretty good steal. He is a legit top ten talent.

Rey Maualuga was the biggest steal.

And Britton in the second round.. Awesome draft for them. The funny thing is that a lot of the dumber Jaguars fans on our official message board are spazzing out about it.

"OMG WE DRAFTED A GUY IN THE SECOND ROUND WHO MIGHT NOT START FROM DAY ONE!!!"

If Britton puts on a bit more weight, he might be the next Jon Runyan.

Everette Brown

It makes me wonder if there's something in the works to move Peppers. Meeks obviously wanted himself another smaller pass rusher to pair with Johnson and Brayton theoretically could shift inside in the new system on passing downs.

Brown could be our Mathis/Freeney pin your ears back sack artist but I don't see the team trading away a future first again without some form of contingency.

I don't like the move for the 9ers really either. They could've taken Brown and put him at OLB and probably been very happy.

Oher

Ravens did not even have to give up much to move up to get him.

Guys like Everette and Lesean weren't really steals value wise. They were always overrated on internet boards and they went about where they should have.

Monroe, Crabtree and Jenkins were my favorite picks in the 1st. All three were 1st at their respective positions for me and the Jags, 49ers, and Saints got great value.

In the 2nd, I liked the Alphonso Smith pick, but the Broncos shouldn't have gave up a 1st to move back up. I liked the Darius Butler and Connor Barwin picks too.

Amazing homer analysis...you think your team made a great move and the other team who traded with you made a bad move.

I tell you one thing...the 49ers needed a pass rusher...so the fact that they traded that pick to you means either they can't evaluate pass rushers or Brown aint got the stuff to be successful in the NFL. We'll find out in a year or 2.

Beanie Wells at 31 is the best pick in the draft. He's gonna be a pro bowler in a year or less, especially with Warner/Fitz/Boldin around him.

Hakeem Nicks is gonna be a stud, just as good as any WR picked before him IMO. Harvin at 22 was a coup as well. Alphonso Smith I would say, but considering the Broncos gave up their own 1st rounder next year (likely a top 10 pick imo) for him I can't call it a steal reasonably

i don't like the everette brown pick at all. too expensive for a first in 2010. i'd have to say raji to green bay for impact and need.

Crabtree. He was my top prospect in the draft and he went #10. And not to be a homer, but it's pretty obvious... if the Falcons get Junior year William Moore, that's a huge steal.

Gotta put Orakpo here. A potiential top 5 talent picked #13 overall? Not to mention he was top on our draft board anyway.

Hell yea Redskins!

Crabtree to the 9ers & Oher to the B-More Ravens, sometimes the top-ranked talent just falls in your lap, like drawing to an inside straight & hitting it.

The only 2 picks that caught my fancy were Sanchez to the Jets and Wells to Arizona. If Sanchez develops, 4 teams will be crying in their milk and if Wells who suits Arizona's offense to a T, develops, we'll be hearing about these 2 for years.
I also really liked Detroit grabbing Pettigrew at #20. A real steal IMO.

Anyone saying Brown to Panthers should keep in mind they gave up a first to the 9ers next year. It could be a mid round pick or higher based on their brutal schedule.

Mike Mitchell to the Raiders. I couldn't believe he fell to the 2nd round.

hahaha

ahaa :( *sigh*

In all seriousness, I was a huge fan of the Crabtree pick to SF. I couldn't believe Oher fell that far either; I thought he'd be top 10 for sure.

FrankGore

Sanchez to NYJ for marginal (IMO) compensation
Crabtree to SF
Maclin and McCoy to Philly
Oher to Baltimore
Jerry to Atlanta
Britten to JAX
Brace and Butler to NE
Barwin to HOU

Just some of the ones I liked.

Everette Brown is a 1 trick pony and he certainly wasn't worth a 1st round pick...He wasn't even worth a 1st in a weak draft class so that should tell you something.

Carolina is feeling the pressure to win now, but giving up a future 1st for him was pretty stupid.

I think trading their first for Brown is worse than the Broncos trading their first for Smith.

Steals for teams:

Crabs
Butler

Maualuga
Oher
Barwin

Duke was not the steal of the draft, he was falling when the draft was getting closer.

For the sake of argument I'm going to say a guy has to have slid considerably to be considered a "steal," so guys like Crabtree, Monroe, and Perry are out as steals.

It has to be Wells. He was listed by everyone as a top 10 talent and Arizona is too good passing the ball for teams to load up on the run. If Beanie can pass block well enough to stay on the field he will be a lock for OROY.

Other notables: Maualuga and Beatty.

Maclin wasn't a steal, simply because the Raiders are ******** and would've taken him 7th if he ran faster, but he was fantastic value for where we got him.

McCoy was a great value pick and I think can turn into one of the biggest steals of the draft

I was gonna go with Moore, too. It's not a question of if we get that guy, it is if that guy wants to be Hall of Fame Safety William Moore. He has all the tools, including mentally, to take Dawkins' spot as the sure shot Pro Bowler for the NFC. My biggest concern is he may spend too much time up close knocking heads to make the big plays early in his career. This could be why we took Lofton last year, though, in anticipation of getting this guy.

I am so pumped about getting Moore in Atlanta.

I think Beanie is going to be good too, but not a pro bowler. Look at the other NFC backs he has to beat out... Peterson, Turner, DeAngelo, Westbrook, Forte. And the fact that the Cardinals throw every play isn't going to help him in the stats area any.

Everette by far. I had him as #11 to the Bills once, and many times as #13.
