I was surprised when "I Want Revenge" was a scratch after he emerged as the favorite on Wednesday.

W - Friesen Fire (5-1)
P - Dunkirk (4-1)
S - Pioneerof the Nile (4-1)

No surprises this year. Would have loved to see the race with "I Want Revenge", though.

Go Rashard Lewis' crappy horse.

I'm normally very into the Kentucky Derby, my buddy was raised on horse racing and we were pretty much connected at the hip so, I also got into it, naturally...but this year, I dont know anything about the field.

If there is one thing Basketball players know, it's horse racing.

I'm kind of in to horse racing now that it's prime season for it. I've been to Monmouth park twice and came back a winner both times One time on a 12-1 horse to win. I was happy as you could imagine. Funny this is, I only picked that horse because it was owned by Nick Zito.

I am stealing this theory from the BS Report. In order to increase the likelyhood that a horse will win it must be a good name for your *****.

Just some interesting information

Pioneerof the Nile is a product of Empire Maker
Summer Bird is a product of Birdstone, the horse who upset Smarty Jones in 2004's Belmont

It doesn't feel long enough for them to be bloodline but I have no idea when it happened. I would think after their racing career that they would breed?

I just saw it on ESPN, thats all. I would not do research like that.

That would be really hardcore. ;)

I wouldnt bet too much on favorites in the Derby. There are way too many horses that can squeeze each other out. Giacomo had really bad odds as well and he won the Derby a few years ago.

I bet on Dunkirk on Thursday, at the time I Want Revenge was still the favourite and Dunkirk was at 9-1 odds. Still come yesterday, he wasn't the favourite, after the scratch the odds went to Freisan Fire. I like Pletcher horses and Prado is a fairly successful jockey, however I was concerned with Dunkirk's lack of experience, however I knew that this was a horse of a fine pedigree, so my research was there. Also, the horse's name reminded me of a town back home, but I swear, that had nothing to do with my decision!

I doubt he'll be back at Pimlico, but hey, I may bet Dunkirk again
