it's good... the Henne Song by a few ohio state fans was better.

But I like it.

Stafford is steadily moving up the list from joke to godlike.

http://www.freep.com/article/20090727/SPORTS01/907270337/Lions-rookie-Matthew-Stafford-was-always-ahead-of-the-curve

At about 2 or 2 1/2 , after watching his dad shoot hoops in the backyard, Matthew could dribble a basketball with his fingertips -- with either hand.

At about 4 1/2 or 5, Matthew was sitting in a big chair with his dad, watching pro football on television. A sweep to the left failed when the ballcarrier was tackled behind the line of scrimmage. Matthew turned his head and said: "The tackle didn't pull." Seconds later, John Madden made the same analysis.

In fourth grade, Matthew was into soccer. He was playing an indoor game when the ball bounced into the air near the goal. He jumped up, executed a bicycle kick and put the ball into the corner of the goal.

"He'd just seen it on TV," John said. "He'd never done it before, and he's never afraid. It's just like, 'This is the place to do it.' "

some killer praise

The truth, though, is people in the organization believe Stafford is even better than they thought.

I don't care how good he looks in training camp.. I wouldn't start him until at least halfway through the season.

I would start him for 3 quarters in every preseason game.

I'd start Michael Vick at QB for the other quarter.

You guys are gonna be so glad your team ignored all the fans afraid to take Stafford.

I'd start Michael Vick at QB for the other quarter.

And that quarter would be the first quarter because you wouldn't want your starter getting hurt in the preseason. http://draftcountdown.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif

For Staford to have a chance the O-line must improve. I think that waiting at least half the season to start would help him out a lot and maybe take a little pressure off of him.

I think it's clear we're taking a WR next year in Round 1.
