I agree it looks like Kruger is ready to kill someone just in mini camp. If he can stay healthy I think he will be a beast.

I thought McGahee was switching back to 21. Either way Webb looks nice in 21

Well at one point the Ravens home website had McGahee at 21, now he's back at 23 lol. It also has Webb at 37 but it's looking like he will be 21. Oh well, I',m not too picky about #'s. Maybe McGahee decided to stay at 23 so he wouldn't piss off the fans who bought his jersey...

yea my dad got real pissed when Scott left and when he heard McGahee is going to 21. He spent $100 bucks on there jerseys the past 2 seasons. Hopefully McGahee will actually play well so people can actually wear his jersey.

I think those two are going to be the top 2 guys returning this year. I'm actually kind of hoping we don't put players back there that figure to see a lot of time on offense or defense because I don't wan them getting hurt on ST and having that screw up our offense or defense (Rice on offense to be particular).

Oher looks super athletic for someone who is gunna end up at RT. Him and Gaither are gunna be mean for a long time. Kruger is looking alot heavier then people gave him credit for, and I really hope Ellerbe makes the team. I know it isnt likely, but id be happy carrying Lewis/Gooden/Phillips/Griesen/Ellerbe and using Ayanbedejo there in any other case.

Our O-line should be rock solid.
C- Birk
LG- Grubbs
RG- Yanda
LT- Gaither
RT- Oher
- Oher is a tremendous upgrade no matter which way you look at it. Matt Birk is a HallOfFame Center that can still play with the best of them. By doing this we protect Flacco to get some deep passes, and continue our ground n pound game..

Gooden will start ILB for years n years to come. I think he's clear ahead of McClain, and Philips.

I'm excited about our secondary too.
Last year we were banged up, and inexperienced, but we still managed to play well in big games.
To be honest, I have no idea who'll start day 1 for corners..
Rolle vs. Washington vs. Foxworth for starters. (Don't count Rolle out)
whoever falls out of that competition will compete for nickel duties with Chris Carr.
Webb won't see much time on defense this year, He'll play special teams and will replace Rolle once his time is done.

It'll be a battle for starting corner. The only 1 with a clear edge is Fabian Washington. Carr, Foxworth, Rolle, and maybe even Webb were all brought in to compete. It'll be interested to see who performs the best outta the group

I heard Le'Ron is pissed about being moved back to fulltime FB.

He's saying all the right things, but why should he be happy? He just got named All-Pro because he got the rock a bunch of times. Now he's got to block and loses his chances to get carries. Every back wants the ball. I don't know how likely it is that this sticks though. He's gonna be our late in the game pounder. How many times did we stick to the run for like 20 plays straight. That's what we love to do. I don't see us leaving the 3 headed attack. With that said, I hope Jason Cook makes the team. Then we could really go power run.

I think the Baltimore Sun reported it. I know I saw it on kffl and pft. He's being moved back to FB. Cameron says he doesn't feel like he lost Neal because McClain is a 260 lb. bruiser who can take over and McClain's job this year will be to knock heads with linebackers.

Oh well then I was way off. Ray just has a massive chest then. T Good was smallish coming out, I didn't think he could be a great 34 backer but with him being at 247, this makes me more sure he can stand the pounding. I just read on the website that McClain is doing a good job in his transition from OLB to ILB, but Gooden has basically locked up the spot. They repeatedly said he was fast, all over the field.

Ravens1991
05-11-2009, 06:33 PM

Well, if McGahee can stay healthy, I think Peerman will get very little. Ray Rice should take alot of carries as well. I personally would love to get Peerman the ball, he is very fast and can be a homerun threat for us. Heres how I see it-

McGahee is the starter
Ray Rice as the #2 guy, he'll see alot of PT as well.
McClain will be our RB in the november/december stretch as well as late in the games when we are ahead.
Peerman will get the ball I guess, whenever we are comfortably ahead.

Ravens1991
05-11-2009, 06:40 PM
I think Peerman will get some carries. Especially now since McClain is the full time FB now so we will keep 3 RB.

McGahee wasnt fully healthy last year, he is working hard now showing up to voluntary mini camps. I think he can have a season like he had his 1st year here, maybe even better with our awesome o-line. I think Rice will be change of pace back but gets a good amount of carries as well. I think McClain will be the goal line back and he will get carries as well.

Yeah, but here are some questions-

Whos gonna be blocking for Le'Ron McClain on the goal line and short yardage sitiuations? Also, how good is our o-line really gonna be? All the chemistry they had last year is going to be different, but Matt Birk seems to be legit and they'll be back to normal soon but will there be any major changes? also how good will Oher be at RT?(assuming he will be the starter)

05-11-2009, 07:02 PM
For McClain to get a chance at carrying the ball i think we will need to get another FB (Jason Cook most likely). I think he mostly ran out of the jumbo packages last year, and he did well doing that. I'm not sure he has the speed/agility to run out of a single-back set nor would i want to risk him getting injured (he was a little banged up in a few games last year). We kept 5 RB's on the roster last year and i would expect us to keep around that same number this year whether it's 3 RB and 2 FB or 4 RB and 1 FB. Either way I think Peerman will make the team.

He'd be running without a lead blocker, unless someone like Jason Cook makes the team (which isn't guaranteed) in goal line situations I am sure we will have an extra guy on the line to get that push. I really think we are best served with him as FB and Rice and McGahee splitting the RB duties. I also think Cedric Peerman is being under rated a bit on here, he is a great compliment to Rice and McGahee and I wouldn't be mad to see him get 5 or so carries a game to start out.

I think our O-Line will be just as good if not better this year. Really the only guy gone is Brown and at this level one guy leaving isn't going to wreck chemistry, these guys are used to having guys come in and go out. We replaced Brown with a solid veteran in Matt Birk and though he may not be as young and explosive as Brown, he is just as, if not more skilled at the position. I think Oher has pro-bowl potential at RT, but we aren't going to dependent on him jumping right in as the starter since we still have Willie Anderson. I do think Oher will be the starter eventually at some point this season but we will ease him into the position.

Ravens1991

We may not be 100% confident in him but I think we are probably more confident at this point in time than letting an inexperienced rookie start out the gate. Of course Oher could come in, tear up training camp and pre season and earn that position, which would be fine with me, as long as he earns it.

Your #'s just signify your primary position (i.e. 1-19 QB, 20-49 RB, 10-19/80-89 WR, etc.)

Any player can line up at any position desired by their coach.

i hope that during his time here, neal was able to mentor leron mcclain about the nuances of being a blocking back. Though he was a runner last year, i think mcclain learned a lot last year and he can be a duel threat for us this year (punishing blocker & punishing runner)

The above quote, which you may see in the sigs of certain idiotic posters in full, is taken completely out of context. If you click on the View Post button and read the rest of the thread, it's obvious I did not abandon the Ravens fan base, nor was I the only Ravens fan dissatisfied with the Flacco pick. I would like to tell R/W/O nice try, and bantx that he is an unoriginal ****, since all he did was copy R/W/O.

im officially a jaguars fan now...bye bye terrible ravens who waste draft picks on horrible players...the only way the ravens could make this up to me would be by drafting quentin groves or brandon flowers, then i MIGHT forgive them

What's that you said in your quote? :D
