If you could add one O and one D player from your teams past dead or alive in their prime to your teams current roster who would they be?

My picks for the Chiefs.

O - Willie Roaf it all starts in the trenches and as much as I like Brandon Albert he is no Willie Roaf and moving him to RT would give the Chiefs a great set of OT's.

D - Derrick Thomas the Chiefs biggest need on D is by far getting a better pass rush and who better then DT to help in that area.

Honorable Mentions O - Tony Gonzalez,Will shields,Otis Taylor

Honorable Mentions D - Jared Allen,Buck Buchanan,Deron Cherry

Pass rush is the biggest need for NE right now. Bring back the recently inducted HOF'er, #56, Andre Tippett.

On offense: John Hannah. Hands down. SI called him "the best lineman of all time" . . . I won't argue.

haha. I took too long editing in the second half for Hannah. I can't image any other player on either side of the ball being a better addition. Armstrong is probably the only one even getting an honorable mention since OT is such an important position.

Bears:

Offense: Walter Payton. Yeah we got Forte and could use a receiver, but we've never had an awesome receiver and Payton is a god. Great 1-2 punch with him and Forte.

Defense: Dick Butkus. Put him in the middle, slide the somewhat deteriorating Urlacher to SAM, have Briggs still at WILL. ******* AMAZING linebacking corps. Best ever perhaps.

Ravens:

Offense: I was trying to think of an offensive weapon that the ravens had, but i cant think of any besides Jamal Lewis. If he was like he was in his 2000 yard season, the ravens would be tough to beat.

HM: Jonathan Ogden: Move Oher to guard, and Gaither to right.
LT: Ogden
LG: Grubbs
C: Birk
RG: Oher
RT: Gaither
that is a sick linee

Defense: Peter Boulware.
Since we run the 3-4 now, who best to bring back than the best pass rusher in ravens history. With both him and suggs attacking the ends, that would be a nightmare.
If we ran a 4-3, I would love to have Michael McCrary back. I loved his intensity and passion

The Saints choices suck with Archie Griffin being at the same position as our best players.

Offense: Deuce McCallister - Great complement to Reggie and was a beast in his prime.

Defense: LaRoi Glover - Team with Ellis and give a great D-Line, not a whole lot of great choices I could think of.

Minnesota Vikings

Offense- Fran Tarkenton (No question)

Defense- John Randle (Even though he played DT I think he could slide to the outside and play DE, he's not too big and he's quick. Front Four of Allen, Williams, Williams and Randle *drools)

Otherwise guys Carl Eller and Alan Page come into the mix too for that last D-Line spot.

The greatest running back if not just the greatest football player of all time. Sammie Baugh has an argument, but that's about it.

Defense: Eric Turner

Eric Turner hit like a truck and was a ballhawk. A member of one of the stingiest defenses of all time, the 1994 Cleveland Browns, Eric Turner had his best season of his career with 9 INTs. Turner was good enough at UCLA to be picked 2nd overall in the 1991 Draft.

For the Rams, its really hard considering some of the offensive fire-power we've had...but because of Steven Jackson I'd go with Isaac Bruce back in 1998 when he absolutely DESTROYED the entire league, obviously Erik Dickerson or Superman Faulk would be huge but with out need WR is bigger...and on defense I'd go with either Deacon Jones or London Fletcher....

I'm surprised none of the Ravens fans have cited Priest Holmes.

Texans could at least claim a healthy, prime of his career Boselli at OT. Defensively is tougher . . . maybe the short stint he did there would make Rosy Colvin eligible? If not go with Aaron Glenn.

KC has a pretty solid list of RBs, but why not go another decade with the GOAT at TE?

I guess we still need to improve our offense, the Giants never really had a great WR, so I guess I'd take Tiki in his prime back, just without the loud-mouthness, him and Jacobs would make a scary duo, plus Tiki was a great receiver out of the backfield, which is something we currently lack with our RBs.

well for us ravens fans, we remember priest as the guy who lost his job to jamal our superbowl year. he was a solid player but nothing spectacular. It wasnt until he left baltimore that he exploded, so many ravens fans (i believe) see that priest holmes to be the chiefs priest holmes.

That's not true. Montana was already great when Rice got there. And since the framework of this whole thread is based on adding these guys to your current team, the 49ers are desperate for QB help.

How far does Rice get with Alex Smith and Shaun Hill?

Joe Montana is arguably the greatest QB of all time... it's a slam dunk

Seahawks

Offense: RB Curt Warner

While Steve Largent is obviously the best offensive player in Seahawks history, WR is a much stronger position for the Seahawks than RB is. Warner makes it here ahead of Alexander because he was a more talented RB, just didnt have Alexanders stats.

Defense: Safety Kenny Easley

This is between Cortez Kennedy and Easley, but again safety is a weaker position than DT. Just getting rid of Brian Russell would be amazing. Easley is considered by alot of people to be the most talented safety of his era, but his career was cut short by injuries.

Hard hitting LBer sized Safety would really help solidify an already talented back end. Pairing him with Chinedum Ndukwe would be scary.

Marshall Faulk was sort of a bust for the Colts. Ravens could just go back to their 1996 draft. Montana won a SuperBowl w/o Rice I believe.

I'm just saying...Jerry Rice was once in a life time. Joe Montana was great, don't get me wrong, top 5 of all time for sure, and at a position of need so it makes sense, granted. But personally, I would take Jerry Rice because he's far and away the best wide receiver to ever play football.

Marshall Faulk was sort of a bust for the Colts.

How is that he played five years for the Colts and had had over 1000 yards rushing four out of five seasons while putting up solid receiving numbers as well.

Faulk was an established star before he caught on with the Rams. He had like 2,200 yards from scrimmage his last year with the Colts. And he had 50+ total tds in 5 years there. He was also already a three time pro bowler.

Dermontti Dawson... Best Center ever to play... would really add a huge improvement to our OL.

Mean Joe Greene.

Could you Imagine Joe Greene as the WDE in our 3-4..

Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton, Joe Greene...

I was going to go with Dawson and Mel Blount... But once I saw that DL of Smith, Hampton and Mean Joe... I think I'll have to go with Dawson and Joe Greene as well.

if the scenario for the 49ers was that they had a decent QB and poor recievers, Jerry Rice would be the choice, but the fact that the question is to implement these players into today's roster, the choice has to be either Joe Montana or Steve Young. With young recievers such as Michael Crabtree and Josh Morgan with a veteran prescence of Isaac Bruce, the 49ers have a strong WR corp. Give that group a legendary QB, and they will produce

Montana: also once in a lifetime, at a much more valuable position. Sad to say, but it's no contest in my mind. I also wouldn't take any QB other than Montana if I had to pick. Maybe Fouts if I drank my homerade that day.
