I really hope they at least updated the recruiting process. It's fun, but they got 18 year olds out of high school running 4.19 40's and benching 500 pounds, squatin 700, etc. Even their lift numbers are stupid as they say Player A benches 347 lbs. Who the hell puts on a weight that doesn't end in 0 or 5?

I understand there are always going to be the freaks of nature, but they had like over 100 prospects who were like 2 star recruits with insane workout numbers.

I wish your 2-3 star recruits would have a shot at the next level. I dominated the game with a 2-star Receiver who ended up winning two Heismans his Junior and Senior year but he graduated with a rating of just 79 so his dreams of being in the Madden Draft Class were shattered. :(

For some reason, I get excited over what the menus and presentation of NCAA and Madden. It's kind of cool to see which theme they go with each season.

I've seen some of the pre-release screens, and the menus look great, and the presentation look more smoother and much more presentable then the rough, old-school-like theme they had last year.

Video game Erin Andrews looks exactly the same as rl though, still hot.

Well, to be real, prospects marked as athletes usually aren't on the OL. And Athletes always succeeded at DE, and likely still can.

I hope they add 3-4 personal. I ran a 3-4, but it was tough to recruit the right players for the front 7. It was tough to find big run stoppers for NT, 3-4 pass rushing OLB, etc.

I would usually have to convert people, and that would lead to their ratings be lessened.

As long as they worked the kinks out with the online dynasty I'll be happy, I loved the game last year, but it doesn't have as much replay value as Madden for me, even though I probably liked NCAA more.

I wish they could add Play-offs to dynasty mode. Of course this could be turned on or off and if you elect to have a play-off then you could pick how many teams participate, 4,8 12 or 16. Now that would be GREAT! I know they wouldnt do it but a guy can dream.

I actually prefer Brian Johnson on the cover. It's a college player who was one of the best players in the nation last year and led his team to an extremely impressive victory over Alabama in a BCS Bowl.

You can't honestly tell me that Mark Sanchez and Brian Orakpo meant more to their team than Johnson meant to Utah.

If the casual fan doesn't know who he is, oh well, it's not it will hurt sales.

I know I'm in the minority, but I hope they add the Percy Harvin facemask. 90% of college players wear it, including like 95% of Florida's team. I'm just real particular about the equipment players wear in the game.

Going to address a few things from this thread.

1) Rosters aren't going to be fixed. EA will smokescreen and say they're "working on it" but you all have to realize that this is EA Sports...they're not going to the extra mile for you. (can you really call it an extra mile when accurate rosters is part of their jobs?)

2) There are no "in season updates" like I heard mentioned above. Never has been.

3) Percy Harvin/Brian Orakpo/50% of college football players revo facemask is NOT in.

4) Hand towels/refs/chain gangs/coaches on sideline/increased presentation/everything Madden got new is NOT in.

5) Medical redshirts are NOT in.

6) The big feature this year is TEAMBUILDER! (which, if you played the ps2 version you know is just Create-A-School. They're making a big deal about a feature that should be expected on "next-gen" consoles.)

7) Another new feature is called Season Showdown, where you earn points for your school based on sportsmanship (pssssst, look at #8 now).

8) EA is making people pay for offline/online dynasty cheats, which allow players to increase their recruiting, increase stadium Toughest Places to Play rank, maximize off-season training, as well as add any pipeline state you choose...for the right price. So you pay 63 for the game and then they want you to pay 12.50 (price of all of the above cheats) additionally after the fact. Hmmmmm

2. Just played the demo. Had it on the default Varsity. First off, the usual suspect. Almost impossible to get serious penetration with the DL. Secondly, way too many turnovers. The CPU DL seemed to get a ton of pressure, and caused me to throw a stupid pick, and I fumbled twice. The CPU fumbled once and threw 3 INTs. Lots of broken tackles for each team as well.

Just finished playing the demo and it is pretty sick. Definitely going to buy it. I was Florida and their playbook was so realistic. The feel is a little different but that's alright. Pretty much the same game as '09 but a bit better in every way.

I played NCAA 10 at best buy, I liked it it was pretty good. I think think it has kind of a stiff feeling compared to madden. But I guess EA think tuning down game speed would make it college like. But other than that I liked it. Yes it was the full version I got to play with Temple.

Prolly. I mean honestly, I know we lost King and Kroul, but we return 8 starters off of a top 10 defensive team, yet we get a C grade and are worse than almost every Big XI team. Idk how they can say Illinois has a better D than us, but I mean INDIANA??? And the fact that Indiana is overall rated better than us and we are even with Purdue is an absolute joke.

I'm just baffled as to how these ratings were created.

Oh, and we have a worse D than Texas Tech and equal to Hawaii. Awesome.

Yes, but if you have XBL, it won't be an issue because you'll be downloading named rosters anyway which will all manually fix it.

Well, one complaint I've had with these next gen versions of Madden is that if I change one thing on a player (equipment, position, number) something goes wrong, like their shoulder pads get super wide or their muscles get gigantic. So, I assume it's the same on NCAA, and if I was going to get another football game, I'd go for the PS2 one because I know what I am getting. That is why I ask.

Florida has some good QBs behind Tebow. Also, you could use Andre Debose and dominate the world.

Madden needs to do this as well...biggest problem is DE to OLB. There are a lot of stud recruits or prospects that can make the switch in recruiting or the draft. But they'll go from like an 80 overall to a 54 overall, after making the switch. It's ridiculous.

I'd also like to see better rating switches when you move a talented DT to DE in NCAA. Like a 6'6 290 pound DT with 70 speed and 85 strength. The guy should be a stud 3-4 end but, their rating always dip significantly.

Man, I'd roll with Bama...I had a sick online dynasty with them in 09 on here I never finished, Star Jackson and Julio wreck as freshman and are fun to grow around, but the defense is stacked, the recruiting is one of the best schools on the game, Saban can still get whoever he wants.


You can end up with the best classes in the SEC with Bama and I think they recruit better then Florida, plus their is nobody on Florida's offense I'd rather have for 2-3 years then Julio Jones.

Eh, I used to do it just fine. I had an OLB that came in at 6'4", 230 pounds and finished at 6'4", 250 pounds. Perfect size for my scheme, though I did run a hybrid that focused a hell of a lot more on speed compared to size.

What are some of your favorites routes to use in the passing game? I'm a big West Coast offense fan in these games. Slants, curls and the like. The circle route with your RB is great to use if the other team blitzes and leaves the middle open. I rented the '08 game for a week and played it a lot. Brandon Minor had something like 55 catches, mostly with the circle route. It's really hard to stop, even in man coverage.

Also, throwing deep last year was a bit tough for me. Are you supposed to hold down the button for a long throw or tap it like in years past?

To throw deep, it depends what you want. If you want to get it out in front of the WR, tap it. If you want to man up with a DB and come back to it, rocket it down.

Rocket Catching. Basically a way to use the curls and tall WRs to crush people in the last few football video games. From what I've been told, they are a bit less effective this year.

And I love playing against 3-4s. I can jack those up all day :D

My buddy and I were messing around w/ the demo some more yesterday...and I have to say, I really hate two things.

1. The new overhead view when you look at your receivers or your play. Freaking blimp view, it's terrible, imo.

2. Some of the tackle animations. Most in fact. They dont look like any tackles I've seen. Seems like Deion put on the animation suit to help them. haha. Some of the tackling animations are just beyond ugly.

From what I hear EA Locker has the patch ready to go with the names and that one has everyone fixed and updated with real names either system, but we'll find out pretty soon how accurate that is lol.

I won my Gamestop tournament! Mostly because I was the only one to show up. But hey, 30-40 bucks in prizes is nice. And I got to play the game for two hours. Tons of fun. Plus the Gamestop guy threw in the preorder special even though I didn't preorder at that GS.

I found this from a good sports gaming website i go to often, they get good info:

We now have the names of the EA Lockers that contain the “fixed” rosters for NCAA Football 10. The rosters that shipped with the game were incomplete. Some teams had no or very few freshman and there were also players still around who had graduated and moved on. These rosters are simply the “fixed” rosters in that they are what should have gone out with the final version of the game. They are not the named rosters. It may be the weekend before anyone completes a fully named roster set. While these rosters apparently are still riddled with inaccuracies at least the set should be fixed in structure.

To get the “fixed” rosters search for the following EA Locker names:

PS3: EASCNCAA10
Xbox 360: EASCNCAA10
The upcoming patch will include fixed rosters so as to be accessed for online play along with the ability to block DLC cheats in Online Dynasty. That patch has been in the certification process so it should be out within the next week or so. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there will be any solution on the Teambuilder end and those flawed rosters will have to be carried in by the created teams.

I hate that swat on defense is now 'LB' for the 360 instead of 'A', and 'A' is that defense assist or whatever, going to take me a minute to get used to that.


Maybe it's better, I just hate when they change buttons like that in the middle of a series because it takes getting used to before it comes 2nd nature, especially since the swat has been A for a long time now.


I do like the view from defensive player lock, but once you go into that view and the play starts you can't switch to a guy close to the ball at all...Awesome if you want to play corner, but if the ball goes elsewhere your way out of the play relying on the cpu.

It will work. Showdown is kind of sweet. But losing Sportsmanship isn't too big of a deal. It is interesting to see what schools have good sportsmanship (FSU, Rutgers, etc) and what teams have TERRIBLE sportsmanship (Texas, Ohio State). But everything else is fun, and it is fun to have. Would be cool to add to Madden too.

I got my *** kicked my first full game on Heisman, Texas v. Wisconsin and they won 20-17 on a last second fg, but I didn't realize how stupid your team plays if you leave everything on 'aggressive' so it took me 2 terrible quarters to figure that out.


Chris Whaley is a beast, he had over 100 rushing and receiving yds, it's hard as hell to pass though, at least for me, complete 180 from how easy it was to pass last year.

I beat Oregon 62-17 on Heisman difficulty :( At least you can't zigzag for touchdowns like you could vs the CPU last year.

Word. I don't like how they display the tendency and the 3 top schools in recruiting. Last year, you could see it instantly this year it slowly flashes across. And it seems slow as a whole. Oh well, won't stop me from playing.

As far as the game, I love it. I'm currently 8-1 online. I should be 8-3, but 8-1 is right as well. One of the three losses should be from a disconnection, but I was winning by two possessions and was going to win. The other game the guy had to cheat. He ran for 450+ yards with Brandon Minor and Michigan. I'm not sure how to explain it, but my whole team kind of went away from him. He won the game on a last second 49 yard run. A run. With like seven seconds left on the forty nine yard line. Yeah.

But otherwise it is ownage as usual. The only real loss came when I attempted to use Georgia Tech. and their offense. It's not that bad, but it is different. I lost by like four points.

Virginia Tech. is beast in the game. Very good defense, great (overrated) offense. Darren Evans is a beast in the game, too fast though. Tyrod is also a beast. The receivers are overrated at this point, but I'm not complaining. Offensive line is great. Ryan Williams is underrated though, and I can't use Logan Thomas or David Wilson online :(.

Oh, and I think Greg Hardy is the most dominant player in the game. I had eight sacks with him in a game. Like thirteen sacks total with Ole Miss that game.

Just click on season showdown and pick the team you want to roll with. Whenever you play as this team off or online, you'll earn credits. Which I guess are basically useless, really. You can check where you rank among those that are using the same school and such.

If you pick Washington...but use USC online, no credits will tally.

I dont really understand the point of it, in the long run.

haha. It seemed the first few games I played that no one was open...ever. But I've got the hang of passing now. But I'm absolutely killing people on the ground and that normally isnt my game. My last 3 games, I granted mercy at half time and had atleast 170 yards rushing at the half in each.

Also...I dont know what the case is for everyone else, but the online play for me has been amazing. No lag at all, if feels like I'm playing the cpu. It's great. Hopefully, that carries over to our online dynasty because, I've run into a few problems there last year.

Yea I played it some. Same general set up, Erin Andrews does reports and stuff on your career and they take highlights from your games and pictures. They also added a dorm room. Progression is insanely fast still (went from a 78 to a 91 in 2 weeks). Didn't get to the offseason but I'm sure it's the same.

I played some lame dude who would take (seemed like) a minute every time to pick a play, and would some times not even pick a play. After slapping him with two un answered TD's he drops his connection. I then had to play the CPU for the rest of the game to get the win.

Just super sim it. Much faster.

as for my record...since it was the EA servers, it didnt count. I won my last game just now. 7-0 now. Seems like I played a lot more than that. Games take a long time.

If your winning by enough points lol, sucks when your only up by 7 and super sim and you end up losing, so I just keep an eye on it.


I'm still trying to get a feel for the passing game on Heisman vs the computer, there have been numerous times I've ran a play and not one WR was even halfway open when I check the replay, guess I need to do a better job of setting up the defense because I can't seem to get a groove passing the ball.

Oh my god, for real. I only go play by play because, some teams really suck while super simming. I was just playing this dude, I was up 14-0 when he quit and then I super simmed for a while, and Alabama took a 17-14 lead. So lame. That was also in about 3 total minutes off the game clock. :/

Heisman is much harder now...hell, my defense is pretty sporadic when people quit online and I'm playing he cpu on All-American.
