On September 11, 2001 19 terrorists struck the United and killed 2,998 Americans. Since then we have fought in two wars that have killed 4,963 more. Blue Skies and thank you for your sacrifice.
Let's not forget about our previous wars now...

Usually the holiday falls on my birthday but I am eternally grateful for the sacrifices as two of my uncles are in the service.

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae, 1915.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Climbing on armored combat vehicles never gets old, even when it is your job.
