His efforts have convinced me to care about David Price's pitching line in the box-score.

Well let me see here...
Blindsite (Carolina Panthers)- Most certainly.
Chucky (Toronto Raptors)-Don't follow the NBA thread much.
M.O.T.H (Dallas Cowboys)- No.
Tampa 2 For Life (Tampa Bay Rays)-Homer? Perhaps. Not to a ridiculous amount though as he does get on people when necessary.
JHG722 (Philadelphia Phillies)-For sure. The sheer annoyance adds points as well.
TacticaLion (Detroit Lions)-Yep.
BamaFalcon59 (Virginia Tech Hokies)-Yep.
adschofield (Kansas Jayhawks)-Don't really know.
sweetness34 (Illinois Fighting Illini)-Yes.
Mr. Stiller (Pittsburgh Steelers)-Most certainly.
It's going to be BlindSite>Stiller for me.

This one was really close for me, if I had 2 votes, my other vote would have gone to BlindSite, but Stiller's homerism is just a little more pronounced to me.

I'm much more familiar with Tactica's work than with Blindsite's, so there you go. But as a fellow Lions fan I can appreciate his depth of homerism much more deeply.

A Defensive Linemen has turned the game in our favor in each of our first 2 games, and our defense is (statistically) not last or not far behind the other defenses in the NFC North. I, personally, don't think that "team" stats mean much, but the plays they've made do. You've been shown.
So, wait... what was your point again? "I can see clearly now the bullshits gone"...
He asked to be shown something, so I showed him something. He wanted to know what makes our DLine good, and I gave him a variety of information.
Not much else to say about that, huh "awfullyquiet"?
It's time for me to go - for good. Although I only try to voice my opinions about the Lions (8-8 this year, for example), I draw entirely too much negative attention to the Lions' forum. Next best thing: to leave.
And the beat goes on and on and on...

I have a question then.
With Gonzo and Winslow out of the conference, is this the year Heath Miller could make the Pro-Bowl?
Not to mention Farrior/Lewis are 2 of the best Blitzing LB's in the game, toppled with LaMarr Woodley waiting in the wings when a guy needs a breather.
(Not to mention Lawrence Timmons who could attack the QB from Any LB position, or cover teams #3 WR or TE.)
Ike Taylor Shut out TO last season. Not to mention Moss wouldn't be able to get past both Reed AND Polamalu.
Personally, I think the Notables Guys even leans to AFC North (Considering who you had to leave off..
S. Holmes, R. Mendenhall...)
Not to mention Rey Maualuga, Andre Smith, and Michael Johnson just from Cincy alone could make depth even more intriguing in AFCN's favor.
HAHAHA Steelers Got Hosed.
If Only an All-Pro LG and 2nd Highest Contract winner with a Pro-bowl showing deserved more than a 5th.
If only Alan Faneca was as good a guard as Gibril Wilson, Bernard Berrian... heck Odom, Florence even Jake Scott (Another guard that IIRC didn't have post season Honors)..
3rd Round Comp (in order):
New England - Asante Samuel
Cincinnati - Justin Smith
Chicago - Bernard Berrian
New York Giants - Gibril Wilson
4th Round Comp (in order):
San Diego - Michael Turner
San Diego - Drayton Florence
Tennessee - Antwan Odom
Indianapolis - Jake Scott
5th Round Comp (in order)
Pittsburgh - Alan Faneca
New England - Donte Stallworth
San Francisco - Kwame Harris
Dallas - Jacques Reeves
Tennessee - Travis LaBoy
Interesting Article:
Believe it or not, Ben Roethlisberger’s first 5 NFL season compare favorably with what Tom Brady accomplished during his first 5 seasons. Let’s take a closer look:
Ben Roethlisberger, first 5 years:
14,974 yards 62.4 comp% 101 TD, 69 INT, 7.9 YPA, 89.4 QB Rating, 51 wins, 2 SB's
Tom Brady, first 5 years:
13925 yards, 61.5 comp%, 97 TD, 52 INT, 6.9 YPA, 87.4 QB Rating, 48 wins, 3 SB's
As you can see Roethlisberger bests Brady in wins, completion %, YPA, QB rating, and TD passes. After 5 years there was no doubt that Tom Brady was elite, at least that is what the media told us. Ben Roethlisberger is lucky to get mentioned as a top 5 QB by some, let alone elite. Now let’s wrap our heads around what each player did in the playoffs to win his first 2 Super Bowls. Here is a stat line from each playoff game for the two player’s first two runs to the big game.
Tom Brady
21 - 41 201 yards 1 TD 0 INT 4.9 YPA 51.2% 73.3 rating
22 - 37 237 yards 1 TD 1 INT 6.4 YPA 59.5% 76.1 rating
32 - 48 354 yards 3 TD 1 INT 7.4 YPA 66.7% 100.5 rating
32 - 52 312 yards 0 TD 1 INT 6.0 YPA 61.5% 70.4 rating
12 - 18 115 yards 0 TD 0 INT 6.4 YPA 66.7% 84.3 rating
16 - 27 145 yards 1 TD 0 INT 5.4 YPA 59.3% 86.2 rating
Totals: 227 YPG 6 TD 3 INT 6.1 YPA 60.5% 81.3 rating
Ben Roethlisberger
14 - 19 208 yards 3 TD 0 INT 10.9 YPA 73.7% 148.7 rating
14 - 24 197 yards 2 TD 1 INT 8.2 YPA 58.3% 95.3 rating
21 - 29 275 yards 2 TD 0 INT 9.5 YPA 72.4% 124.9 rating
9 - 21 123 yards 0 TD 2 INT 5.9 YPA 42.9% 22.6 rating
17 - 26 181 yards 1 TD 0 INT 7.0 YPA 65.4% 98.4 rating
16 - 33 255 yards 1 TD 0 INT 7.7 YPA 48.5% 84.8 rating
21 - 30 256 yards 1 TD 1 INT 8.5 YPA 70.0% 93.2 rating
Totals: 213 YPG 10 TD 4 INT 8.2 YPA 61.5% 96.6 rating
The conventional wisdom (i.e. what the media has told us) is that Roethlisberger was carried by a great defense and running game, while the infallible Tom Brady was the main factor behind the Patriots success. As we can see here Roethlisberger had more TD passes, a much better YPA, a better completions % and far superior QB rating on his two Super Bowl runs than Tom Brady had on his first two runs. In fact on his first run to a SB title at age 23 Roethlisberger threw more TD passes (7) than Tom Brady did in his first two runs to the SB combined (6). Roethlisberger had a whopping 5 out of 7 games with a QB rating over 93. We have heard time and time again “yeah but, Ben played awful in SBXL”. There is some truth to that, he did play like a 23 year old full of nerves in that game, but the three road games he won on the strength of his passing game often gets over-looked. Tom Brady was much the game manager on his first SB run, throwing 1 TD and 1 INT in three games combined, and he threw for less than 150 total yards in 2 of those 3 games. This is not to discredit Tom Brady as both players have built great legacies, but is more of an attempt to shine the light on the fact that Roethlisberger is at least Tom Brady’s equal at a similar point in his career, yet Big Ben has gotten 1/10th the credit by that Brady has received.
The historical player who is the best comparison for Ben Roethlisberger is John Elway, a player widely considered one of the 5 best QB's to ever play the game. Here is how they stack up after 5 years in the NFL:
Ben Roethlisberger
14,974 yards 62.4 comp% 101 TD, 69 INT, 7.9 YPA, 89.4 QB Rating, 51 wins, 2 SB wins
John Elway
14,835 yards 54.1 comp% 85 TD, 77 INT, 6.8 YPA, 74.9 QB rating, 46 wins, 0 SB wins
Yeah, most people focus on the drops, but fail to realize how amazing his route running progressed and his deep speed is ridiculous.
In the AFC Championship game he made one of their Nickel CB's look terrible, they kept biting on all his fakes (Head fake, double move) but he was getting WIDE open.
He starts catching better, he'll be what Plax was supposed to be for us, but faster.
Not to mention, ask the same CB about his ability to Ward-Block.
Some samples of Stiller's work, since TL and BlindSite have already been quoted here.

I've had some epic battles with Stiller over how i refuse to believe Roethlisberger is an elite QB and how DeMarcus Ware should have won DPOY. There's no fighting his homerism.

Tactica's in this, so you can pretty much forget it. I'm actually surprised he's not in the lead, there's a major difference between an annoying homer and a stupid homer.
