If you have seen my sig, you know that I am now addicted to Twitter.

Anyone else on it? Thoughts? Feelings?

I'll be honest, I was pretty anti-Twitter, it was a head scratcher for me as to why people would use it and what it does. As I was repondering this, I thought, maybe this is that point when I start resisting new fads/technology and become an "old person." So, I tried it out. Did it throughout my trip to New York, and it was fun. It was pretty uplifting to be honest.

It seems to only be getting more popular, so I am enjoying it. Just wondering if anyone else is anti-Twitter/using it themselves?

I'm still in the facebook stage. Isn't twitter the same thing as updating your status on facebook? I don't know, I've never used Twitter...

Social networking . . .

is great when there's a point.

NFL . . . er, I mean SWDC = social networking based on a shared interest. Great stuff. Every forum I frequent is based on something that is a hobby/interest or other social/recreational pastime. I love them. Hell, I'll throw in business networking sites like LinkedIn & Ryze. There's a point - but go beyond that and it gets downright silly.

Facebook, MySpace and sites like it are pointless drivel.

Twitter seems to be of the same ilk. Following the personal lives of atheletes, celebs, or anyone else that closely is . . . disturbing . . . to me.

I don't really care what your **** looked like this morning JBond. Stop trying to update me on your stool.

Facebook isn't pointless drivel at all. It's a great way to keep in touch with friends from high school, geographically distant relatives, and sharing photos. It's lost some of its primary uses with the stupid applications and stuff, but I still really enjoy using it and it's a great time killer

Maybe you just don't have enough friends on there.. ;)

I think it all depends what it is used for. I like to think of it as kind of a running online journal. It is nice to do some type of things on there, connect with people and see what is on their mind.

Likewise, you not only update what you are doing, but it is a way for an interaction of what others are doing/thinking.

For example, there are a group of guys doing a Mock Fantasy Football Draft, so I have been commenting on it and interacting with them as they pick.

Likewise, it is something you can easily update as you go. Some of those thoughts you have that are fleeting as time goes on can be documented. Whether people want to know about me or not, I don't care, I am having fun with it :D

lol. I'm the one that everyone keeps asking "how are you not on there?"

Agreed. I use it for the quick Hi's and seeing what people are up to.

You are both likely in the very small percentage of people using it for keeping in touch. My fiancee does that with Myspace b/c she lived in Salt Lake for years so it helped her find people again when she moved.

But I'm old school. I have kept in touch with everyone I wanted to keep in touch with. Phones, email, video links on line, etc. - they all work better than a random page that provides little direct interaction.

If we haven't kept in touch by phone, email or any other method then facebook, myspace, or twitter become one more medium where we can lose touch. What's the big deal?

I've been kind of anti-twitter for a while but it might be misplaced. I have no real reason for disliking it, I just think it's kinda dumb and unnecessary. But hey, if you enjoy it, who cares what other people think?

And there are much hotter pics of Cassadee out there but no one will ever top that which is Hayley Williams. I would do unspeakable things to hit that just one time. Unthinkable things.

edit: I will admit that it was kind of cool during the election but I haven't really been back since. I do have a twitter but I don't think I've ever used it to send out a message, just to receive and read them. :)

It's just pointless to me, famous people, anchors, agents yes it makes alot of sense, but unless you hold some sort of significance I have no urge to know what your doing or about to do.

I barely use Facebook alot but it's the same thing, and sometimes that gets old, females start to think their more important then they really are, and I don't want to feed into that...I've gotten on to follow famous people before but no need to sign up, it's always been pointless to me and until I get a career where I want to start to market myself it'll be that way for me.

I feel like if I start jumping on all these fads and crap I'll turn into a female myself, I don't need every new online interaction website everytime one comes out, I check my myspace one a day, Facebook a few times a week, and that's as good as I need, just cracks me up seeing some friends on myspace saying "hey follow me on twitter" like who are you?

If you have a purpose like JBond cool, your own website, radio show, things like that are enough credentials to make it happen, but I don't wanna hear about some chic on her way to the mall, or how she's missing her bf, I mean come on now.

It's a good way to keep up to date with news. Like if a hot lead singer from a band were to post nudes of herself by accident, you'd be the first to know!

Anyone else follow Seth MacFarlane on Twitter? He tweeted this today and it made me laugh for a while..

"Hey, when those trapped miners in Chile finally get back up here, let’s all pretend to be robots from the future."

I got a collection of some of my favorites from Seth that are worth reading:

I think "Bieber fever" would make a great slang term for AIDS.

1965 movie billboard: Julie Andrews cavorting joyously in the Alps.
2010 movie billboard: Jason Bateman staring into a cupful of jizz.

This egg recall is exactly the reason that I **** my own chickens.

"William Peter Blatty" sounds like the three steps of diarrhea.

When they named the storm Earl, they pretty much guaranteed that it would destroy some property.

If "Contact" is correct about the range of our TV signals, then the cast of Jersey Shore are our ambassadors to alien civilizations. ****.

When my cat is done being petted, he claws the **** out of my arm. It's cat talk for "Thank you for the attention. Now you will die."

Watching Wrath of Khan. I just caught Kirk with his britches down.

Next Presidential election, we need to get some guys with beards in there. It's been too long.

That's enough, Katy Perry.

I bet a porno starring Tim Allen would still be perfect for the whole family.

I support the right of the Jedi to build a temple, but does it have to be two blocks from the ruins of the Death Star?

Nels Oleson was a giant *****.

I hope we never have to see what's under all that Gaga.

Wonder if I'm the only man who's ever been forcibly kissed by David Hasselhoff on TV. I suppose I could do worse. Could've been Alan Alda.

Barack Obama's tweets are too official. Just once I'd like to see something like: "Just took a Biden-sized ****."
