View Full Version : Favre goes under the knife.

TitleTown088

Cortisone injections and biceps exercises didn't fix the problem, so Favre demonstrated his obvious intent to play again by having the operation. Favre has struggled in throwing sessions since the May surgery, however, and his comeback remains on hold. ESPN reports that Favre will not return unless his passing makes "significant progress" before the season. The Vikings were originally set to sign Favre, but only if he participated in all of the offseason program. Their OTAs wrap are expected to wrap up on Friday.

Does this means he's wearing purple sometime soon?

I don't know if this really means Favre becoming a Viking but it does bring up the questions on is he really retired and does he want to play still. We will see in the upcoming weeks because we know ESPN and NFLN won't let this bit of news slide by.

It's really the same question. He'll either be playing for the Vikings or retired there is no third option.

he just starts showing up at random NFL events because it generates camera face time?

Just because a dude has surgery to repair a part of your body you use a LOT every day and doesn't alert the media doesn't mean he's having some secret surgery to play again.

Favre will either end up a coach or some kind of commentator, I doubt we see him play again.

coach Brad Childress has imposed a deadline of this week for Brett Favre to decide whether he will be the team's quarterback for the upcoming season, according to two sources.

Muhsin Muhammad is probably the closest thing. But previous to Cutler when has a good Quarterback come here either?

I still love Muhammad he probably shouldn't have gobbed off, but any WR who gets over 900 yards at 36 and still blocks better than most of the WRs in the NFL is ok in my book.

You underestimate Favre.

I dont think the Vikings are a super bowl team with Favre. They could be a team that makes a deep run into the playoffs. If the vikings get Favre the NFC North could become a much more competitive division between the Vikings, Bears and Packers.

Brad Childress denying there ever was a Favre deadline. This is called "Favre chopped my nuts off because he knew I didn't really have them to begin with."

Pat Kirwan said the day that the deadline story came out that it was all false. Childress would have been crazy to put a deadline on Favre. Everyone that is a NFL fan knows that Favre wouldn't care about a deadline.

If Favre is going to sign as a viking it will happen after the last OTA's and before Training Camp. He knows the vikings offense so its not that big of a deal if he comes in late anyways.

Former NFL executive Pat Kirwan of Sirius NFL Radio said Favre will join the Vikings on July 15 or earlier. Kirwan is friendly with Childress and was the first to refute the fact that a deadline existed.

I seems like all childress is waiting for is medical clearance so he can start touching favre in a sexual manner.

This is going to make the packers vikes game interesting this year.

My view has all ways been until there's ink it's to be doubted in the NFL.

This however, is an interesting move. Jackson doesn't improve, the poor dude they paid for gets to sit on the bench for another year and Minnesota delays the inevitable (finding a future at QB).
