View Full Version : Yet another reason to hate Adam Schefter...

God I hate this piece of garbage, on NFL Network's State of the Franchise he says that with our first 2 picks we should go after Justin Blaylock and Troy Smith. He is always riding John Clayton's jock in terms of reporting breaking stories and is just plain annoying!

If we waste a second on Troy Smith I will personally kick Ozzie Newsome in the nuts.

Since when would Ozzie listen to a guy from NFL Network? Relax!

I hate Schefter as well, and the draft will be fine, except we really need to hit on these picks now cause we only have 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders plus a comp pick or 2.

Indeed the heat is on with less picks, although we may be in line for up to 4 comp picks.

4? You think so, comp picks are for players who left in FA last year right? so we'd get 1 for Chester Taylor, and Demps but who else.

We should get something for Kemu that went to Carolina last year to...

i think we will end up getting a 4th and 5th for compensation from kemo, taylor and demps..comp picks are really awarded by contract size more then what they did so next year we could possibly be getting a 3rd for Thomas and a 4th for Mughelli and Pashos

Justin Blaylock would be a great pick up for you guys IMO.

Well thanks for your input but your opinion is wrong. Blaylock is a true guard who can play tackle and our pressing needs are for tackle. Not to mention that recently University of Texas offensive linemen don't exactly have a great history of success.

I can't agree more about Blaylock and Texas OL.... but I will say this much Texas was a recruiting machine for years before they won a National Championship. They were always recruiting the best talent but couldnt equate it to wins. Now they are starting to produce better players into the NFL. So it will only be a matter of time before these guys start bringing something special to the NFL. Its just like Miami... they are always a very tough team to play because of talent, not always the best Team but they have the best individuals which turn out to be top flight NFL talent...

Eh, Blalock wouldn't be pretty in the first. Guards can be found later, especially with rising talents like Barbre and Alleman, both of whom are likely in the first day picture (actually, I think Alleman is a possible 2nd rounder). I think going after a RT like Marc Columbo makes a lot of sense right now, a solid capable guy that can hold the fort for a couple years, and would offer options. He shouldn't be that costly.

4? You think so, comp picks are for players who left in FA last year right? so we'd get 1 for Chester Taylor, and Demps but who else.

Well if you look at the free agents we lost:

Dave Zastudil
81 punts 3563 yards 38.4 net average 7 TB 28 inside the 20 7.3 return average

Anthony Weaver
35 Tackles 26.0 total 9.0 assisted 1 sack 1 interception 1 fumble recovery

Maake Kemoeatu
34 Tackles 26.0 total 8.0 assisted

Will Demps
100 Tackles 74.0 total 26.0 assisted 1 sack 2 int 1 fumble forced 2 recovered

Chester Taylor
303 carries 1216 yds 6 TD 42 catches 288 yds

Now with those players and their contributions I believe the only free agent that would counter act any of those players would Trevor Pryce. So like I said I think we could possibly get up to 4 compensation picks.
