I honestly do not understand how your OL holds back Caleb Westgarth, Drew Wilhelm, and Ben Grant long enough to give Crail Johnson a cohesive pocket. It would be like the Houston Texans OL holding back Dwight Freeney, Albert Haynesworth, and a healthy Tommie Harris.


Iirc, your line did get some sacks and pressures and TFLs. But part of his game plan was to use quick passes to help neutralize that, and his athletes on offense made plays out of them.

OK, it seems like my internet is now un-********. I'm really sorry I haven't been around as much as I was, but I think as long as my internet cooperates, and it has today and yesterday, I can resume the write-ups.

I'm real pissed because I have had no porblems getting a connection or keeping one until the last week or so, but during that time I couldn't get on or stay on for more than 20 minutes or so, unless I was at work, which is off of a different IP.

I know...I'm very torn. If this drags beyond the end of August, my time for it will be non-existant being back at school.

I can try to keep it to one "week" per day for the next week and see where we stand.

I think we can do this with 14 games for this year. it's week 7, 7 more weeks to go, then the playoffs. And I've got like 2 weeks before my self imposed deadline.

Like I said, school is taking a great deal of my time. I have been asked to take on some school administrative duties in addition to my regular teaching schedule. In addition to that the course I am teaching is changing and I am unsure what that will equate to in regards to being able to get on-line while at school. We couldn't really have rookies play like rookies because the league never would have worked as a "user player" favoring league. The best QBs are all rookies, hell, I think all of the best players are techincally rookies.

So there won't be any rookie awards or anything like that for this season or possibly next season whenever that comes either because we just won't have enough non-rookie players...so all players are on an equal field regardless of playing experience if you follow.

Oh, I wasn't complaining about the number of catches at all. Don't take it that way but the way the write was, I thought I would have had more on the stat sheet instead of just the four that were said. It doesn't matter though if I did have more because they're nothing but filler. I like reading about my player's only plays.

Tough to tell without stats, but from what we have (up to week 8), I'd probably say Julio as the front-runner. Leading in reception yardage, and has as many receiving TDs as the #2 in Passing TDs. Seth Harris is probably up there because it is Hines abusing him since he is his player on his team. And with all those yards/TDs Crail has to be up there with the INTs working against him.

I'd say it should be the coaches only voting for MVP/DPOTY or guys can't vote for their own players or or anyone on the team their player is on/ or team that they coach.
Thats to prevent any homerism, IMO

Hey I thought up of a way to keep stats easily and fully but I will need some help with data entry for the first bunch of games.

On Google there is a way to keep a spreadsheet online and allows authorized personnel to edit it. But like I said I need a ton of help with data entry.

Unfortunately, it would mean a good number of players would have to be 'watered' down in some ways to ensure they would be in the minors and not in the NFL (well, except for Julio Stone- that cocky [bleep] might just come to life long enough to kill me for the insult).

Maybe a few actual team names might make the jump as well. Who knows?

Not that lazy. Even if I used every last one of the characters you all individually thought up, that would probably supply up to six or eight teams- and the league I'm brainstorming is in the range of 24-32. That means the very vast majority of players involved WILL come from my brain.

Secondly, a fair number of the players you all thought up have very delicious personalities and quirks which would make for fantastic storytelling. They wouldn't make up the entirety of the 'league', but in my view they are very nice flavors and I'm only being opportunistic in asking permission to use them.

Considerations for the next league:
*Maybe the game summaries shouldnt be as long and descriptive. It can be mentally draining for people to come up with creative game descriptions every week.
*"Real time" scoring
*Smaller League
*Shorter schedule, we can always buildup
*Maybe we should do college. that way people get new players every 3-4 years. The commish of the league could do like a pro career right up for the player after he graduates and we could make it a little competition for us to see who ends up having the best pro player. the college version would take away the draft and FA and trades, but we could make up a "recruit draft." Also player's could have to take an exam once every season to maintain eligibily. if they dont pass they can transfer, or if they dont like the school they can transfer. Plus coaches could hit the recruiting trail, and top prospects could go to the draft.
