Im not sure, I still need to talk to scotty about a way to go about the coahcign yet. BB had an idea about an attrivute system for coaches, which was very interesting. I'm just not sure how scotty feels about implementing it.

yes, I'm letting you all know for those who are applying to be coaches, you can create everything. When we hire the coaches, it will be a first come first serve basis on location, as we don't want a lopsided amount (say 8 east teams 4 west etc).

I'll PM a little later on CJ, I want to talk with eatw and BBfirst about something regarding coaches, but I will talk to you and respond to all the hopeful coaches shortly

Also, just a thought I had. It seems like the "character concerns weakness" is almost a cop out since not much has happened with it in the past. I think we should have some suspensions and stuff this year so that it actually makes it a weakness.

I agree with that, I added it to spice up my guy and make him the kind of player who will evolve. Of course it might be a simple evolution from immature, showboating party boy to a more well handled man. I figured it would be fun to have him kind of 'grow' up depending on his team or maybe even get worse if he's around others with issues. I do think there should be suspensions or discipline from coaches depending on how a player acts.

Its okay, thats just a projection, he'll probably run 4.9 at the combine. Just like how my player is projected at 4.3 and will probably run 4.5.
Its up to the commish to decide 40 times not us.

That's great that your committed to this as just a writer/assistant. That should help out a lot. I plan on just doing a coach, since I've always found it better if people just stick to one character.

assistants need to apply. if they prefer assistant, then make that known in the application.

Attention Prospective Coaches!

I wanted to make it known that I'm able and willing to help you design a logo for your prospective team! I see a few of you have already posted things like that in this thread, and that's fantastic.

Once your hired as a Head Coach and you get your team approved, you can ask me to draw up a logo, or submit one yourself, for official use in league matters. It will likely be posted at the top of game write ups, used in any depth charts or draft pick areas....stuff like that.

I just ask that we try to keep them all uniform. The ones following are all 252x252 pixel JPEG images and I think they work well for all uses.

I thought I'd post up the examples I have in stock from the previous league to give you ideas, so here they are:

HOUSTON, Tex - Houston-based energy giant, Halliburton, is now dipping their hand into football. They are investing money into the creation of a football team in the DCFL. Halliburton's CEO has personally appointed Tommy Brooklyn, one of the last coaches to still utilize the Wing T, to be the head coach of the team. Brooklyn is still awaiting approval from the league to be a head coach. When asked if he would still use the Wing T in the pros, Brooklyn replied, "Sure will, but this old dog has a few new tricks up his sleeve too."

The team's location has not yet been finalized. Halliburton created a website dedicated to keeping potential fans updated on the progress being made to make the team a reality and choose a location. A planning comittee was setup and they have announced the location will either be Houston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Mexico City, Washington DC, Phoenix or Los Angeles. There were some rumors that Dubai was a potential location.

The planning committee also announced that Halliburton has secured funds to create a $3 Billion stadium. That is twice the cost of the new Cowboys Stadium and one-sixth of Halliburton's average yearly revenue. Halliburton plans to accommodate more than 100,000 people in the stadium. Pepsi and Nissan have already been rumored to be co-sponsers of the venture.

Halliburton is putting alot on the table it seems. Their new schools plans seem to clash with Coach Tommy Brooklyn's old school attitude, but this might be the sort of Yin-Yang this future team needs.

We're leaning towards doing it though last I talked with them about it. Details will be released once the Head Coaches are named.

Even special teams coaches typically have an offensive or defensive preference.

Look at John Harbaugh in Baltimore for example. He was the Eagles STs coach prior to the Balitmore job, but he was also their DBs coach, so he'd still be defense in this case.

If you want to make a guy who you don't have to really do much with, make an interior offensive lineman. Every league seems to need those because they're not flashy or as fun.....but it wouldn't be much work because you don't hear about them much.
