I'm calling this a "real" College football draft because we will actually keep track of winners and losers for the season. This is not just a "draft 'em and vote on the winners" league. Here are the rules that I've worked out so far. If you want to get in on this and have a suggestion, feel free to throw it out there.
-10 people max. Simple reason is any more and I'll probably have trouble updating.
-Positions will be:
Offense
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
3 positions of your choice (no OL obviously)
Defense
2 DE
2 DT
2 LB
2 Secondary
2 positions of your choice
-All players will be from Division I-Fairly easy.
-Scoring Categories will be:
Offense
Passing Yards
Passing TD's
Rushing Yards
Rushing TD's
Receiving Yards
Receiving TD's
Defense
Tackles
Tackles for Loss
Sacks
Interceptions
Pass Breakups
Forced Fumbles
Fumble Recoveries
-We will be using a rotisserie scoring system-I'd do head to head, but honestly that's just too complicated at this point. If this one goes well, maybe I'll consider it for next season. If you don't know what I mean by rotisserie, feel free to ask.
-Draft will be snake style-I'll randomly generate the order, making sure I don't get the first or last pick. The draft will also be very casual, as we're basically able to wait until the first game of the season to start scoring.
-Season will end after 12 games[b]-Reason being, I want people to pick the best players and not worry about who's going to get extra games because of bowls and conference championships.
[b]-I'll be updating weekly-I'll post the leaders in each category here, but I'll also make an additional site with a full table to show where everyone's at.
And that's about it. If I've forgotten anything, go ahead and ask. I've tried to make it pretty wide open. I think that any strategy could work (draft 4 QB's and try and get max points in passing yards/TD's, 4 RB's, a balanced approach, etc.) So if anyone's interested, post here.
