I, Brian Rice, am very proud to announce the DCFL enquirer. This is our news magazine where official news will be posted by myself and league paparazzi man
Pappa Razzi. Mr. Razzi will be conducting interviews, posting "inside source" news, and will sometimes break word of trades before hand. He is mainly the go-to interview guy. If a player or coach would like to conduct said interview, he is readily available at IRC and via PM on draftcountdown.com as A Perfect Score.
I implore you to use Mr. Razzi as a valuable tool and go, give interviews! Give this league life!

Name: Normand Jackson (CJSchneider)
Position: MLB
College: USC
Team: TBA
Razzi: Hi Norman, thanks for taking a little time to sit down with me and talk to me. You are the first official interview in DCFL Inquirer History! How does it feel?
Jackson: I feel honoured to be the first person interviewed by the DCFL Inquirer. I hope it isn't the only first great thing that happens during my career.
Razzi: I'll be shocked if it is. Tell us a little bit about yourself outside football Normand. We have all read your profile, and I think it speaks for itself. That said, who is Normand Jackson off the gridiron?
Jackson:[chuckles] He's calm, quiet, laid back. I like to read and if you were to catch me at my parent's home, you'd find me with a book - no doubt. Either that or playing golf.
Razzi: Name us your top 3 books off the top of your head, right now.
Jackson: When Pride Still Mattered - David Maraniss, Killer Angels - Michael Shaara, The Bible.
Razzi: So you are a religious man?
Jackson: Yes, I've been lucky enough to have a strong Christian upbringing.
Razzi: Would you say that your parents were a major influence in your football career?
Jackson: Maybe on being athletic period, umm- my dad played some minor league baseball and I can say he has been a great supporter of my playing football at USC. They certainly never turned me away from it. They were always supportive of the decisions I made. They did make sure that once I made a decision to do something, I carried it out and did my best.
Razzi: What are you most looking forward to about playing in the DCFL?
Jackson: I'd have to say continuing to do something I love for a living. I've been blessed enough to be in this position of playing for this league and I hope to take advantage of that and see where it takes me.
Razzi: I only wish I had your gift. But what did I get? A genetic beer belly and a gift for pissing people off! Anyways, is there anywhere in particular you would want to play in the pros?
Jackson: Umm, I'd love to be able to stay out here on the West Coast.
Razzi: I understand that. No place like home. Is there a specific defence you feel best suited for?
Jackson: I like playing in a 4-3. I understand my responsibilities as a MLB in that system real well. I can play ILB in a 3-4 also, but I'm more comfortable in a 4-3.
Razzi: What would you say is your greatest strength as a LB? Weakness?
Jackson: As far as strengths go - being able to read a run play and make a big hit at the line of scrimmage; making sure we [the defence] are only out there as much as we need to be. As far as weaknesses go, I'd have to say pass coverage. Some of those guys you have to cover can be pretty fast, but Coach Norton and I are doing some extra work in that area before the combine and pro day so that when I have to show what I can do and what I know I seem more comfortable with it.
Razzi: Do you have any expectations concerning the draft? Maybe about where you will go, or who has shown interest so far?
Jackson: I just don't want to be setting in the Green Room all by myself at any point. Umm I've had a few scouts set up appointments at pro day and ask about private workouts, So I'm pretty sure excited about that. I'm doing a few workouts at a private LA gym before the combine so I dont walk in all out of shape - you have to stay working during this period.
Razzi: Absolutely. Thanks for taking time out of your day to talk to me Normand. One last question, and I hate to ask it, cause it's a journalist cliché, but I have to ask...What are you going to buy with your very first DCFL pay check?
Jackson: (chuckles) Probably going to buy something for my parents - send them on a cruise or something. That or some new golf clubs.
Razzi: Alright. Thanks a lot Normand, and best of luck to you in the future. Thanks for setting the Inquirer off on a great note!
Jackson: No problem. It was a pleasure.

The DCFL Inquirer has just received word that Kendrick "Bolt" Williams, the stud WR from L.S.U, will refuse to write the Wonderlic test at the upcoming combine. To quote "Bolt Williams hasn't taken a test since the 8th grade." However, recent interviews with DCFL Commissioner Brian Rice suggest Williams may be forced to write the test, or be declared inelligible for the draft. More information to follow.

Name: Demond Decker
Position: SS
College: Northwestern
Team: TBA
Razzi: Hi Demond. Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to talk to us here at the Inquirer. How are feeling so close to the combine?
Decker: I'm feeling pretty good. My ankle has healed up pretty well and I think I should be good to go for the combine. I've actually already had a couple of teams contact me.
Razzi: Really? Care to share a few names?
Decker: I don't think I'm allowed to share that information, but I will say that one team has shown interest in me running the RB drills.
Razzi: Wow that's an interesting tidbit of info I'm sure our readers will be interested in. Let me ask you Demond, is there anywhere specific you would like to play in the pros?
Decker: I'd love to play at safety. There's no better feeling in the world than making a big hit, and knowing that you've put the fear into your opponent. You can see it on their faces, and when they're running routes. I love making a receiver get alligator arms or watching a RB get up slowly after I hit him, it lets me know I've done my job.
Razzi: So would you say you are a physical player? Where did that attitude begin, if you could pinpoint it in your life.
Decker: Yes, I'm definitely a physical player, I really enjoy laying my opponent out. I'd say I started playing physically for my varsity team in high school. When I first started playing for them, the coaches would only put me in for trick plays, so I went to them and asked how I could get on the field more. They told me they wanted me to be more physical. So I started working on it in practice. I'd use the drills where I hit my opponent to hit them as hard as I could. Once I actually knocked a teammate and good friend out. Once I started embracing the physicality of the game, I really couldn't get enough of it.
Razzi: Good to hear. The world can always use more hard hitting safeties. Is there anything you are especially looking forward to once you get drafted?
Decker: I'm looking forward to getting into camp and getting to work. I'd like to earn a starting spot on the team that drafts me, but I know they don't just hand those out, especially in the pros, so I'm really looking forward to immersing myself in my new playbook and working toward a starting job.
Razzi: Tell us a little bit about Demond Decker off the field. What do you do in your spare time?
Decker: I really enjoy reading believe it or not. Of course soon I'll be buried in my playbook, but when I have some free time, you'll probably find me reading something, maybe a scientific periodical, maybe a book on nutrition and fitness, I've gotten into that a lot since the ankle injury, but usually you'll find me reading some form of fiction.
Razzi: Let's talk about senior year. Do you feel it was important for you to stay and finish your degree, even when many felt it was a better decision for you to declare as a junior?
Decker: Yes, definitely. In fact, a big part of the reason I stayed for my senior season was to complete my degree. My parents taught me from a very early age the importance of education, and I wanted to be able to say that I came away from my collegiate experience with something to show for it. Some people think I cost myself, but I think my degree will help me make up for any signing bonus I lose on my first contract. Besides, if I play well, I'll make it up anyway.
Razzi: Understandable. Is there any specific scheme or defence you feel best suited for at the professional level?
Decker: I think I could do well in any scheme, but I think I'm at my best when I can play near the line of scrimmage. It allows me to help against the run, and I can usually read and react to the QB better when I'm close to the line. I'd say my best position is as an in-the-box enforcer type, like a John Lynch or a Bob Sanders, but I think I could thrive anywhere as long as they don't ask me to play centerfield.
Razzi: Do you have any expectations when it comes to the draft? Any specific round that is your goal?
Decker: I just want to be drafted honestly. I've heard predictions as early as Round 1, but as long as I get the opportunity to play and compete for a starting role, I'll be happy.
Razzi: Alright, Demond, thanks for taking a little time out of your day to speak with us here at the Inquirer. We wish you all the best in the future. One last question, and I hate to ask, but I have to know...What do you plan on buying with your first DCFL pay check?
Decker: Ha, well, if my signing bonus is big enough, I'd like to buy my parents a home. They deserve it after all they've done for me. I'm glad to give an interview, I think it's good to connect with the fans, whenever you'd like another, just let me know.
Razzi: Alright, thanks again Demond.
Decker: Any time

Name: K.K Slider
Position: MLB
College: Cincinnati
Team: TBA
Razzi: Hey, K.K. Thanks for taking some time out of your hectic schedule to take to me over here at the Inquirer. How are you dealing with all this pressure that comes along with being a top prospect?
Slider: I've been handling it pretty well, I think. I'm really just trying to keep my mind off of the draft, you know? I've been working out, training, doing some sketches, my usual deal. Helps me stay focused and not panic.
Razzi: Sketches? Elaborate.
Slider: Well, it's kind of a weird story, but the whole reason I got so into football was my artistic prowess as a child. I used to love drawing sports, football especially, and I studied athletes in motion in order to improve at drawing. When I got to high school, I decided to try my hand at playing a game for once, and it turned out that all that studying of players in motion had really opened my eyes to the game. I could read offenses really well, and my coaches took note of that. It's become my major strength in the game, and it's really why I'm here today. I still try to keep up with drawing, it's something I still love to do.
Razzi: That is one of the more interesting stories we have heard here at the Inquirer. So besides drawing, what do you like to do in your spare time? Tell us a little about yourself when you aren't beating up on RBs.
Slider: Haha, well. Really a lot of my time is spent studying up on my next opponent, I feel like the more I know about them, the better I'll do against them. I like to play to my strengths, you know? I also do a lot of strength and conditioning training, and aside from that, I occasionally bum around on the internet and keep tabs on most professional sports.I particularly like watching the NFL and I have an affinity for NASCAR as well.
Razzi: Speaking of strengths, what would you say is your greatest one on the field? And do you have a favourite player or someone you feel your game compares well to?
Slider: My greatest strength, I'd like to say, is my game smarts and ability to read defences. It's really what's gotten me to where I am today. I also like to think I'm fairly quick, plus I think my fellow defenders can rally around me as a leader, which is a great feeling to have. As for NFL players, I like Barrett Ruud of the Tampa Bay Bucs. He's under the radar but he is the leader of that team and can make plays happen. I think he's one of the best defenders in the NFL today.
Razzi: He definitely is. Is there anywhere specific you would like to play in the pros, any hometown team you always wanted to win a championship for?
Slider: Well, I'd love to play in what I consider my home city of New York, or in my home state of New Jersey, but really, just having the opportunity to play professional football is enough for me. I'll go wherever I'm drafted, and make sure to lead that team to the championships.
Razzi: Haha I admire your confidence. Tell us a little bit about your time at Cincinnati. What did you major in? Were there any scandals or locker room feuds you would like to make known to the world?
Slider: My years at Cincinnati were great. I majored in Fine Arts, which allowed me to spend some time working with real artists in the Co-op program, plus being able to play under Coach Kelly greatly improved my game. As far as feuds go, though, I was more in the business of keeping my team together rather than breaking it apart. As far as the art thing goes, though, it's nice to know I have a fallback plan if football doesn't work out for me. Quality education has really helped me in that aspect.
Razzi: Understandable. Quick, name us 3 songs you listen to before a game to get yourself pumped up.
Slider: Against Me!- Thrash Unreal, Flogging Molly- Drunken Lullabies, Rise Against- Re-Education Through Labour...There's so many, though, it's hard to narrow it down.
Razzi: Fill us in a little bit on the pre-draft process. Has there been a lot of interest from teams?
Slider: I've been getting phone calls from all over, which is nice to know. Makes me feel like I won't go undrafted, at least. Interestingly enough, I've even had some teams contact me to help design a logo and uniform for their upstart teams! Kind of a strange role for a draftee, but hey, I'll take it.
Razzi: Do you have any goals/expectations concerning the draft? Maybe a specific round you are aiming for?
Slider: If I'm on a football team by the end of the day, that'll be enough for me.
Razzi: That's the right attitude. Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to chat with us over here at your friendly neighbourhood DCFL Inquirer. Ill end this interview like I end all of them, with that horrible cliché...What are you going to buy with your first DCFL pay check?
Slider: I'm taking my whole family out to dinner. They're the ones who've supported me all this time, it's time for me to start paying them back. I'm thinkin' Italian.
Razzi: Haha alright, thanks K.K, it's been a pleasure.
Slider: No problem.

Name: Domenik "Donkey Kong" Coleman
Position: DE
College: Ohio
Team: TBA
Razzi: Hi Domenik. Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to talk to us here at the Inquirer. How are you feeling?
Coleman: I'm feeling good. I'm ready to come out and dominate the combine. I want to show these guys what's up.
Razzi: Good to hear. Where and who have you been training with to prepare yourself for something this monumental?
Coleman: I've been training at the Athlete's Performance Institute in Tempe, Arizona. They have guys for each and every event, and I feel like it's really helped me prepare for this.
Razzi: So would you say you are confident that you are going to impress some people at the combine?
Coleman: Oh yeah. Donkey Kong is a freak. No one can compete with this. I dominate at everything I do.
Razzi: Give us a little preview. Accurate H/W/40?
Coleman: 6'7" 295 4.4 flat. At worst.
Razzi: Whoa. I can honestly say I have seen a lot in this business, but if I see that, I'll find you after to shake your hand personally. Those are some pretty lofty numbers.
Coleman: No one's ever seen someone like me. I'm like Deon Sanders in Mario Williams' body, but I'm better than both of them.
Razzi: Haha. We have heard some rumblings hear at the Inquirer that you have been labelled "uncoachable" by some. Is this true?
Coleman: Man, no one can coach me. I know things that coaches can only dream of knowing. Coaches just get in my way, and slow me down. I don't need coaches, but they need me.
Razzi: Do you feel that this sort of label might make you slide a bit on draft day, or even have some teams take you off their board altogether?
Coleman: Anyone who takes me off their board is dumber than Vince Young. I play hard, I know the game, I'm a physical freak. There's nothing else to it, baby.
Razzi: You heard it here first people. Nothing else to it. Tell us a little about Domenik Coleman when he isn't boasting or beasting. Who are you off the field?
Coleman: I like to chillax with my homeboys, play PS3, shoot some zombies up, but when I'm not doing that I like to read. Charles Dickens and Shakespeare are some of my favourites, but I enjoy poetry a lot. Robert Frost knew what was up.
Razzi: Interesting. So, let's talk shop. Where do you want to end up on draft day? I'm talking what team, what round, what pick even. Where do you predict you end up after it's all said and done?
Coleman: I wanna go to whoever has the number one pick, baby! They'd be crazy to pass me up, and that's where I'm gonna be. NO one's stupid enough not to take Donkey Kong.
Razzi: High hopes for Donkey Kong. Is there anyone in the pros who's game you admire/compare to?
Coleman: I don't admire anyone, they all admire me. But I consider Mario Williams to be a lesser version of myself.
Razzi: Tell us about your college experience. We know you had some locker room troubles at Ohio. Care to shed some light on that experience?
Coleman: Man, some people just don't realize who, and what, I am. They don't realize what they're dealing with. I'm the best there is, the best there ever was, and the best there ever will be. Some people just don't appreciate that, and then a few "issues" develop. But, man, I never did anything wrong.
Razzi: Would you say your coaches at Ohio played a big part in your development as a player?
Coleman: Nah man, they didn't do ****. I taught myself everything I know. Them fools should be glad I listened to them at all. Ohio State was a little better before I was unfairly removed from the team.
Razzi: Tell us about that experience. The coaches at OSU have stated many times that it unavoidable. What's your side of the story?
Coleman: See man, I never did anything wrong. Here's what went down: This wanna be gangsta comes up to me lookin for weed, I'm like, 'dawg I don't do that ****. And he was like "man I know your packing." Then he pulls a gun on me. I rip it from his hand, and point it at him, and he yells that I'm trying to rob him. He knew I didn't have any weed, and then he gets me kicked off team.
Razzi: Sounds like a vendetta. Alright Domenik, thanks for taking a little time to talk to us today, and best of luck in the future. Last question: that first DCFL pay check. What are you going to turn it into?
Coleman: Man, I'm getting some phat cars. I'm thinking a Bentley and a Ferrari, if not more. Probably a yacht and a mansion too, but first I need my rides.
Razzi: Alright, thanks for your time.
Coleman: Yeah, man. Keep it real.

Name: Julio Stone
Position: WR
College: Florida State
Team: TBA
Razzi: Hey Julio, thanks for taking some time to talk to us here at the Inquirer. How are you dealing with the pressure of being a highly regarded prospect in a very top heavy draft?
Stone: Fair question. I could see where some people might be a little shaken at a time like this. I'm Julio Stone though. I'm not worried. God has given me these incredible gifts, and all the teams recognize it. Wherever I end up, I end up. I know for certain I'm going high in the draft, and whoever passes on me is going to come back in a few years and say, "Damn, we ****** that up."
Razzi: Is there anywhere specific you would like to play? And is there a specific scheme which you feel puts your skills to best use?
Stone: I'm too pretty to keep in the shadows. My name is going to ring out wherever, but I want the limelight along with it. So your LA's, Vegas, NY, Miami, and so forth all fit the bill. Any scheme that puts the ball in my hands as often as possible is going to work. Simple as that.
Razzi: You have been labelled a prima donna in that past, by both coaches and teammates. Care to weigh in on your reputation as a me first player?
Stone: I'm going to have to guess that some of those comments are out of pure jealousy first off. But really, label me whatever you like. With the label, you are going to have to add in "the greatest, star WR, champion" all of them. I want to win, and be the best. Everyone knows that. I've got a tremendous deal of self confidence, but I feel that is what helps propel my game to the next level. And when I'm playing up to my abilities, teams win.
Razzi: Would you say your coaches at Florida State were a big part in your development as a player?
Stone: To a degree. They were great, and I really enjoyed my time there. I think I made the right choice with FSU, and my game has gotten all around sharper there. However, I still maintain, I've been ready for the big show straight out of High School.
Razzi: We have heard some rumblings here at the Inquirer that alot of teams are worried about your coachability, and this has even led one team to take you right off their draft board, calling you "The next Terrell Owens." How do you feel about that?
Stone: I'm not the next Terrell Owens. Couple reasons behind that. One, I'm just straight better than he is. Second, how many teams has he played for? Whatever team drafts me, I can assure you they will be doing everything to keep me when they see the production, and the revenue I'll be generating. If teams want to take me off their draft board, go for it. Let someone else get the best player there is, your loss not mine.
Razzi: Fair enough. What would you say is your greatest strength as a football player? Greatest weakness?
Stone: Greatest strength is just making things happen, simple as that. You put the ball in my area, I'm going to get it, and then go right for the end zone. My greatest weakness is blocking. I mean, I'm not a offensive lineman right? I don't get my millions for that.
Razzi: Any expectations for draft day? Top 20? 10? 5?
Stone: That's really not in my hands. My performance and talent dictates that I should go number 1. Anything other than that just wouldn't feel right for someone of my calibre, you know? But like I said, it's not in my hands. Maybe one of the top picking teams over thinks the whole ego thing, and someone else ends up with the steal of the draft.
Razzi: Don't want to rule anything out this early in the process. Tell us a little about Julio Stone when he isn't talking trash or burning DBs. Who are you off the field?
Stone: I'm a big sports fan, that's for sure. I'll catch some basketball in the winter time, and I'm all over baseball in the summer when there is just camps and such. I place very high value on my family and my religion. I make people laugh and I keep things loose.
Razzi: Good to hear. The Inquirer has been following the growing feud between you and Ohio DE Domenik "Donkey Kong" Coleman. What do you have to say on the subject?
Stone: I think I've already said my share on that. I'm really not even quite sure who he is at this moment in time. All I know is that he has a corny nickname, and he thinks he can run a better 40 than me. I suppose he's good for a laugh, but that boy needs to settle down.
Razzi: He can be a bit eager. Alright Julio, thanks a lot for your time today. Wish you all the best in the future. Last question, as always. What will that first pay check turn in to?
Stone: Hey man, any time. Always happy to sit down and let the people hear what I've got to say. First pay check is going to be 2 houses. One for me and one for my mother in whatever city I'm playing for. She loves to watch my games, and has always been a major influence in my life. I'd be happy to get her set up along with myself.
Razzi: Thanks alot Julio.

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Here they are folks! The Inquirer has gotten ahold of the very first combine results! Below are some quotations we received from an insider source about how this years combine went! Stay subscribed for further info!
"A certain loudmouthed speedster didn't live up to the hype. Bolt Williams ran in the 4.3's and actually wasn't even the fastest WR."
"Ray Tyson seems to have not prepared too well for the Combine reportedly needing to wear a manzierre. He showed up 15 lbs overweight."
"Todd Smithsonian apparently isn't all brains afterall after leading all offensive linemen in the bench press."
"Donkey Kong Coleman seemed to live up to the name Donkey after running a disappointing 40 time and failing to live up to the hype."

Date: 7/12/09
Name: Ben Grant
Position: DT
College: Penn State
Team: TBA
Mack: Hey Ben, thanks for taking the time to talk to me at the Inquirer. How do you feel about your combine?
Grant: I feel I could have done better. I was shooting for at least below 4.95 in the 40, and I feel I could've done better on the 40 reps as well. I wish I would've gone after Vissa. Seing him put up what he did would've gotten my competitive juices flowing just a little bit more, and I think I could have at least tied his 43 mark. I wish I could have shown better explosion at the combine, but my game tape shows that and teams have plenty of that to look at. Overall I'd say it was solid, but like everything in my life, I thrive to improve upon it.
Mack: How do you feel you compare to your fellow defensive linemen?
Grant: I feel that this is a very deep class of D-Linemen, with a lot of them being very underrated, especially my fellow DTs. Vissa is going to make some 3-4 team very happy at nose. He is a massive human being. I don't think people like Strahan would be as intimidated by him if it weren't for the language barrier. He seems liek a nice guy from the time I had spent with him. Chance Arceneuax is a very underrated prospect as well. He will make a 4-3 team very happy with the UT position. He will make a massive impact as a pass rusher. Donkey Kong, wherever he plays is a great talent, and if he ends up as a 4-3 UT, he will have a massive impact as well. Drake McDonald is great pass rusher, and will make a huge impact in that part of his game. Jamaal Umenyiora is a great pass rusher as well, and is always a threat. But what I believe separates me from them is my all around game combined my character. I can do it all at the position and have the motor to always do what is needed. There are no issues off the field and I can make a huge impact from my position. I feel like I bring the perfect combination of talent, heart and, character that will make me highly coveted come draft time.
Mack: What role do you think you would be best in?
Grant: With my skill set and motor, I can play almost any DL position in any front, but my best fit for sure is in the 4-3. As a nose, I will make plays in the passing game, whether it be getting pressure or a sack, or a batted ball. But I have the strength, especially in my lower body, to hold the Point of Attack and take on double teams in the run game. As an Under Tackle, my pass rush skills will be fully recognized, while still making tons of plays in the run game. I will still see double teams in either of these positions, but I can handle them. As for the 3-4, I would need to gain some weight to be a nose, and even then I may struggle against the biggest and strongest of double teams. My effectiveness as a pass rusher would also be severely limited. At DE, I've been told I am a little short and my arms could be longer. But the same problems arise here at 3-4 DE as at nose. I can handle the double team, yes, but my impact as a pass rusher will be limited.
Mack: How high do you expect your name to come off the board?
Grant: I have no expectations for that right now, because it is simply not up to me. I've been told I may go top 5, that is great, I'd love it, but I can't make teams draft me. I can only do what is in my power to make teams feel comfortable having me as a member of their organization. I will be happy wherever and whenever I'm drafted.
Mack: What teams have you been in contact with?
Grant: I have been in contact with multiple teams, and though they haven't asked me not to divulge their interest, I will respect their wishes of keeping their boards secret. Sorry I can't answer that, I just don't think it is up to me to tell what team’s plans are.
Mack: Ok, since you can’t tell us which teams, how about a number?
Grant: I have been in contact with 5 or 6 teams, in one way or another.
Mack: Where would you like to play?
Grant: Anywhere that wants me. I love the game of football with so much passion that I'd play in Antarctica if it meant I could continue my dream. I few of the locations I like are Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Honolulu. Pittsburgh has that blue collar attitude that fits me to a T, and lets be honest, playing professional football in Hawaii is something we can only dream about.
Mack: What do you miss most about both the college game, and Penn State?
Grant: I miss playing with so many young men that are playing for the simple love of the game. In college, there are so many guys playing simply because they love the game of football. Once you reach the pro ranks, you find there are guys that don't have that passion, and are in it for the money. I feel that is wrong, and if you don't love the game that has given so much to you, you don't deserve to have the talents necessary to play in it. I'm sure you've heard it from a lot of former PSU players, but what I will miss most about the program is JoePa. That man is like a second father to over 75 young men every year. Even at his age, he loves the game more than ever before, more than even some of the players. I just know I will be like that when I reach his age.
Mack: You obviously loved your time at Penn State. How much are you keeping contact with your teammates and coaches?
Grant: Pretty much, actually. It has been difficult to keep up as much as I want to, being busy preparing for the combine and the first DCFL season, but I do my best. The coaches there helped shape me in to what I am today, and I am forever grateful for that. They are great souls who will forever be in my heart. Luckily, I have been able to keep in contact with fellow players Drake McDonald and Seth Harris during the process, and that truly is special to have two people going through the process with you. I keep in touch with a good deal of people from my college days, as with many other aspects of my life. Once you have come close to me, that bond will never be broken. I think that is one of the things that have helped me become such a good friend and teammate to my fellow players.
Mack: I’m sure this is still hard to talk about, but tell me about how your brother Steven’s death affected you.
Grant: It was a very rough time for me, probably the roughest so far in my life. It seemed he was taken away so quickly. It seemed, we just learned he was sick, and then he was gone. I'm grateful that he knows our family loves him, and I am also grateful for what he has taught me in life, and in death. He is one of the many reasons I have such a hard work ethic. When we were together, he was always pushing me, him being a year older he made me keep up. But when he was gone, I decided I was going to work hard enough for the two of us. The reason I do so is because he and I made a pact that we would attend Penn State together, so now, since I keep his hard work with me, it is like he is still there with me in person, even if it really is just in my heart. The last thing I do before I go out on the field is talk to my brother and tell him how much I wish he were here so we could share the moment. He is another part of what has made me both as a person and a player, and as long as I play the game, and live my life, it will be dedicated to my brother Steve.
Mack: One final question. What will be the first thing you buy with that big contract?
Grant: places. Some will go to my causes, as well as some going towards buying a home near my team's stadium. And I will also be giving some back to Penn State. The rest will be saved. My wife is an accountant and really keeps a tight leash on the money situation (laughs). But it is in the best interests for our son and any children that may be in our future.
Mack: Thanks for your time and best of luck to you.
Grant: Thank you very much, and best wishes to you and your family.

Name: Drake McDonald
Position: DE
College: Penn State
Team: TBA
Mack: Thanks for taking the time do this with me today. Now the DCFL Scouting Combine recently took place. How do you feel about your combine results?
McDonald: I feel good but at the same time a little let down. I thought I could run faster then a 4.78 but It's not too bad of a time. All the 40 yard dash does is showcase our straight-line speed. My best speed comes from my turning the corner and ability to accelerate so I don't feel that 40 time represents me well. As for the bench, I'm working on getting stronger.
Mack: Many analysts have you as the top defensive end? Do you agree with this?
McDonald: I do. My agent told me not to run around running my mouth but you know what? I am the best DE in this class. I may not be the best in run support but as far as all the DE's go, I'm the top. Not to say those behind me are bad or not good, they are very talented. They also may have better College stats but that we're all starting fresh come draft day.
Mack: I admire your confidence. Fellow defensive ends Domenik Coleman and Jamaal Umenyiora might disagree with this. What do you think of them?
McDonald: Domenik is a great talent. He's versatile and has great size. He's also got great production. Yet I don't think he'll be as productive as me in the DCFL because I think i'm a better pass rusher plan and simple. Jamaal is another great player. Just a game changer who gets the job done. But again, he's not gonna compare to me. Put it like this. Jamaal and Coleman are gonna be perennial Pro Bowlers. I'm going to the Hall Of Fame. That said I'd LOVE to play with either because we'd make the best pass rushing duo in the league.
Mack: You played with Ben Grant at Penn State. Tell me what that was like.
McDonald: I played with Ben my Freshman year and while it was not my best year for stats, I really matured as a player thanks to him. He drew constant double teams and looking back, if I could redo that year I would have doubled my sack total knowing what I know now. You have to account for him every single play or he's gonna make you pay. Great guy too.
Mack: How do you feel about the criticism regarding both your on and off field behavior?
McDonald: I think people are just nitpicking. People are going to hate and attack you for the smallest things if you're talented. It's all in good fun and moderation. I don't party every night. I don't trash talk every day. I don't do dangerous and stupid things like get wasted and do drugs. I just enjoy a good time. As for my on the field behavior, it's the same.
Mack: What city would you like to play in?
McDonald: To be one hundred percent honest I'd love to play in Las Vegas or New Orleans. Indy is pretty attractive too, as is Chicago. Wyoming seems...kinda desolate. Never been there so maybe I'm wrong. Pittsburgh I think would be a great place since I've played in PA all my life so far. Honolulu is far, but that would be fun. Memphis and Sacramento are great too. Omaha would be fun too, I think it would be fun to try a different lifestyle.
Mack: So you'd like to play in 9 out of 10 cities? (laughs) You are being described purely as a 4-3 rush end. Do you think you could play in a 3-4?
McDonald: Good question. I don't know until I'm given the shot. I feel like i'd be out of position and you'll get more production out of me in a 4-3. My best asset to my pass rush is my burst. If it means getting easier matchups or someone feels I'd make a good OLB then I'm all for it. I am a team player at the end of the day and I know it's a team sport.
Mack: At Penn State you played for legendary coach, Joe Paterno. How did he and his staff help you as a player?
McDonald: I have the utmost respect for Joe Paterno and the staff at Penn State but I felt they and I were on a different page sometimes. I'm not Mr. Perfect. I can't promise to be a model student and leader. I made some dumb mistakes in college. I got drunk, got into fights, barely made my grades and the like. They did what they felt was best. I'm just thankful for the chance to play under such a icon. I only wish we had a better relationship and wish that I had applied myself and taken better care of my image.
Mack: How high do you see yourself going in the draft?
McDonald: #1 Overall. That's the ideal situation. I know QB's and LT's have more pull but you need a impact pass rusher. With the guys we got behind center and at Wide Receiver, you need someone who can win in the trenches and get pressure on those QBs and stop them from making a perfect pass. If not #1 then at LEAST somewhere in the Top 5. I just hope teems see the potential I have and look past my mistakes.
Mack: For our final question I will keep the inquirer tradition going. What will be the first thing you buy when you get that big contract?
McDonald: A nice, big house is first on the list. Somewhere close to the city i'm playing in so I can stay in touch with my fan base and get to practice on time. That's the first thing. It's a long list but that's the most important thing.
Mack: Thanks for your time and best of luck to you.
McDonald: Thanks to you also. DCFL Draft here we come! But first I think I'll see if I can get that Punters number!

BREAKING NEWS!!!
Some info has been slipped to us here at the Inquirer regarding the upcoming DCFL draft. Quotes-
Indy - Brought in each of the draft's top 3 LT prospects for a look.
Also brought in some of the top pass rushers for evaluations.
Omaha - Took at look at some DBs including Troy Ryder and Kase-Owens. Came away impressed with Kase-Owens this time after his poor combine turned some teams off.
Wyoming - Scouted the top TEs hard, and it looks like a dead heat between Stevens and Wright.
Brought in more conservative QBs Plainview and Saint for a look.
Honolulu - Flew in a whole lot of DL prospects and were evaulating their fits in both the 4-3 and 3-4 schemes.
Memphis - Going for a unique look on defense it seems, scouting both 3-4 and 4-3 style players.

FILLING OUT YOUR ROSTER
Now that the draft is done, we can begin the next step in the process of creating the teams, having the coaches fill in the remainder of their rosters with the average to below average players of the team.
In the case of most of the teams, you should already have 12 players from the draft (11 for Hon, 13 for Chi, more on this later) so the rest of these guys will be your scrubby starters and bench warmers.
Step 1 - Submit 1 84 overall player request to me.
Miss out on drafting that one last position you needed to fill? Just want to add another fairly quality player to your roster? This is where to do it. Each team will be allowed to send a request to me for the addition of an 84 overall player of their choosing. This player will be an older veteran, around 32-35 years of age in the twilight of his career. This player CANNOT be a QB, and only one player per position will be handed out. I will announce what teams got what players. It's sort of a first come first serve, so request the position you want early and the type of player he is to have the best shot at getting your guy. PM the position and general player type and I will let you know the result.
Step 2 - Teams who didn't draft a QB
Some argue that QB is the most important position in sports, and it's hard to disagree. Below you will find a list of overalls and the amount of players you can have at that overall. No QB may have an overall higher than 77, and your QB is to be based off a real life, currently in the NFL, average-at-best QB. Your player will play like his real life counterpart for ease of writing in the games. Examples could include "Lyle Morton" or "Shane Mill." This only goes for the teams who need a self-made QB for their starter. Your backup QB will just need to follow the same rules as the other players.
Step 3 - Fill out the rest of the positions.
Using the below restrictions, fill in the rest of your roster. Please keep the players simple. You need only include name, college, age, height, weight, 40 time. **All the needed info for this player will come from these!** Remember, these are the leagues average-at-best type of players, so no "physical freaks who just haven't hit their potential yet" or any BS like that. Totally average players here. If your backup RB goes into the game that I'm writing, and I see that he's 6'0 240 with a 4.55 40, I will assume he is a big power back. There are no age restrictions for the players with overalls 68-77, but remember, these guys are your depth. If they are all really young, your depth will be inexperienced and play as such. If they are all old, your depth will be less athletic and will play as such. A variety of ages in these players is likely best.
Restrictions:
Overall - # of players - Applicable restrictions
84 - 1 - Age 32-35, No QB, Submitted to me
80 - 2 - Age 30+, No QB
77 - 3
75 - 4
74 - 2
73 - 3
72 - 4
70 - 4
68 - 3
65 - 2 - "undrafted rookies," Age <23
For Honolulu who had 1 few draft pick, they will create 1 additional 65 overall player. Chicago, who had an extra draft pick, will create 1 fewer 65 overall.

Week 1 in Review
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/atommy2.jpg
Hey folks, Tommy Lucky here with out first recap of the year in 10-pack fashion. I'll be here to give you some brief thoughts on each team's performance from the past week with some of what the did well, and areas that they need to improve upon.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/SacramentoAttack.gif
1.) Sacramento Attack 1-0
Positives: Well, coming away with the victory was surely a positive for Coach Sampson and his team. The defense performed well, forced three Crail Johnson turnovers and generally confounded that high octane offense in Omaha all day long, holding them to just 14 points. MLB Darius Bain made a great impact in his first DCFL game making a slew of tackles in addition to a key interception. S Kyle Carpenter scored the leagues first defensive touchdown as well on a big time interception return.
Areas to Improve: Though they came away with the "W" and many will tell you that is what truly counts, they did get quite lucky in a few areas today. Their offense was fairly hum-drum with only WR TJ Sunstein making a few big plays. QB Scott Wright looked a little shaky, but some of that can be attributed to Omaha getting consistent pressure. His one interception can also be attributed to a drop by the receiver, so I don't worry about that too much. Against some of the other defenses in the league, I expect Wright to prove worthy of the #2 overall selection. Sacramento's special teams unit also had just a hell of a day. Leopold Carmichael made big plays in the return game, including one punt return he took back to the house for a score. Sacramento's own return game struggled a bit with fumbles and poor blocking. Some of this will be potentially rectified as Coach Sampson has announced that star defenders Bunj Torres and Darius Bain will see some action on special teams, I just hope they don't get hurt.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/OmahaKangaroos.gif
2.) Omaha Kangaroos 0-1
Positives: Omaha's defense and special teams were really their positives on this day. Considering many believed that this team had the top offense in the league going into the week, this is quite a surprising fact indeed. Omaha held Sacramento's offense entirely to field goals (Sac's only TD came on an INT return.) Omaha's special team's unit was also a major success, with Leopold Carmichael constistantly getting great returns, including one punt return for a TD.
Areas to Improve: Crail Johnson, plain and simple. Omaha has the weapons on offense to win, but he needs to be the operator of this machine and those 3 picks simply won't do. He needs to get his head into the game and work hard, or else this Omaha team is going to crash and burn, something I'd rather not see Julio Stone's reaction to.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/ChicagoPandas.gif
3.) Chicago Pandas 1-0
Positives: Chicago's victory was a hard fought one against New Orleans and they have WR James Speed to thank for their success. He made two great TD catches, one on a long catch-and-run, and really looked to be their top weapon on offense. Defensively, they have themselves two studs in MLB KK Slider and CB Elvis Jackson. Slider was a tackle machine roaming from sideline to sideline while Jackson shut down NO's top receiver for much of the game and had a big INT return TD to boot.
Areas to Improve: While some of it can definitely be attributed to NO's style of offense, Chicago had a hell of a time stopping the run. Even when they pretty much sold out to stop it, sending run blitzes on virtually every play, they couldn't get enough bodies to the ball. Chicago's front 7 will need to work on shedding blocks to solve this problem I feel.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/NewOrleansNightmare.gif
4.) New Orleans Nightmare 0-1
Positives: New Orleans' offense calls for them to establish the run, and boy did they ever. Despite the loss, the Nightmare can officially come away knowing that they can run on anybody. Getting Tank Jackson running behind Anger Killstone, Jabroni James and David McMurray is an awesome weapon that few other teams will be able to match. If only they could find some balance.....
Areas to Improve: Outside of that running game, New Orleans needs some work. QB Seneca Williams simply was not passing the ball well enough to keep the defense on it's toes. I think that New Orleans needs to institute a few more traditional offensive packages to keep defenses from simply crowding the line to stop the run. When they got behind, they just didn't have the firepower on offense to dig themselves out. Defensively, they need to get more out of Coleman and Sanchez. Both had decent games but their secondary is simply not talented enough to hold up when the pass rush isn't getting to that QB.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/IndianapolisRaptors.gif
5.) Indianapolis Raptors 1-0
Positives: Indianapolis was perhaps the most balanced team in their victory, really performing well in all aspects of the game. QB Devin Saint had an efficient day, while their stable of backs carried the load on the ground. On defense, they got good performances from each of their stars, with Ben Grant, Caleb Westgarth, and Desmond Decker all registering a sack.
Areas to Improve: Indy let it get right down to the wire before this game was decided, though they were quite evenly matched with Wyoming. Their passing game wasn't anything spectacular, but as long as their running game gets going, it doesn't have to be.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/WyomingJackalopes-1.gif
6.) Wyoming Jackalops 0-1
Positives: It's always hard to pick out some good points in a loss, but Wyoming did everything it needed to in order to win except for close the deal. QB Herman Walter Plainview looked good today and found what should be his favorite target in TE Logan Stevens. RB Marshall Taylor also had a good day on the ground, helping this offense to look very balanced.
Areas to Improve: Closing the deal. Wyoming was arguably the better team on this day, but they allowed a few sacks and had a costly turnover at the end that gave the game to Indy. They also need to get more pressue on the QB as none of their top defenders could register a sack on Saint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/HonoluluWave2.gif
7.) Honolulu Wave 1-0
Positives: Oh Honolulu, you have to love the lucky wins. Las Vegas appeared to have this game in hand, following all of the old addages about a winning football team by running the ball and shutting down the run. Yet the Wave just refused to have it. Michael Vick lifted the team onto his shoulders and carried the offense to points while Drake McDonald came up with a very clutch play late to give Honolulu their final chance to win. But hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky then good eh?
Areas to Improve: Honolulu could neither run, nor stop the run for much of this ball game. Las Vegas was absolutely crushing them in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Ray Leonard barely averaged 3.0 ypc while Honolulu allowed Dwayne Wright to have a career day. Furthermore, Honolulu struggled to contain Vegas' exotic blitz schemes and allowed several sacks and a safety. Those things will have to change if they are to continue winning in the future.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/LasVegasOutlaws.gif
8.) Las Vegas Outlaws 0-1
Postives: Seriously, Las Vegas, chalk this one up as a fluke and don't get discouraged. You had a championship caliber team on the field today with your ability to run and stop the run. You just got unlucky but hang in there and don't panic.
Areas to Improve: Dwayne Wright's big fumble was really the worst thing that happend today in a number of ways. Yes it cost you the game but really, it was the only huge mistake made. The only other possible mistake was the penalty that got Fenikz big kick return called back. Like I said earlier though, don't panic and stay the course. You can still be one of the best teams in this league.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/PittsburghExplosion.gif
9.) Pittsburgh Explosion 1-0
Positives: Pittsburgh should be proud. They went into the home of what looked like the leagues strongest defense and came out on top. They managed to establish their will, running the ball a lot with Seth Harris Jr, and also shut down Memphis offense holding them to only 10 points.
Areas to Improve: A little more balance on offense would be nice to see. Having QB Al Wood make a few more plays would be nice to see. Being able to finish drives would also prove helpful, as Pittsburgh was forced to attempt field goals on their first several drives.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/MemphisShowboats.gif
10.) Memphis Showboats 0-1
Positives: What looked like the leagues best defense didn't actually play that badly. They were often forced to defend short fields after bad kickoffs and turnovers, and didn't get much rest with a lot of 3 and outs by their offense. That defense can still be dynamic if they can get the offense to at least match their intensity a little bit.
Areas to Improve: The offense was very lax. Pittsburgh's D had their way with Memphis' offense quite a bit and William Bennett needs to limit his mistakes. Their special teams unit also struggled, with several kickoffs going out of bounds.

Name: Coach Brian Wang
Position: Head Coach
Team: Chicago Pandas
Mack: Thanks for taking the time to do this with us Coach Wang. What do you think when wrong in your loss against Omaha?
Wang: I think there were two things that were equally the factor. One thing is our pressure on the quarterback. The defense lives off of that. We didn't get a lot on Crail Johnson and you could tell he felt comfortable back there in the pocket. Something like that should never happen. They have a very talented group of weapons and if he has enough time just to sit back in the pocket, things like that are going to happen. Another thing on offense was the absence of Kenny Writt. He is a big target and will command coverage. Mike Parris is good but Kenny Writt was really missed.
Mack: How soon do you expect Kenny Writt to be back?
Wang: Kenny is doing fine; we just don’t want to rush it. So we are still contemplating playing him next week. It is going from day to day basis. He should be back in 2 weeks, if not in against Indianapolis.
Mack: Tell me how you plan to prepare for the Raptors.
Wang: I think the biggest challenge will be the defensive line. Outside of that and their QB/TE connection, their team is rather average at best. The really test will be the line but I feel like Smithsonian will have a good chance to show why he is the best Center out there and we will se how he can handle Ben Grant. On offensive, they have a strong red zone, but I think they will struggle mightily to get there.
Mack: How impressed have you been with Elvis Jackson and your other high draft picks?
Wang: I am very impressed by Elvis Jackson as well as Jamaal Umenyiora and James Speed. All three have shown why we selected them early. Not to forget K.K. Slider. But just impressing isn't enough. They need to work together and at the end of the season, the wins count as well as the championship. So I hope they can all live up to their potential.
Mack: How optimistic are you about this season?
Wang: I am very optimistic. You got to go into the game with the mindset to win. That is what we are doing. We don't think any team is better than us and we will fight and play every game like that. So everything short of the championship is a disappointment.
Mack: How would you describe your team?
Wang: If I'd had to describe it, I'd say hard working, dedicated, high-character, smart and athletic. We don't have those divas other teams have.
Mack: How important do you think it is that you don’t have these divas?
Wang: I think it is very important. I want my players to concentrate on the game, not on the media. I rather have someone who goes out on Sunday, produces and says nothing, than guys that go out on week days and talk and then disappear on Sunday.
Mack: There were rumors that some teams had removed so called "divas" such as Julio Stone and Domenik Coleman from their draft boards. Was this true for the Pandas?
Wang: Yes. Well we never had a chance to pick Julio, but Coleman and Vissanovich weren't on our draft boards unless it was like the 10th round.
Mack: Who on your team has separated themselves as a leader?
Wang: I think on offense, Speed is really stepping up and forming a nice relationship with Mutler and getting everyone motivated. Smithsonian is really getting into it and leading the o-line and is a great locker room presence. On defense it is probably K.K. Slider and Jamaal Umenyiora. Both are really getting into it and are as fired up as u can be.
Mack: Final question. Do you model your team after any others?
Wang: Every team is different. We always have an idea how a system should be like, but eventually the players themselves give the team a special identity. So I think this team is unique and it shows on every Sunday.
Mack: Thanks for your time, Coach.
Wang: My pleasure. I think it is great to be the first coach to be interviewed by the Inquirer

Name: Todd Smithsonian
Position: C
College: Harvard
Team: Chicago Pandas
Mack: Thanks for taking the time to be with us today, Todd. How excited are you for this season?
Smithsonian: I am very excited. I finally am on my own in a place that I'm happy. I wasn’t happy in college but it didn’t stop me from double majoring, working my tail off and excelling at football. I am so excited to be in Chicago and able to play the game I love.
Mack: What are your expectations for this season?
Smithsonian: For one I expect us to make the playoffs. Two, for me to be first team all league. Third, I want to work hard, day in, day out with my team and build a strong foundation for now and the future.
Mack: How has the city of Chicago been to you?
Smithsonian: It’s been great. I went to college in Boston and there is no comparison. There is so much culture here. Everyone I’ve met has been amazing, and warm and kind. It couldn’t be more different than Boston.
Mack: Clearly you have some lingering emotions towards your time at Harvard. Care to share what went wrong there?
Smithsonian: Well, it was mostly the fact that my father forced me to go there when I had full scholarships from prestigious schools such as Ohio State, Boston College, USC, Wisconsin, and Georgia. I wanted to go to Ohio State or Boston College, but my father forced me to go to Harvard. To this day, I don’t speak to him because of that. But I still went to Harvard, worked hard, proved myself and did exceptionally well.
Mack: How do you feel you are adapting to the pro game?
Smithsonian: I feel as if I’m adapting well. The biggest knock on me was my height, which was recorded incorrectly. I am 6'1 3/4. But I have great technique, great work ethic, and a great understanding of the game. I can take on the biggest of nose tackles and the quickest of Defensive ends. I am adapting quite well, I think.
Mack: We just interviewed your head coach, Brian Wang. He said that you have singled yourself out as a leader. Do you agree with this?
Smithsonian: Yes I am a natural born leader. It comes second nature to me. I want to succeed and I feel that only I can control my success so I want to extend my work ethic and philosophy to others on the team. The only way that happens is leading by example and being there for my teammates.
Mack: Describe to me your battle with gingervitis.
Smithsonian: Well it sucks sometimes but I don’t think looks mean anything. But, I must be alone in this sentiment, as I am still a virgin. I think it’s my personality that counts and I can out wit, out class, out smart anyone that approaches me with their elementary remarks to me about my hair. If I needed to I would destroy their existence but I have to tame it and be better than them.
Mack: Do you have a response to the people who criticize you for your excessive playing of World of Warcraft?
Smithsonian: No, I don’t at all. It cultivates your mind.
Mack: How have you and your teammates bonded?
Smithsonian: We have bonded by having several group outings, and training camp helped to bring us all closer. We went bowling once, and Elvis Jackson bowled a 288. He is amazing at everything he does.
Mack: Final question. Are there any players whom you model your game after?
Smithsonian: Yes, there are two in fact. Nick Mangold and Dermonti Dawson are my two favorite players ever and who I inspire my game after.
Mack: Thanks for your time, Todd, and best of luck to you.
Smithsonian: Thank you, sir!

Week 2 - 10 Pack Review
With Former NAFL star QB and current Sportswriter Tommy Lucky
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/atommy2.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/LasVegasOutlaws.gif
1.) Las Vegas Outlaws (1-1)
Positives: Vegas was literally thisssss close to being 2-0 this week, if not for some bad lucky against Honolulu in week 1. Vegas does what any championship team needs to do, and that is run the ball well. And trust me, coming from a former QB, that is hard to say. The combo of the consistent, well-rounded Dwayne Wright with the big play threat of Marcus Fenikz is the greatest weapon this team has, as Wyoming found out this week. And with trick plays up their sleeve, this team will be a threat to anyone who has to face them. Bad news for Omaha as they enter a Week 3, primetime showdown together.
Areas to Improve: Their traditional passing game is still lacking, as James Rockefeller has yet to show any ability beyond being a game manager. K Jorge De La Rosa also struggled mightily this week meaning that FGs aren't going to be automatic for the Outlaws.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/WyomingJackalopes-1.gif
2.) Wyoming Jackalopes (0-2)
Positives: Like Vegas, Wyoming was close to a week 1 win that simply wasn't meant to be, and currently sit as the leagues only 0-2 team. They can take some solace in the fact that they didn't actually play a bad game this week. It was much closer than the final score would indicate and many of their players have been playing at a high level. Fear not Wyoming fans, this team still has at on of potential with a lot of games left to play.
Areas to Improve: Getting that first "W" sure would be nice. They play a well rounded game, but really haven't flashed in any one area that could help them get over the top. They could also stand to do a better job of protecting Plainview which would go a long way towards helping them turn around their season.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/OmahaKangaroos.gif
3.) Omaha Kangaroos (1-1)
Positives: Crail Johnson really did turn things around after a disastrous week 1. Same goes for Bolt Williams who really emerged as a third threat to feed off the coverage that Julio Stone and Leopold Carmichael draw. Their defense also seems like the real deal after it was initially believed to be the team's weakness. Adolf Klux and Troy Ryder both made big plays this week and if that continues, this team will be a huge threat headed forward.
Areas to Improve: They allowed a big game from one Mr. James Speed this week, both as a receiver and return man. Big power back Aaron Campbell also gave them fits defensively, which could prove to be a liability headed forward.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/ChicagoPandas.gif
4.) Chicago Pandas (1-1)
Positives: James Speed had another big week even without fellow wide out Kenny Writt available to draw coverage away. He's developing into quite the offensive weapon for the Pandas. KK Slider is also evolving into the role of defensive leader, notching another bunch of tackles this week. K/P Ike Stantios has also proven to be a great weapon nailing all of his FG attempts as well as drilling a few kickoffs and punts.
Areas to Improve: After a good week 1, QB Ray Mutler took a few steps back this week in the turnover department as well as taking a good number of sacks. Some of this can be blamed on the o-line which is a great group as run blockers but needs to mesh better as pass blockers. The defense also struggled and showed a lack of general depth trying to match up with Omaha's playmakers.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/SacramentoAttack.gif
5.) Sacramento Attack (2-0)
Positives: The league's only undefeated team has a lot of reasons to be happy this week, but I'm sure their head coach isn't going to allow them to bask for long. They DOMINATED Honolulu this week in every way. Robert Crucial could not be stopped on the ground and Scott Wright could not be stopped through the air. Their defense was also tenacious and beat down Honolulu in everything they attempted offensively. Look for Sacramento to be one of the league's superpowers headed forward.
Areas to Improve: It feels like nit-picking to find weaknesses in the only 2-0 team in the league, but they could stand to make more big plays defensively. They didn't force any turnovers defensively and also came away with only 2 sacks. They could also use another weapon to step up in the passing game, where only TJ Sunstein has been a great threat.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/HonoluluWave2.gif
6.) Honolulu Wave (1-1)
Positives: They're only a game back in the Western Division, but they probably feel like an 0-16 team after that. Michael Vick managed to be efficient even in the loss, while Scott Carr really stepped up as a defensive leader and was the only Wave defender out there giving his all.
Areas to Improve: All great teams can run the ball and stop the run...well, Honolulu did neither. Their run defense was abysmal for a 2nd straight week, while Ray Leonard was unable to muster much offensively either. They have a lot to sort out or else they're going to be looking at the #1 overall draft pick in the 2nd DCFL draft...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/MemphisShowboats.gif
7.) Memphis Showboats (1-1)
Positives: The Memphis defense once again showed that they are the #1 unit in the league, no question about it. When they set out to shut someone down, they do it. Memphis plays an old school, smashmouth kind of game that may not be pretty to watch, but gets the job done. Their offense also showed improvement this week from last, but that's still only like going from being blind to having one eye...And I'd like to give a special shout out to DE/UT Fulgrim Chemos who made the play of the year so far sacking Devin Saint on that final drive.
Areas to Improve: Like I said, it was a much better performance by their offense, but it is still the team's weakest unit by a wide margin. QB Will Bennett still needs to show he can lead an offense with his arm, as he relied greatly on his legs to make plays in this game. Their top WR Tom Adams was also held catchless, even though Indy's CB group is like their weakest unit. He needs to step up and help out that passing game. K Louis D'Amore, while he did a little better this week, needs to be more consistent with his kickoffs and FG attempts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/IndianapolisRaptors.gif
8.) Indianapolis Raptors (1-1)
Positives: You can't fault the Raptors too much, they kept up with Memphis in a smashmouth game the way no one thought they could. They traded blows until very late in the game and came within a few yards of being 2-0. Devin Saint showed me maturity in this game that I questioned previously, and they showed good ability to adjust on both sides of the ball.
Areas to Improve: They were unable to really establish themselves on offense, but some of that can be blamed on how good Memphis was on defense. Their only touchdown also came on a trick play, which cannot always be counted on. They could also stand to create more plays defensively, as they came away with few sacks and had a couple of dropped picks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/NewOrleansNightmare.gif
9.) New Orleans Nightmare (1-1)
Positives: Everyone knew they could run the ball, and that didn't change this week. If he stays healthy, Joe Jackson has a great chance to set records that may stand in the DCFL for years to come with his rushing. The combination of Jabroni James, David McMurray and Anger Killstone as blockers will bulldoze just about any defense set before them as well. The pass rush tandem of Roman David Sanchez and Domenik Coleman also came to play this week, notching 3 sacks between them.
Areas to Improve: Seneca Williams still doesn't impress me as a passer, even if he fits the system well. Being able to run all day is fine as long as you're ahead, but like we saw in week 1, get behind and you don't have the means to catch up quickly. They also had some inter-locker room turmoil this week between Killstone and Coleman, so for their sake, I hope they keep winning or this team could self destruct rather quickly.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/PittsburghExplosion.gif
10.) Pittsburgh Xplosion (1-1)
Positives: Like Honolulu, it's tough to find a positive in Pittsburgh's game after this blowout loss. They can take solace in the fact that their personnel really didn't match up well with New Orleans' offense, which can attribute a bit to this loss. Seth Harris Jr also made some big plays on the day proving he can be relied on as the top offensive weapon.
Areas to Improve: QB Al Wood had about as bad of game as one can without turning the ball over, something that needs to change for Pittsburgh to be competitive. They could also stand to protect the QB better speaking of the offensive line. Like I mentioned earlier, their personnel really doesn't match up well with New Orleans but that still isn't an excuse for how poorly they performed. They simply need to make more plays on defense.

Week 3 10-Pack Review
With Tommy Lucky
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/atommy2.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/MemphisShowboats.gif
1.) Memphis Showboats (2-1)
Positives: Well if it's not obvious from the final score of this one, Memphis can count on their defense. Not only do they play hard all game long, but they've had their playmakers come up clutch two weeks in a row. This time it was Normand Jackson with a pick late giving them a chance to score the winning TD.
Areas to Improve: That offense simply has to get better. I don't care how they do it, whether they start running better or passing better, but they need to gain more yards and score more points. We've seen before in pro football where a great defensive team starts to see their starters wear down and get hurt late in the season from simply being on the field to much. Memphis needs to get creative and do something with that offense. Perhaps they should even consider trading off a lesser defensive piece for an offensive playmaker...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/NewOrleansNightmare.gif
2.) New Orleans Nightmare (1-2)
Positives: New Orleans clearly has the best running game in the league, there's just no doubt about it. They battered forward behind some tremendous blockers and even managed a good game against the league's toughest defense. Their defense has also looked pretty good as Roman David Sanchez has emerged as a real playmaker for them, notching two sacks and two TFLs in this game.
Areas to Improve: Though he is a good fit for their style of offense, they really need to get Seneca Williams to be more efficient in the passing game. Times will come where they need to throw the ball, and Williams has yet to show that he can be the QB they want in those spots. Their special teams was also a sore spot this week, as they saw both a FG and an XP attempt get blocked.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/WyomingJackalopes-1.gif
3.) Wyoming Jackalopes (1-2)
Positives: They finally got that elusive first win. Wyoming has been far from a bad team the first two weeks but ran into some tough teams both times. Against Honolulu, they kicked it up a notch and got some big plays from their playmakers on both sides of the ball to get them in the win column for once. Now they just need to keep riding this momentum and more wins should follow.
Areas to Improve: It didn't help them this week that their top two offensive linemen each gave up a sack. They also allowed quite a few TFLs to some of Honolulu's top defenders which is also a problem they should try to address.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/HonoluluWave2.gif
4.) Honolulu Wave (1-2)
Positives: They kept the under team under 200 yards rushing! Yay! That's a good start but they need to do even better if they want to turn this slide around. They could easily be 0-3 if not for a bit of luck in week 1. Ray Leonard finally stepped up with a nicer game and, as always, they saw good defensive performances out of Drake McDonald and Scott Carr. They simply need more though if they are going to turn this season around.
Areas to Improve: While they slowed the run down a whole lot compared to their first two games, they still allowed Marshall Taylor to have a pretty good day. Couple that with Michael Vick having a real down day, at times trying to do too much, and it was a recipe for disaster. Things aren't going to get any easier next week either as they play the league's top rushing team: New Orleans.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/SacramentoAttack.gif
5.) Sacramento Attack (3-0)
Positives: Another week, another efficient beat down for the Attack. Scott Wright had a great game passing the ball and found his favorite target in Sunstein several times, even in the crappy weather. They also saw some good running out of their starting HB and FB, as well as generally solid play from their defense to shut Pittsburgh down. It's hard to pinpoint Sacramento's greatest strength...they just do it all well, a real winning recipe if I do say so.
Areas to Improve: Like it's hard to find their greatest strength, it is equally hard to nail down a great weakness for them either. If there is one thing, I suppose that it would be their lack of any one "take the game over" type of player. Even then, they may have that guy, but he just hasn't had to show up yet because they've won their games comfortably so far. It'll be interesting to see what happens if/when Sacramento finds themselves in a tough battle though.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/PittsburghExplosion.gif
6.) Pittsburgh Xplosion (1-2)
Positives: It's always hard to find positives in such a one sided loss, and it is no different for Pittsburgh here. As a whole, their team doesn't look bad, but they need to work harder in all aspects of the game to see any improvement.
Areas to Improve: On offense, they need to get more out of their passing game. QB Al Wood had a disappointing game today, and their o-line played poorly with their two best players each giving up a sack. Their defense won't be helped out by losing S Kenny Mustain for several weeks either. Pittsburgh needs to find some life in a hurry or they may be a league bottomfeeder this season...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/OmahaKangaroos.gif
7.) Omaha Kangaroos (2-1)
Positives: What a game from Julio Stone, right? And that whole Omaha offense in general...wow. As a former QB myself, I'd just love having that trio of talented playmakers that Crail Johnson has to throw to there in Omaha. They also broke out a trick play with Bolt Williams who showed that he still has the arm to sling the ball around a bit as well. Their defensive gameplan was dialed up perfectly to stop Vegas as well, seemingly knowing what the Outlaws were going to do and making the perfect changes to stop it.
Areas to Improve: Not that they needed it today, but their run game was quite ho-hum. Defensively, they didn't create many plays in the way one would like to see them, but they did do a good enough job slowing down Vegas enough for the win. Their special teams also looked a bit vulnerable with Marcus Fenikz having several great returns against them, including one for a TD.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/LasVegasOutlaws.gif
8.) Las Vegas Outlaws (1-2)
Positives: No team seems to be more of an enigma than the Outlaws this year. When they play well, they look like they could be the best team in the league with a great running game and an aggressive, playmaking defense. I don't worry too much about Vegas though, as in the end, i think they will emerge as one of the league's top teams.
Areas to Improve: Vegas' run game powered their offense in the first two weeks of the season, yet today it struggled against Omaha's well crafted game plan. Marcus Fenikz did rip off a nice, long TD run but aside from that, they struggled. Dwayne Wright's fumble also didn't help them this game. And while Omaha was selling out to slow the run, QB James Rockefeller couldn't muster anything to take advantage of it. Defensively, Omaha discovered a good strategy of quick passes to neutralize Vegas' tough pass rush. I think they need to be ready with some better adjustments in the future if they are to turn things around this season.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/IndianapolisRaptors.gif
9.) Indianapolis Raptors (2-1)
Positives: Aside from one defensive beat-down at the hands of Memphis, Indy has had a quietly good season so far, proving to be a versatile and well rounded team. QB Devin Saint was deadly efficient while RB Ernie Cobourne showed just how much of an offensive weapon he can be with his versatility. Defensively, they got lots of sacks/pressures and TFLs from their front which also helps.
Areas to Improve: Indy gave up a lot of yards on the ground to Chicago, and Chicago's powerful o-line really dominated Indy's front at times. WR James Speed also shredded Indy's secondary for a lot of yards which leads one to wonder if Indy has the all around defensive strength needed to last deep into the year...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/ChicagoPandas.gif
10.) Chicago Pandas (1-2)
Positives: Chicago showed today that in terms of run blocking at least, they have the best line across the board. Both Campbell and Masterson saw carries and were effective today. James Speed is also proving to be a great playmaker and big play threat for the Pandas as well. Ike Stantios is also an amazing kicker who can hit FGs from seemingly anywhere on the field and can also alter field position battles in an instant with his punting and kickoff power.
Areas to Improve: Ray Mutler did't have a great day at quarterback, throwing a costly pick. Defensively, they also struggles to get much pressure on the QB, even with Jamaal Umenyiora having a good matchup. I think the pieces will come together for Chicago and I worry about them a little less than some of the other 1-2 teams.

Sacramento Player Injured during Practice
The league office has gotten word that Sacramento Attack starting C Ray Maiava rolled an ankle in a practice following the team's week 4 loss to Las Vegas.
Said another player who witnessed the event:
"It was just a typical practice when Ray went down. One of the defensive lineman got pushed down during the play and slid into Ray's leg."
The training staff has ruled that it is a high ankle sprain with some slight ligament damage. Maiava is expected to miss 3-5 weeks.
A statement by Head Coach Chuck Sampson is likely to come later this evening.

Klux Fined After Brawl
Visits with Commissioner
Commissioner Baron opted not to suspend star Omaha LB Adolf Klux after his week 4 on-field brawl, but he will be fined 1 game check for his role in the fight.
"Football is a very testy game and the guys on the field give it all on their every play. It's only natural that this will sometime boil over into a fight," said Baron in a statement to the reporters.
"I met with Klux after the game and he seemed sincerely sorry for his actions. At that point, I decided to forgo a suspension and only fined him. He will also be placed on league probation, meaning that any further negative actions, on or off the field, will automatically result in at least a 1 game suspension."
Klux was unavailable for comment, with a team official stating that he was busy preparing for his week 5 contest.

Week 4 10-Pack Review
With Former QB Tommy Lucky
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/WyomingJackalopes-1.gif
1.) Wyoming Jackalopes (2-2)
Positives: For the 2nd week in a row, Wyoming won a closer game and has managed to show a lot of character in climbing back from their 0-2 start. QB Herman Plainview was efficient, as always, and found his most reliable target in TE Logan Stevens for several clutch plays including the TD. Wyoming's vaunted secondary also more than held their own against the high powered passing attack of Omaha.
Areas to Improve: While they climbed back to .500, they allowed Omaha to creep back into the game late. Being able to more effectively close down opponents would be a great boost for this team. They also lost starting FS Melvin Callahan for a few weeks, weakening their team's strongest unit.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/OmahaKangaroos.gif
2.) Omaha Kangaroos (2-2)
Positives: Omaha once again showed that their offense can play with the best of them, even in a relatively down week. Crail Johnson threw a few picks but followed them up with some key TD passes later in the game in nearly leading his team to a comeback. Their defense also played well until late, even without starting DE Ted Neal.
Areas to Improve: This team had an offensive let down after the big win over Las Vegas last week, no two ways about it. They also saw their defensive leader, LB Adolf Klux, explode on the field and start a fight. They are very lucky that he was not suspended.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/LasVegasOutlaws.gif
3.) Las Vegas Outlaws (2-2)
Positives: Keeping with their weekly tradtion of booming or busting, Vegas came out and "boomed" this week. Their rushing attack wrecked the Sacramento front while their defense and special teams units came up with big plays to keep Sacramento buried right from the beginning.
Areas to Improve: Coming off of such an decisive win, its hard to find a great flaw with this team. Going on the season as we whole, they need to come up with a way to be more consistent. They are quite possibly the league's strongest team whe on their game, but that doesn't happen each week.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/SacramentoAttack.gif
4.) Sacramento Attack (3-1)
Positives: Despite the loss, Sacramento still holds the lead in the Western Division and did play a little better than their meager 13 points would otherwise indicate. They just need to get back to what they did well the first few weeks and write this game off as an aberration.
Areas to Improve: Big plays are what hurt them this week. Be it in the return game or on big offensive plays, they allowed Vegas' playmakers to do too much with the ball in hand. Like I mentioned in the positives, shake this one off and go back to what has worked prior to this game.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/NewOrleansNightmare.gif
5.) New Orleans Nightmare (2-2)
Positives: Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Enough said? How about some more? Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Tank Johnson set the single game DCFL rushing record this week and it honeslty doesn't look like New Orleans is going to be stopped when they decide to run. Roman David Sanchez has also proven to be the league's most elite pass rusher, and it helps that he has a focused Domenik Coleman in front of him absorbing blockers.
Areas to Improve: I keep saying it...we need to see more out of Seneca Williams. There is going to be a time where this team needs to pass the ball to win, and I'm still not sure if he's the guy I want behind center in that situation...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/HonoluluWave2.gif
6.) Honolulu Wave (1-3)
Positives: At least this game was closer eh? That week 1 win probably feels like an eternity ago for this Honolulu team which is finding out the golden rule of Pro Football: You need to be able to run and stop the run to have success...
Areas to Improve: Like I said, find a way to run and stop the run or else you are doomed as a football team. New Orleans was their toughest matchup to date due to their weaknesses and it showed, badly.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/MemphisShowboats.gif
7.) Memphis Showboats (3-1)
Positives: Their great defense has held opponents to just 10, 9 and 11 points in their last 3 games. With numbers that low, their offense needs only to be average and they can pull out wins.
Areas to Improve: Their offense hasn't been average though...still struggling to get much going. I worry that their defense will start to tire and wear out late in the season if they don't find a way to improve their offensive output soon.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/ChicagoPandas.gif
8.) Chicago Pandas (1-3)
Positives: Chicago managed to hold their own for much of the game against Memphis but just couldn't pull it off in the end. James Speed had another good game and is entrenched as the 2nd best receiver behind Julio Stone in the league pretty clearly.
Areas to Improve: While a lot of it can be attributed to Memphis' D, their rushing attack never really got going. Kenny Writt also continues to struggle in recovering from an early season hamstring injury and had a big drop in the game as well. If would also be nice if they could get more pressure on defense.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/BeerBaron/IndianapolisRaptors.gif
9.) Indianapolis Raptors (3-1)
Positives: Indy continues to win with balance and mistake free football. QB Devin Saint still hasn't thrown a pick, and they just get big games out of everyone that can step it up. Ben Grant also had a HUGE game against Pittsburgh as a one man pass rush, notching 3 sacks.
Areas to Improve: It's really hard to find a big time weakness with Indy....they've been winning, but they've been winning close. That could come back to haunt them if they struggle to put away games in the future.

Vince Scully's Games of the Week
1. Sacramento at Wyoming
Sacramento suffered their first loss of the season last week as Las Vegas came in and beat them down. Wyoming is riding a two game winning streak and their fans are some of the most rabid in the DCFL. This game is crucial for Wyoming because if they win then they will leapfrog Sacramento and will sit on top of the Western Division after winning the head to head matchup.
2. Indianapolis at New Orleans
Right now Indianapolis just sits a half game behind Memphis in the Eastern Division. A win against division foe New Orleans as well as a Memphis loss will boost the tenacious Raptors on top of their division. New Orleans, however, will not go down without a fight as their running game is #1 in the league.
3. Memphis at Las Vegas
Inter-division game of the week!
Las Vegas is coming off of an emotional victory after getting a W over previously unbeaten Sacramento. Memphis is coming into the game with a stingy defense but will be missing of their playmakers in Tyson Kase-Owens who is serving a one game suspension. A Las Vegas win will keep them in the thick of the Western Division while a Memphis win will help keep them above Indianapolis in the Eastern Division.

Kangaroos Punch Back
By Vince Scully
Reporter/Announcer
FoxSports News has just learned that the Omaha Kangaroos front office has issued a formal statement concerning the conduct of standout wide receiver Julio Stone.
"If wide receiver Julio Stone criticizes any of the actions made by the Omaha Kangaroos organization, their coaches, or players for their actions on or off the field again then we, the Kangaroos front office, reserve the right to fine or suspend him for any amount we deem necessary."
This statement was issued after several disparaging remarks made by the receiver towards the coaching staff, fellow Omaha players, and the referee's following a 23-21 loss to the Wyoming Jackalopes where Stone caught six passes for 75 yards and zero touchdowns.

Memphis DE Chemos Rushed to Hospital
League sources have confirmed that Memphis DE Fulgrim Chemos was found unconscious in the team's weight room and has been rushed to the hospital.
Reports indicate that he was suffering from dehydration and exhaustion. Several team sources have stated that they believe Chemos has not left the practice facility since returning from the teams week 5 loss to Las Vegas.
"We've placed him on an IV to get him rehydrated and are ensuring that he receives plenty of bedrest," stated Dr. Bryon Bailey of the Memphis area hospital.
Chemos was diagnosed with a type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that causes extreme perfectionism, and did miss time in while in college for reasons associated with the disorder.
"We recommend that he sit out from practicing or playing from one week to recover," stated Bailey.
No word from Chemos or the team has been available as of yet.

Las Vegas WR Johnson Arrested following Night Club Brawl
The Las Vegas police have reported that Las Vegas WR Johnson Johnson was arrested early this morning due to his role in a large fight that broke out in a Las Vegas night club.
Per the police report, Johnson and a group of friends (including several teammates,) were celebrating their victory over Memphis by drinking at the night club in question when they were approached by a group of individuals who, witnesses say, were taunting Johnson's group.
A verbal fight quickly followed and Johnson punched a member of the other group in the face. A fight quickly broke out and some of the night club's property was damaged, including several tables, chairs and a window.
Night club security intervened and the police were called. Johnson, several of his friends, and several members of the other group were all arrested for destruction of property and simple assault charges.
Also at the night club were Las Vegas players Marcus Fenikz, Jimi Hendrix and RJ Slither. None were arrested and charges are not expected to be filed against any of them.
No word has been made available yet from the team or Johnson, but a commissioner's statement is expected later in the day.

New Orleans DE Coleman Arrested after DUI
New Orleans star DE Domenik Coleman was arrested late last evening after being pulled over for suspicion of DUI.
Coleman was apparently fiesty with the officer and refused to step out of the car or submit to a breathalizer.
After several minutes of arguing with the officer, backup was called and Coleman finally left his car. He was arrested for Obstruction of Justice and had a DUI charge tacked on after later tests revealed his blood alcohol content to be nearly twice the legal limit.
Two handguns were also found in Coleman's car, though both were registered to him legally.

New Orleans FB Killstone Saves a Life
On the same day his teammate Domenik Coleman was in the news for all the wrong reasons, New Orleans FB Anger Killstone was in for the right ones.
Out for a mid morning jog before practice in his suburban neighborhood, Killstone witnessed two cars collide in an intersection in front of him.
An SUV driven by an older man t-boned a smaller car being driven by a young woman. The SUV drove the car several feet off the road and into a electrical pole.
Other witnesses at the scene said that sparks flew from the above transformer and lit fluids leaking out of the car on fire. The driver was trapped in the car, pinned in by the SUV who's driver was struggling with his deployed air bag.
Killstone leapt through the flames, smashed in the windshield of the car with his feet and pulled the woman out of the car, carrying her to safety.
Killstone declined comment to anyone but police at the scene, but both he and the woman are unharmed.

DCFL Quick Hits
First Down!
With their win over the New Orleans Nightmare the Omaha Kangaroos now have the best record in the DCFL at 6-2 and are on a league best 4 game winning streak. One can only speculate that their winning ways may come to an end after star wide receiver Julio Stone's behavior on the field this past Sunday.
Clash of the Titans
Prior to Omaha's win Sunday, the Eastern division leading Memphis Showboats hosted the Western division leading Sacramento Attack in what could be a prelude to the DCFL Championship game. After the dust settled the Showboats stood victorious by beating the Attack 11-9. The Showboats defense once again proved itself to be the best in the league but one has to worry about their chances if they are unable to trade for another weapon on offense.
Free Falling...
The Pittsburgh XPlosion continue their freefall into the cellar of the Eastern Division. After their week 6 win over Honolulu the XPlosion have lost two straight. Their counterparts in the Western division, the Honolulu Wave, have at least shown some signs of life although their record mirrors that of Pittsburgh. One can only assume that these two organizations will try to be active come the trade deadline to see if they can receive some talent to help them try and crawl of the cellar.
News and Notes
The New Orleans Nightmare currently possess the league's longest recent losing streak at 3 games. They have not won a game since Week 5.
Next weeks game with the Las Vegas at Indianapolis is the week's most crucial matchup. Vegas needs a win to keep up with Sacramento and Omaha in the West while Indianapolis needs a win to get above .500 and stay in contention in the East.
The Wyoming Jackalopes are at .500 for the first time since week 4.

After twice displaying over the top celebrations at the expense of suspended New Orleans DE Domenik Coleman, Stone found himself ejected from the game by the head official.
He will also find himself a little lighter in the pockets, $10,000 lighter to be exact.
The fine was handed down by the Commissioner this morning after careful consideration.
"The fans love it when a player who makes a big play celebrates and we believe that it is good for the league. However, we cannot tolerate pre-meditated celebrations that include the use of props," stated the Commish in his statement.
Stone will not be placed on league probation as he did not commit any crimes or endanger other players on the field of play. Futher actions of this nature may get him placed there however according to the Commissioner.

Armchair Quarterback
by Vince Scully
Pre-Game Warmups
Week 11 just wrapped up in the DCFL and the playoff picture is becoming more clear. Right now, Memphis and Sacramento all but have the number one seeds locked up in their respective divisions. In the inaugural season of the league both of these franchises have stood out as the teams to beat as both hold the same record in the league (8-3) and in their divisions (5-1).
While the aforementioned clubs are the clear teams to beat in each division, the rest of the playoff picture still remains cloudy. In the Western Division the Omaha Kangaroos stormed out the gate and even held a league best record at 7-2 during week 9 but they have been on a two game skid. In the East the Indianapolis Raptors were on a three game winning streak but hit the brick wall of the Memphis defense during week 11 and lost a crucial game which gave the Showboats the tiebreaker over Indianapolis should a tie happen for the top seed in the Eastern Division.
Quick Hits
Week 11 mirrored Week 7 as each home team won their games.
The lone upset of Week 11 came in Wyoming as the Jackalopes defeated the visiting Las Vegas Outlaws.
Memphis has the longest current winning streak at 4 games. Omaha holds the longest winning streak in the young league's history at 5 games.
Las Vegas fell below .500 for the first time this season and currently sit in fourth in the Western Division, which is also another first as they previously have not been worse than third.
Pittsburgh is on a 5 game losing streak which ties a league record with Honolulu.
3 and Out
(Games of the Week)
1. Indianapolis Raptors @ Chicago Pandas: This is a crucial Eastern Division match-up as an Indianapolis win would give them the tie-breaker against Chicago and almost guarantee them the second seed in the East come playoff time. A Chicago win would knock Indianapolis down to third in the Eastern Division and give them a better division record than Indianapolis.
Prediction: Indianapolis 24 Chicago 17
This game should stay close as both teams are evenly matched but the dissension in the Chicago locker room is their ultimate demise
2. New Orleans Nightmare @ Memphis Showboats: Another Eastern Division showdown in what has become dubbed the "Battle along the Mississippi". Memphis won their first contest by a score of 10-9 and a Memphis win here will guarantee them first place in the Eastern Division. A New Orleans win get them back to .500, although they possess the third best division record in the DCFL at 4-2. It will also put them right back in the playoff hunt.
Prediction: Memphis 13 New Orleans 10
Memphis is one of the top teams in this league and have proven their hunger. Their offense has shown some sparks of life recently by them shifting to a no-huddle offense while their defense remains the best in the league. New Orleans keeps it close, though, due to their awesome rushing attack.
3. Las Vegas Outlaws @ Omaha Kangaroos How can two teams who are on losing streaks be the last game of the week? Well, an Omaha victory here pretty much locks up the 2nd seed in the Western Division while a Las Vegas win puts them back at .500 and back into the playoff hunt. Outlaws QB James Rockefeller will be 100% for this game which will boost Las Vegas' chances but one has to wonder how they will stop the Omaha passing attack.
Prediction: Omaha 37 Las Vegas 28
Las Vegas should be able to keep it close up to halftime but after that Omaha's firepower will just wear down the Outlaws defense. Vegas really does not have the personnel to stop Julio Stone and he should have a career day.

Crucial Injury Worse than Thought?
Sacramento RB Robert Crucial left today's game against Pittsburgh with injuries to his elbow and wrist, which were on first analysis determined to be sprains.
However, upon further inspection by the teams medical staff after returning to their practice facility, it is possible that Crucial actually has a break in one or both of the injured joints.
The team has not released any official statements but it is known that Crucial will be reevaluated tomorrow and x-rays will be taken.
Crucial has been a major contributor in the Attack's offense, and losing him would be a major blow to their postseason chances.
