This thread is for official announcements of all things DCFL.
Only BeerBaron, Scottyboy, and EATW are permitted to post in here.
I'm going to sticky this thread so that all announcements are at the top of the thread.

FILLING OUT YOUR ROSTER
Now that the draft is done, we can begin the next step in the process of creating the teams, having the coaches fill in the remainder of their rosters with the average to below average players of the team.
In the case of most of the teams, you should already have 12 players from the draft (11 for Hon, 13 for Chi, more on this later) so the rest of these guys will be your scrubby starters and bench warmers.
Step 1 - Submit 1 84 overall player request to me.
Miss out on drafting that one last position you needed to fill? Just want to add another fairly quality player to your roster? This is where to do it. Each team will be allowed to send a request to me for the addition of an 84 overall player of their choosing. This player will be an older veteran, around 32-35 years of age in the twilight of his career. This player CANNOT be a QB, and only one player per position will be handed out. I will announce what teams got what players. It's sort of a first come first serve, so request the position you want early and the type of player he is to have the best shot at getting your guy. PM the position and general player type and I will let you know the result.
Step 2 - Teams who didn't draft a QB
Some argue that QB is the most important position in sports, and it's hard to disagree. Below you will find a list of overalls and the amount of players you can have at that overall. No QB may have an overall higher than 77, and your QB is to be based off a real life, currently in the NFL, average-at-best QB. Your player will play like his real life counterpart for ease of writing in the games. Examples could include "Lyle Morton" or "Shane Mill." This only goes for the teams who need a self-made QB for their starter. Your backup QB will just need to follow the same rules as the other players.
Step 3 - Fill out the rest of the positions.
Using the below restrictions, fill in the rest of your roster. Please keep the players simple. You need only include name, college, age, height, weight, 40 time. **All the needed info for this player will come from these!** Remember, these are the leagues average-at-best type of players, so no "physical freaks who just haven't hit their potential yet" or any BS like that. Totally average players here. If your backup RB goes into the game that I'm writing, and I see that he's 6'0 240 with a 4.55 40, I will assume he is a big power back. There are no age restrictions for the players with overalls 68-77, but remember, these guys are your depth. If they are all really young, your depth will be inexperienced and play as such. If they are all old, your depth will be less athletic and will play as such. A variety of ages in these players is likely best.
Restrictions:
Overall - # of players - Applicable restrictions
84 - 1 - Age 32-35, No QB, Submitted to me
80 - 2 - Age 30+, No QB
77 - 3
75 - 4
74 - 2
73 - 3
72 - 4
70 - 4
68 - 3
65 - 2 - "undrafted rookies," Age <23
For Honolulu who had 1 few draft pick, they will create 1 additional 65 overall player. Chicago, who had an extra draft pick, will create 1 fewer 65 overall.
In the end, you should total 40 players, broken down like this:
2 QB
3 RB/FB
4 WR
2 TE
3 OT
3 OG
2 C
7 DL (5 for 3-4)
5 LB (7 for 3-4)
4 CB
3 S
1 K
1 P
You can play around with those numbers! Just make sure you total 40!

Note for the Depth Chart/Rosters:
If everyone could go into the depth chart thread and look at what Caddy and EATW did, that would be great.
It makes it really easy to read and has all of the needed info right there on the same line as the player name.
That's really what I'm trying to get....if you could all organize your team's like that in that thread, it would be MUCH appreciated by me. It is what I plan to do anyway, and it would save me a lot of trouble. Each coach would need only to organize their team like that once, while I'd have to do it like 10 times for everybody.....
Thanks.

GAMES TO START SOON!!
I hope everyone included their coaching attributes in their player ratings. I'm not going to be a crazy stickler about it this season, I'm just trying to speed things along so we can get games pumping. So just make sure that is done in your depth chart reflected overalls and all will be well.
If you haven't done it yet, well get to it! I'm going to do up the first weeks results so if you haven't done it, it will just be reflected in week two. (Odds are a point or two here or there isn't going to have a major impact anyway.....)
PMing EATW the first weekss results so hopefully we can start on games!!!
My plan is to do 4 of the games per day, between two, maybe 3 writers depending on if Scotty wants to write when he returns. They'll be shorter write ups, about one big paragraph per quarter just highlighting significant events like scores, turnovers and injuries with a little bit of flare maybe.
Then for the 5th game, I'm going to try and pick on per week and do that one seperate, with a big write up in the fashion that I did the NAFL write ups if anyone remembers. Highly narritative, etc. Should be fun. I'll try to pick the most intriguing or important match ups per week, and I'll try not to favor any teams, but if it gets late in the year and one team has some important games in a row, they may get a few of the "prime time" write ups.

A Few Commissioner Announcements:

Commissioner Baron Speaks
1.) Trade Deadline
Should any teams be looking to make a few moves trying to bolster their roster and fill some weaknesses in season, the deadline will be between weeks 7 and 8. Once the week 8 results have been determined, (you will be notified) there will be no more trades. In addition, since the procedures for season 2 have yet to be determined, the league office asks that you try to keep the trades player for player only since we're not sure how future drafts will work.
2.) Playoffs? Playoffs!? We're talking about...playoffs!!??
The playoffs will work as follows: Each Division will send their top 3 teams to the post season. Seed 3 will play at Seed 2, with Seed 1 getting a bye during that week. The winning of the 2/3 matchup will then play at Seed 1 for a chance to advance to the championship game against the representative from the opposing division. Seeds will be determined by the following set of tiebreakers:
1.) Overall W-L record
2.) Head to head record
3.) In Division record
4.) Home W-L record
5.) Coin Flip
3.) Pro Bowl!
To determine the Pro Bowl contestants, we will hold a vote prior to the post-season. Every Head Coach, Assistant Coach and player will be able to send in one ballot where they vote for a player of their choice. (If you are both a player and a coach, you get to send your ballot twice so it counts for double.) Since our league is small, we don't need to go as deep as the NFL, so we will use the following format:
1 QB
2 RB/FB
3 WR
1 TE
2 OT
2 OG
1 C
3 DE/3-4 OLB
2 DT
3 LB
3 CB
2 S
1 K
1 P
1 RS
Thank you. Direct your questions to the office of the Commissioner.

Addition to the Trade Deadline Announcement:
After careful consideration, I've determined that we will try to have at least 4 rounds in the next DCFL draft, even if some CPU players need to be made up at the end to fill it out.
So Draft picks can be traded if you so wish this season before the deadline.

Game Write Ups
After some careful consideration (and a look at the calendar,) I've decided that from this point forward, I will be doing the highlight style of write ups until we hit the post season.
I know many people enjoy the long play by play style, but it is very time consuming and takes several days to get a week of games completed.
Using this new highlight style, I should be able to do a week of games every day, if not more.
There are some cons to this however, as it will be hard to send in game plans and keep up with everything like possible suspensions and injuries. The first part can be solved by sending me several weeks worth of game plans all at once in the same PM, I wouldn't send more than 3 at a time though because things like injuries and the like can happen in the meantime and disrupt what you've sent.

Trade Deadline Extended
All trades must be completed by the start of Week 9 now. You have one more week to work out any trades you want to do.

Player Appeals Council
The Office of the Commissioner has appointed a 5 man Appeals Council of upstanding DCFL players to vote on all future Suspension Appeals.

Injured Reserve
Sending a player to injured reserve puts them out for the entire season. You then get to fill their spot on your roster with a 65 overall UDFA type rookie at the same position.
Just put the Injured Reserve player in italics as the bottom of your depth chart, and add the 65 overall player to that position.
