If you had a playoff contender and your only missing piece was a QB, which player would you rather have to help your team make a run at the Super Bowl.

Depends on the team.

Reading this, easily Favre. Favre is more likely to take you to a SB than Vick, who has been out of the NFL.

who is my back up?

Haha, I just asked because, after giving it some thought, there are a lot of current back ups that I would trust more than Vick, at the moment. As for Favre, I need to know what kind of weapons he has at his disposal, as I don't trust him to win the game all on his own.

Vick hasn't played in the NFL in 2 seasons. At least Favre had a 1:1 TD:INT ratio last year, along with a 65%.

Definitely Favre, and I'm more of a Vick fan. You don't know what your going to get with Vick and I dunno if he could have led me to a SB in his prime.

This should be a landslide.

Vick. The Favre experiment has already failed....

Its a landslide because we just don't know what to expect out of Vick. I was pretty impressed with his last season and he showed potential, but that is the story with him anyway. Ryan in his rookie year showed more accuracy and ability to read a defense than Vick ever did.

The Vick experiment was a brilliant success.

Well ... in that case ... Dan O wasn't THAT bad was he? But for the sake of this question I'd choose Favre I didn't really like Vick when he was "good" (to put it another way I hated Vick MUCH more than I do or ever had hated McNabb.) So now that he spent the last two years in prison I wouldn't want to take the hit on publicity nor risk it on his talent.

I thought this was going to be a thread about which one is more annoying to hear fanboys blindly defend.

Either way it's Favre.

I don't care how much you hate Favre, there's no way anyone could actually think Vick is the right answer here. And well if you do, you're wrong.

Vick. I don't want Favre on the Vikings. I don't care if Adrian will have a killer career or not with him, I just do not want Favre. Favre can't make up his ******* mind. And I guess Vick was in trouble with the law, but we've all been there.

As a totally biased VT fan I would take Vick in a landslide.

This is really funny because you've implied that Vick hasn't failed miserably.

he talks about coming back into the league and try something with the 2nd chance. Favre had his 2nd cahnce

Bengalsrocket

Favre did a lot more w/ his 1st chance than Vick ever did. I'll take Favre's "3rd chance" over Vick's "2nd chance" if I've got an entire team built besides the QB position.

I'm surprised this is as close as it is. If I've got a decent team that just needs a QB as the last piece, I'll take Favre every day of the week. The only situation I can see a team wanting Vick over Favre is if they were absolutely terrible. Vick has the ability to win a couple games by himself and also sell tickets. He never was a game manager and after being out of football for 2 years he probably regressed even more as a passer, so the answer has got to be Favre.

Does anyone think either of these guys can get you to the Superbowl?

although I think he should retire, I'll take Favre. You'll need a tailor-made offense to really use Vick. Stick him in a conventional one and he's an average thrower... I'd take Favre because of the plug-and-play value.

I'd say Mike Vick. He can be a good leader and you can retrain him into being an NFL QB pretty quick. Favre will kill you with turnovers, and he's not going to have as much potential as Vick.

Vick is 29 this year, has been out of football for 2 years and wasn't exactly stellar before he went away.

With his play style and the fact that he's been behind bars or working construction mean that he's likely going to need about 6 months to get into proper NFL shape and a full season just to adjust to the speed of the game and get used to the hurt it puts on your body, but that time you've got a 30 yr old running Qb who's experience is in a WCO which he wasn't suited for in the first place.

Before he's competitive as a passer he'll be 31.

I realise that's not overly old for a Quarterback, but it is for a runner. Favre might only be good for 2 years, but at least they'll be semi productive two years, yeah he's not great, but he's a better passer than Vick and more NFL ready.

Before opening this, I honestly thought the question would be "Which person that the media pays far too much attention to annoys you more?" That said, it'd be Favre no question, though with either as my QB, I know that my defense had better be pretty close to all-time great if I want any shot at a championship.

I say easily Brett Favre. Yeah there is a lot of crap around him all offseason long, but at the same time...you can't question his personality or his off the field details. Favre is a future hall of famer, and Vick has just abused dogs in his career and ran a bunch. To me, personally...I wouldn't even consider Vick vs. Favre.
