So much advertising like that....1800, Miller Lite, Dr. Pepper 10. I hate them all.
Really, a lot of beverage companies are trying to rip off the Most Interesting Man In the World's manliness and epicness. Because that campaign boosted the **** out of XX's sales.
I also hate the Arby's guy. Especially the new ad with the "I'm on a boat" at the end.
I like their food, but their ads are annoying as ****.
I hate ads copying Apple with the white background stuff, like T-Mobile.
I hate the fact that all toothpaste commercials show a dentist in a blindingly white room. I've been the multiple dentists, and absolutely no one has such a white room. Stupid, and generic.

You know what grinds my gears? People who turn left to turn right (without a turn signal) only to come to a near complete stop in the middle of the turn because they don't know how to ******* drive a car. I should also mention a school bus (yeah, a full size 60' long SCHOOL BUS) took this turn in front of them with absolutely no ******* problem.
Terrible drivers, they grind my gears more than anything.

Ugh...bad drivers...so many of them out there.
Just last night I was in the driving lane on a two lane highway with a tractor trailer passing me in the passing lane. There was an on-ramp coming up with a solid chain of cars WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO ******* YIELD and not a god damned one of them did.
One car slotted in front of me by just a few feet and the next slotted behind me, all while that tractor trailer was still next to me.
I'm very lucky I didn't end up getting sandwiched. All because those morons wouldn't ******* yield.

One time I was going down to work from school in the middle lane of the freeway, have one car a bit too close behind me and this dumbshit SUV starts changing lanes and he's right next to me and essentially forces me to change lanes also since the car behind me would probably hit me if I braked, bastard is so ******* lucky I was able to change lanes and there wasn't any cars there.

People that just assume you are exactly like the population you make up. Look, most generalizations are true for the majority of a population. Yes, most white guys are hilarious awful dancers. Yes, most Cub fans aren't really fans but like to go to games to get drunk.
But don't assume that I'm one of them before you even meet me. Actually use your ******* eyes, ears, and brain for 2 minutes and then decide. Yes, I like going to Cubs games because they are fun and realize 95% of the people there think Ryan Theriot is still our 2nd baseman. Yes, most Iowa fans are huuuuuge homers that think Iowa football is a top 10 program and should compete for NCs every year. I don't, so **** off if you're gonna just start telling me how much Iowa sucks because our fans are idiots.

Lol at least they will do 40mph... You should come to Perth and all of a sudden you will feel like everyone you've ever seen in the USA is the greatest merger on Earth.
We are awful drivers over here at the best of times but something about merging just ticks us over the top...
For example, I had a car come to a complete halt on the FREEWAY today to try and change lanes only to realise they'd changed into the wrong lane and do the same thing(ok it was down to like 10kph and not a stop the 2nd time) to get back into their original lane.
Honestly... Perth drivers are without a doubt the worst drivers in the world.

I managed to trade Brady Quinn and a second rounder for VY. Obviously a pretty bad trade, but if you don't see why I needed to pull the trigger, you've never tried using Tebow on all-pro. Just brutal. Vince Young has a 1:2 TD:INT ratio, but at least I can move the ball through the air for those days when my blocking only gets Willis 2 ypc.
But yeah, Madden ******* sucks. I didn't get last year, wasn't gonna this year but decided to do it on Boxing Day for 40 bucks. Total POS. You can't change players numbers........... seriously. I've been doing that since PS1 but I can't in Madden 12.

You are meant to keep left over here... but people just can't merge...
There are basically two kinds of mergers in Perth... the impatient dickhead who wants to get as far forward as possible which just creates a massive bottleneck and the over courteous moron who lets every single person in. Not sure which is worse when you get two together but basically it's a disaster as soon as it happens.

There is only one attractive girl at my job. Out of about 400 people in my office, only one of the girls is hot. So what do they do? They move her from an desk directly across from me to another building offsite. And then they replace her with a James Earl Jones lookalike. So instead of having some decent scenery around me, I'm surrounded by a fat woman with an eye patch, a old fat black guy, and a woman who sounds like meat wad. That grinds my gears.

Fine dude, continue to creepily gaze at people because they are the only "hot" women in your vicinity, I'm sure one day that will pan out for you, yup, that's exactly how you land attractive women, you make them feel like they are only there to appease you aesthetically ... that's not awkward and oft putting for them at all, nope, you do your thing, play on player...
I'm guilty of that with 2 of the 4 females we have here. lol
I've obviously been guilty of being attracted to a co-worker but to be let down like "man they took away the only attractive woman!" just seems lame to me, like do you not encounter attractive women in your daily life? or You can't go 8 hours without being in close vacinity of someone who's at least moderately attractive? If you work with her and haven't made some kind of personal connection yet, it probably wasn't going to happen anyway...and if you have made a personal connection that's dope because you can text her/call her, and possibly **** her and not have to see her at work the next day.

I can only speak for myself but, landing the chick is the only reason to engage in such activities, because if you can't land her then I could do like you said and go online and gaze at porn stars, or w/e from the comfort of my home without making someone who is uninterested feel uncomfortable by me eyefucking them whenever they are in my vicinity.

Easy enough to ignore I guess, and I usually do, but recently, I've been noticing this fairly attractive girl showing up in them. Now my cousin and her typical friends...they aren't photogenic, so that's why it caught my attention when this girl started showing up in a lot of the pictures.
So now I'm intrigued. I've been watching the pictures for the past week thinking about making a trip home to see if I can meet this girl.
Well, a picture posted about 5 minutes ago solved the mystery. She's my other cousin's (her brother's) girlfriend.

Seriously. Only time I ever cried over a death was my grandma's and it wasn't until like 3 days after the burial. But you know, she kind of raised me and shared a house with me for 16 years...only...she didn't go platinum or anything.

People I work with that open up excel, and then go File - Open in order to open up a saved file. Every time.
And on top of that, when I say I saved this document on a certain drive, they assume it's in excel and try to open it through excel. When they can't find it, they tell me it's not there. So I freak out that someone moved/deleted it, open the drive and it's sitting right in front of me.

Also, kind of similar, but when a system is upgraded, and people see it's different and automatically complain that they don't have access to do things they could before or that the system took away the ability to do things. No, you're just too lazy or stupid to take 5 minutes to play around with the new system to figure things out. And then I have to take 30 mins explaining to you how I found out how to do it in 2 minutes, and you still can't figure it out.

We (my company) recently changed our international website to make it look like our US site (which is a hell of a lot better) but took an assload of calls for the next week from all of these foreign people complaining about it. Oh, I figure it's like that all over. And not to be an age-ist because CJ is the ish, but it's usually middle-aged/old people that hate the change. Look, I know being the younger generation and having grown up all around computers makes me more accustomed to using/figuring things out on one. But to just not even try or act like somehow this upgrade/change purposely got rid of a feature just to make things harder on 99% of users is really annoying. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out the basics of this system I had no previous knowledge of, and about 10 of those minutes was waiting while the internet was acting up.
On top of that, we work with about 20 different banks, so when a bank changes their online system, people ***** to us saying they don't have this or that, or we can't do this anymore. And while we're a good size company and growing really fast, we are nowhere near the size of like Coke or Sony or what have you, our employees expect us to call our guy at the bank and demand they redo their system to fit our needs. It's ridiculous.
I'll tell you what the opposite of grinding my gears (greasing my gears?) is: my boss telling me to leave at 2 because there's nothing to do. Get to go home to play with my pup outside in this beautiful weather + not having to listen to stupidity at least for another 18 hours = success.

Yup, I never got more than spankings when I ****** up as a kid, and that plus taking things away from me were enought to keep me in line.
But today, even the tiniest physical contact = child abuse and people freak out. It's one thing if you are like 200+ lbs and beating the **** out of your 70 lbs kid. The one thing (just my belief) is that you shouldn't do it out in public, it should be handled privately. But unless it's a guy beating the crap out of his kid, I don't care how you discipline your kids as long as it doesn't affect me or seriously hurt them.

EA Sports games. They all suck.
Been playing FIFA lately, and the controls are just a mess, at least for me. I want to send a strong pass, and it sends it to the guy on the other corner of the map. I cross the field with my player and there's a teammate there, and instead of getting out of the way, he blocks my shot. I successfully tackle a guy to get the ball and he falls down, trips my guy, and another teammate of his gets the ball while my guys stand idly by.
Really frustrating.

Not sure what is outrageous about that... as far as I know he doesn't have a criminal record, which for the Bengals would be the equivalent of someone running a 5+ 40 time to the Raiders, on top of that, you guys have plenty of needs outside of RB that could also use addressing but mainly... criminal record not present.

But it would be sexist to imply that they are irrational idiots so you have to just sit there in the pool of sweat /rant
That is my every god damn day at work. I just naturally run warmer than most people anyway, so what is comfortable to most people is usually too warm for me. But that makes everything so much worse...
A woman's "logic" in general grinds my gears. I'm starting to realize that it's not something that I'll ever, ever understand.
For example, here is an argument I had a little bit back with two of my female coworkers.
Somehow the discussion turned to birth control. I said something along the lines of "if I was a woman, I'd absolutely be on the pill even if I wasn't having sex. It's protection 'just in case' and helps with other things too."
To which one replied: "Yeah, but it's so expensive."
And I rebutted: "It's a lot less expensive than a kid though. I mean, a months worth of birth control pills probably costs less than $50 I'll bet. A kid costs much, much, much more than that. Right?" (I turned to my other female coworker who does have a kid for verification.)
Coworker with a kid: "Yeah, birth control is really expensive."
She just ignored everything I said and those two went on saying how guys should just always wear condoms or something. I felt my points were entirely logical, reasonable and based completely within common sense...and they just ignored them as if I didn't say anything at all.
Also, "but you have to" or "that's just how it is" arguments. I'll point out how stupid, pointless, annoying, etc. something that women do is, to which they'll reply with one of those statements instead of making any real argument.
I can't grasp it and that bothers me. I couldn't live my life based off doing things "just because." Everything I do has some sort of logic behind it. Occasionally I find out that it's faulty logic, but at least it was thought out.

That's because a lot of women either are too dumb or too lazy to have an original thought. Those "just because" arguments are just an excuse because they don't have an reason to actually have that opinion. Obviously this **** pisses me (and I'm sure every other sane male) off as well. But don't ever, EVER make the mistake of verbalizing that after a woman says something like that. Then you're just an ignorant asshole... more "woman logic" for you, lol...

Problem is we are hindered by our need to be logical where as women will not let a silly thing like logic hinder their argument. They're in it for distance and irritation.

But if you contest the "just because" argument, it's because you are sexist. If you try to introduce logic to that argument, or even just ask a question out of your own curiosity (not even arguing or trying to involve yourself), you are a sexist and they win the argument. Everything after that is irrelevant, because you are a sexist.
But back to BBs point, my office has the dumbest set up for ventilation. Our office is set up so that 75% of it is an open floor, with offices around the outside. The control for heat/air is not out on the floor, but in the individual offices. Not only that, but the control in one office will be for two adjacent offices plus the area outside the office.
So, the control for my area is in the office where half the wall is facing outside in the winter (so no real insulation) and the guy is natrually cold blooded and gets cold easily. So because he gets cold in his office, he cranks up the heat, which also cranks up the heat in our area where it's quite comfortable because we aren't right up against a window and have a lot of people giving off body heat.
I'm naturally warm blooded and if I had my way would sit and work in 60 degrees (maybe high 50s). So when the heat gets cranked up to like 75-80, I'm pissed. ******* brand new office, design that **** so it makes sense and not as cheap as possible.

I wasn't accused of being sexist, but an "ignorant asshole". (could be synonyms in woman logic).
I really, really wanted to turn that around and just say something like "So the person who doesn't have an original thought about anything and just spits back whatever they hear is calling ME ignorant?!" But I figured since I don't stick my dick in this ***** on occasion, and have no wishes to, and there was a chick there who I wish to at one point put my dick inside on occasion, I'd just let it go and let her figure out for herself how ******** she was.

I keep my apartment around 65 degrees and wear gym shorts and a t-shirt year round. Like, right now, I don't even have my heat on. I'm on the ground level with two apartments on both sides and one above me. I'm sure they all have their heat blast because, unless I open up the door, it hovers around 70...which is warmer than in the summer when I just blast my AC 24/7.
And did I mention how my own heat isn't even on?
I used to freeze out my roommates because of the way I am. They'd complain it was cold but I'd just tell them to put on a sweatshirt or something because I didn't want to roast to death.
That worked 3 of the 4 years...but the year I lived with 2 girls was awful. Just awful. I had to live there in a constant temperature of like 80 degrees. Horrible. And they weren't even good for doing "girl stuff" like housework.
I think I'm pretty clean for a guy...I don't know that the cleanliness of my apartment right now would please my mom, but it beats the hell out of any other guy my age's place I've ever been. But those girls were ******* useless that year. (It should be noted I lived with them as a backup plan because my previous roommate decided he was dropping out of school for a year WHILE we were apartment hunting...)
I remember before I moved in, my mom gave me this long speech about how I should do my part and not make them do all of the cleaning. Ha. They barely did a god damn thing. I'd do the dishes, and then those two would argue that it was other one's turn...so the dishes didn't get done until I needed something we were out of, forcing me to do them again.
Thank god for weed and the fact that one of them was hot. It was the only reason I tolerated it.

It was my experience living through college that girls are just as messy, if not messier, than guys.
Whereas guys will let **** sit out because they are lazy, usually we will make an effort to clean up after the weekend or by like Tuesday/Wednesday. A lot of the girls I knew we would go over to their place, and they would just leave the trash piled up in a corner because they didn't want to walk 20 feet to the dumpster. Or they just leave gross ass **** laying around EVERYWHERE. With guys, it will be like beer cans/beer, leftover food, maybe some random trash, but we usually have enough decency to not leave like used condoms laying on a table in the living room. With girls, it's either they clean everything or NOTHING. I couldn't believe it when I started living on my own.
Also, I got really lucky in school that my frosh year my roommate was from Minnesota, so it was December out and we left our window open 24/7. Come home, lounge in shorts/tshirt. Put on sweatpants or sweatshirt if chilly. Go to bed, wrap up in blankets and sleep in blissful cold air. Never think about ever shutting the window. Same thing for next 3 years...glorious.

When people come into my work they have to fill out some paper work if it is their first time visiting the clinic. Its just one sheet, fill out info in the front, disclaimers and what legal stuff in the back and requires 2 signatures. One in the front and one in the back.
Now I can understand when people miss the back signature, even when I tell them as I hand them the gtdamn clipboard to sign both sides. But it really chaps my ass when the idiots don't sign either side. How do you miss.....Patient Signature:____________________

That's pretty much what I have to do. Every once in a while someone makes such an idiotic or untruthful comment, that I need to say something. I usually regret it immediately afterwards.
Like the time my coworker tried to convince me that the Pirates almost made the World Series in the late 90s but lost to the Braves in 6 or 7 games in the NLCS. When I told him the Pirates haven't made the playoffs in like 20 years, and that he was probably thinking the early 90s, he maintained that it was like 97 or 98 that they had a good team. I'm just forced to accept the argument, and hope my silence prevents any further discussion.

Rare gear grinding aversion.
There are a bunch of huge, flat screen TVs on the walls where I work. They're normally set to crap channels like Fox News, Fox News in HD, PCN And the local access channel that seriously shows nothing but town council meetings.
And these are pretty tightly controlled by our upper management...but it looks like someone set one of them to the Big 10 Network, and they're showing a replay of the Nebraska/Northwestern game. Sweet. There's no sound, but I don't recall who won this game so it's like watching a live game.

I work in the treasury department for my company, and my boss has been trying to get a tv for his office so that he can "keep up on the market and foreign currencies." Of course, he already does this with a little thing called the internet. But he really wants to get a tv so that we can throw on March Madness while having "meetings."
Our office has one TV out in the reception area, and it's usually on like CNN or MSNBC. I generally don't have a problem with that, except every mouthbreather in the office will stop and watch a story about how some one got arrested or some one died. They then use that as an excuse to force current events conversations on people.
If there's a close 2nd place to ignorant people talking sports that grinds my gears, it's people pretending to be all knowledgable to current events by just watching 2 mins of a news clip and saying how it's the fault of the media, government, spaghetti monsters, etc.

Wait...what?
Do your parents not realize how hard it is to get a decent teaching job? Most everyone I know had to start off subbing or in some sort of temporary position just to get the experience. I mean, even if it's for like a month, you can still put that on a resume to show you've had some experience.
No offense, but are your parents that dumb?

Just saw a really, really, really BAD mock draft from an actual media outlet. I just left the page and I'll pretend it doesn't exist. It's like prospect names were just sneezed onto a list of teams by draft order.

My school secretary's voice grinds my gears. She ends every announcement with this sickly sweet "Thank You". The only problem is it comes out sounding like "Thank Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu".

People who do not subscribe to the idea that your image weighs heavily on how others interact with you.
for the fourth ******* time in two years my car has been towed out of my apartment parking lot (which costs 60 dollars a ******* month)
in the previous three times, my parking pass fell from my rear view mirror onto the dash/my front seat/the floor. it was in plain view from the window but these ******* central pennsylvania rednecks towed it anyways. it cost me 150 to get my car back each time.
i know for a fact that my parking pass was in my car yesterday so it must have fallen yet again. and now i get to pay another 150 unless i want to try to argue with them (for the fourth time) and have them threaten to call the cops on me again.
now i understand that my parking pass falling isnt their fault but they have a god damn file of all the vehicles that are registered in my lot. instead of calling me or my land lord to verify that the car is illegally parked they just tow it. im livid right now

Where do you live? I live in Park Forest and just saw a couple cars getting towed from the lot across the street there yesterday.

I gathered that, but where specifically. (It doesn't have to be too specific, I'm not trying to be a stalker. Just curious.) Just like, where abouts in town.

That's some ********. I would go to the landlord/company that owns the property and explain what's going on. Chances are they are complete dicks like most realty companies, but you never know. I know when I was in school, if they didn't see a pass in your window, they'd check with the company on if the car is registerred.
How does it keep falling down?
And as a new issue, I loathe when people are wearing a backpack or bag over their shoulder, and the strap is twisted/not laying flat against them. It's really just me being anal, but this morning I saw a kid with a bag over his shoulder and the strap was twisted at least 5 times. It just really, really bothers me to see it.
I live in an apt on barnard st (behind the fire station) and my lot is literally right next to my building.
I just got my car and the parking pass was sitting on the dash. it must have fallen from the mirror but it was in plain sight. they told me they would reduce the fee to 115 so i called my landlord and she ripped them a new asshole for me. didnt have to pay a dime.
my savings account was getting low. i needed that to work out. im so relieved

thats exactly why i was so pissed. since this has happened before, i know for a fact that they have a list of vehicles, which i guess they choose not to look at when towing a car.
i watched them put my car on a do not tow list before i left the place. im not dealing with this **** again. now i can finally get back to putting effort into my real priorities haha

That's good at least. My landlords are the same way. We don't have parking passes (we're far enough away from campus that no one really bothers to park here unless they live here) but if we ever do get a ticket or towed, we can let them know and they'll get it fixed.
I haven't had a problem yet luckily, but I know some others around here who have and it's worked out.

I'd tape the god damn thing to my mirror if it falling down was a recurring issue.

Apparently, rumors about the next Playstation console say that it will have a means of preventing you from playing used games.
What a joke. I've become so disillusioned with gaming recently and that just shows you how hoggish the industry has become.
It's rare to find an intelligent game anymore. They're all getting so dumbed down now to appeal to the ADD generation that follows mine up (or maybe starts with mine, I don't know anymore...)
If you can't pick up and be a master of the game in 5 minutes, your screwed. And stories? One of my favorite things about any game? They're getting dumbed down or cut out or have absolute garbage endings so more development time can be spend on asinine features like multiplayer....I haven't played a game online since Warcraft 3. I don't want to deal with other stupid people when I play.
I play my games like interactive movies. Give me a good story and an immersible world...
It's weird to think about but ME3 might legitimately be the last new game I ever buy. There's nothing else I'm excited about or looking forward to...the Final Fantasy series is in the gutter now. Bioware has ****** me on their last two games. (DA:2 was a "hit A to win!" abortion and the ending of ME3 showed me that they just stopped giving a **** at some point.) Bethesda is still trending downward. (Skyrim was a step up over Oblivion but still about 10 steps below Morrowind in terms of being dumbed down completely.)

It's cool. I've got a physical disability in my left leg, but aside from a 3-inch lift in my shoe, it's not obnoxiously noticeable with jeans on since I don't have much of a limp. Still, I have a handicap placard and use it when I need to, but I try not to take up a spot if I'm feeling ok.
Anyway, I parked in a handicap spot at the mall and my buddy was with me, and we got out to walk inside. A mall cop sees us and pulls up behind my car, blocking it in the spot (not that I cared, but still), parks her car, and rolls down the window to call me and my friend who are almost to the door back to the car.
So we walk back, and I assure her that everything's legitimate and I have a right to use the spot. She apparently doesn't realize that I have one regular shoe and what would appear to be the sneaker version of disco platforms (should've just showed her the 15-inch scar that runs from my ankle to my knee, but nooooo). But I cooperate. I even give her the handicap placard so she knows it's valid, and she holds onto it until the end of the stop. She decides to make us wait there, leaning against my car, while she ran my plates and had my car blocked in while flashing her caution lights.
Everything ended up alright, though. She was nice enough to give me a warning.

meh, it's not like this hasn't happened before. small game publisher makes cool game, ea buys, they get progressively worse, ea disbands label. process repeats.
what's really cool right now is the utterly massive number of indie game developers and titles that are available on the PC (via steam, for instance) or even through the live or psn market things. bastion, for instance, was a tremendous game for the $5 i spent on it, and it's likely something i'll replay several more times.
journey was another (though i haven't had time to play it yet) tremendously highly rated game that costs nearly nothing.
i think the difference is that, like with music, you simply can't go to the big devs and publishers with any expectation of buying a reasonably good game. they don't care. and they don't care because consumers have shown that they'll repeatedly buy the exact same shooter clone, play it online for two months, then dump it when the next 'version' comes out. rinse and repeat. so they have no interest in developing anything with a story, for instance, because the people buying games have demonstrated repeatedly to developers that they're functionally illiterate and incapable of spending more than 3 seconds figuring something out.
so whatever. i won't play those games. i won't pirate them or rent them, i'll just go play/buy other games that are made by developers who still care about their franchise and are capable of building a decent game.

I hear ya. I was reading about the new PS and saw that rumor bout blocking used games. That's total crap...there are very few games I'm ok paying $60 for. I also agree with everything you said. Its ridiculous I used to be a huge gamer pre-HS and still into my sophomore year but then stopped for a few years. I tried getting back into it last year but there's so little to choose from now and seems I didn't miss a whole lot during my time away from the xbox. Smh

wait, you got a warning for using a handicapped placard you have every right to use?
