I suck at computers so I have come to you

Looking for something in the $600-$800 range, has to be able to run Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc, and I would like to be able to run these at the same time with little lag. Basically everything in the range comes with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. A giant hard drive isn't necessary and I might be looking to buy a external hd in the future to store music and videos on anyways. I will probably play some games on it, but nothing too demanding. I would prefer to buy from a store with a face like Best Buy or Wal-Mart, some place that I don't have to talk on the phone or through emails if it breaks(even though they will most likely direct me to the manufacturer anyways)

Here are some I have been looking at

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9371556&type=product&id=1218093379440

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9353353&type=product&id=1218090329155

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9353371&type=product&id=1218090330700

and to appease you mac people the only thing close to my price range is

feel free to suggest anything

15'' screen isn't my type of thing, I had a 22'' desktop screen and when i bought a new laptop the 19'' screen took me a while to adjust to.

I dunno man... anything more the 16" inch screen makes the laptop too big imo... the 15" is a nice size and should be fine

Do they even make a 19" notebook? I know HP has a 18.6" machine, but 19 is way to big. I mean a 17" already looks like you're opening a car hood when you lift up the lid, a 19" would just look stupid.

But as for recommendation, I'm actually in the market for a notebook aswell, and I've widdled the list down to a Dell Studio 1555 or Macbook Pro 13". So from that original list, I'd say go Dell.

I've been given a variety of laptops to work with as tech writer by tech companies & I've learned that the best one on the mkt. is the IBM ThinkPad, easily the best I've ever worked on.

Avoid anything made by Toshiba -- they're boat anchors. Real crap.

I agree ThinkPads are good but I just hate how they look haha, they are so ugly. And I couldn't agree more about toshiba's wow are they garbage

Normally I'd say buy a Mac and thank me later, but at your price range the other options are better.

Might I suggest this (http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668267.php) Gateway laptop?

I will not give you money to buy a laptop...

I suck at technology, so anything I would say with me trying to be serious would be most likely useless anyway...

i found that going directly to manufacturer sites and ordering a laptop with your personal customization is convenient despite the ship time and prices are generally lower than at retail stores such as best buy. this time of the year manufacturers have sales i believe. i got a lenovo ideapad a few months ago with 4gb ram and 300gb hdd with 2.0 ghz for roughly $550.

Whatever you do, do not listen to this hooligan. Yes you will partially be using this for graphic design, literally the ONLY thing a Mac is good for. But outside of that..... ya.

Also, Tigerdirect > Newegg
